Quit playing 10 years ago, played off 5, fed up with 5 hour rounds and scoring in com
petitions.

You mean not scoring?

No I mean 46 points to win stableford or nett 60 in stroke play.....if I had been able to compete with that then I should have been on tour.

Was there no divisional prizes? Or best gross? Thought that would be fairly standard.

Saturday results from my club:

Many golfers on the board with handicaps?? I'm playing off 15 for past few years, can't seem to get any better or worse at it :P could play 7 days a week if I could find a way to financially support my idea lol

I've a 16 handicap more play more like a 24. Lowest I have been is 12 for two weeks.

Got down to 11 when I was kid but went up consistently at uni and when I started work. Was back at 18 when I broke two bones in my back about 6 years and am only now getting back into the game. Would probably be off 24 now. Have to say though I got a new set of Irons a few months ago. Custom fit to me so a little longer and a little more upright. I wish I had those when playing regularly because I easily got them 15% further and with more accuracy. Didn't realise the difference custom fitting could make.
Playing off 19 ATM, got down to 14 in the winter, target this year is 16.

Currently playing off 21 (20.6).  Lowest I've been is 20.

Starting playing 4 years ago, aside from hacking it around par3 course when i was a cub.  Started off 24 & went up to 25 briefly on 2 occasions.

Driver is my biggest achilles heel.  Had been hitting the driver well (by my standards) over the winter but went to shite yesterday.  Still managed to scramble around for 39 points.  However, it isn't qualifying yet.

Main aim this year is to get down to 18.  But that was my aim last year too!!

Sorry lads. My point was when Mark Hamilton stood outside the Greenvale he mentioned some attendees being underage. Call me cynical but I just felt they were washing their hands off it - acting as if they didn't know. As for crowd control etc, over the years cops cars have came into the Greenvale car park. I can definitely remember that from going to socials. They didn't appear overly worried with line ups then.
I was at a social (probably 1997) were the police actually came in & walked around the entire room, area around the bar went from packed to totally cleared in no time at all. No alcohol sold for the rest of the night unless you'd ID to show you were over 18. Fake IDs not as prevalent back then so very little trade done that night!!!
Police knew that these events were full of underage teenagers over 20 years ago!!

Heard on the radio earlier that it was corporate manslaughter but anything I've read since says manslaughter.

Should go for Steve Clarke straight away.

Lennon may have issues from when he left.

Same issues of non funding that Rodgers is considering leaving for.

It coukd be a ploy to shake the board into spending money.

I can't believe he would go to Leicester. Ok more wage and loads more money to spend... but the only glory there will be getting them promoted back into English premier next season...
So I can't believe it's a pure footballing decision.
More likely his bird wants back to engerland

What are you talking about?
If they are relegated... apologies for not spelling it out

( Leicester that is..)

If Leicester are relegated from their current position I'd be very surprised if Rodgers will be given the chance to get them promoted!!

Surprised to hear of someone from Derry watching an arty movie  ;D

Anyone seen Glass? Have seen mainly mediocre reviews of it but a couple of very decent reviews. Maybe one for the firestick.

Haven't seen Glass yet but heard a review on the radio that you really need to see Split (and unbreakable too obviously) first.

So I watched Split on Netflix last week - good show.  Thought James McAvoy was excellent.

Review of Glass also said he stole the show in this as well - well ahead of Bruce & Samuel L.

1 - Joggers running on the road beside the pavement.

2 - Joggers running along country roads with no pavements with headphones on.

People who use Anerican terms.

Where's the American terms in there?
Pavement you tool

The American term is sidewalk, the Irish/British term is pavement.

The Irish term is footpath. Them crumby yanks use the word pavement for the street

And the Irish use the term footpath or pavement for the bit beside the street that you walk on.

Never heard pavement used in Tyrone.

Away til fcuk. Used it all the time.

In Tyrone they usually say "fudpad"

Derry blown up for 1 handpass in a row!! Is that even a thing!!??  And also, 2 handpasses in a row.

Tyrone twice got away with 4 handpasses in a row - both resulting in scores.

i have started watching 'You' on Netflix.
Started off ok, but its got a bit silly already a few episodes in

Have to agree with this. Started great and i thought this would be a show i'd really enjoy. I'm 6 episodes in now and it's on the slide.

Same!

Watched episodes 7 & 8 last night; it's just not living up to the first few episodes.  I'll stick it out for the last 2 in the series anyway.

i wonder who damien mc erlain thought were the standout player/s from yesterdays county final?    i also wonder how he found the car parking in Ahoghill

Are you asking that just because you didn't see him at the county final or because you actually seen him at the Antrim final?

I'm calling bullshit!!

My observations from the weekend for what it's worth.
For excitement and drama, Cargin and St Galls couldn't be better
Draperstown and Maghera, well just Draperstown and Maghera were always and always will be
I thought we would have made it to a county final before the neighbours
And does Screenexile just post when Draperstown wins or there's a row somewhere

He has plenty of time to continue his obsession with diving tyrone players now.

Glad somebody misses me!!

We started OK but the goal really killed us and we just found it much harder to get scores than they did. It was a real blow as we all know that Coleraine can shut it down when they're in front and pick off points on the break when they need them.

Had we used the long ball a bit earlier than the last ten minutes of the second half we could have got back in it I feel but we were too late.

Good to see some of the young lads from last years victorious minor team get some Senior Championship experience ... There's always next year!!

Who were they?? I didn't think i saw too many new faces for screen on sunday.

Chances are that i'm wrong as i wouldn't be totally familiar with the lads coming through but:
Marty Bradley & Aaron Bradley both started & were minors last year.
Was Conor McGovern minor last year?
Noel Rafferty & Ryan Doyle both came on.
Add in JP Devlin too (is he still injured)

A selection of posts on Dan Mullan's performance in the 2017 county final between Slaughtneil & Ballinascreen:

Quote from: Uncle Phil on September 25, 2017, 08:59:36 AM
Thought the referee was a joke with some of his decisions against Screen. But this didn't contribute to the result.

Quote from: tbrick18 on September 25, 2017, 09:47:16 AM
Again, no real reflection on the end result as we were so well beaten, but the ref was a joke.

Quote from: DERRYSFINEST on September 25, 2017, 11:56:15 AM
However, Dan Mullan certainly favoured Slaughtneil in their semi final win against Glen and also yesterday.  It was clear for all to see

Quote from: Estimator on September 25, 2017, 12:40:30 PM
Mullan had no impact on the scoreline.  He was very poor all over.

Quote from: toby47 on September 25, 2017, 01:06:04 PM
On a side note - Mullan was very poor. Didn't effect the result at all but some really questionable decisions. None more so than the foul on Anton Kelly in the first half that was a stone wall penalty.
