Shambles .

Timeline of events from Newstalk.

County Board meet McStay for preliminary talks. Executive meet agree a process. Chairman ignores the process. Rings McStay tells him he is not wanted. Rings McStay tells him he wants him to go for interview or Pull Out. Release a Statement which is untrue. Shaft McStay. Get caught out in their ineptitude. Go into hiding.

You couldn't make it up and give the job to a man who left Eoin Reilly on Diarmuid Conolly for the whole All Ireland Club Final. Connolly scores 2-5 no change made. Won 1 Connacht Championship match in first spell as manager.

Their other choice the Vice Chairmans brother has won a MW league with his Club in his three years in charge.

No wonder they didn't want interviews.

We are at a crossroads and it is important the County Board make a choice based on Tactical Acumen and Leadership Ability rather than Financial Constraints and Relationship to the Board. Both potential candidates have positives and negatives. I cannot get away from the hand of history, How many Joint Mangers have won All Irelands? How many Managers have failed to win an All Ireland in their first spell and came back to win one in their second spell ? We have tried this policy in the past with John Maughan and John O' Mahony and it would be fair to say it has failed.

Can we learn the lessons from our own history.

Mayo / Re: Mayo Club Football.
July 20, 2014, 09:26:54 AM
Absolutely delighted to top the group. Any win in Knockmore is a good one. The situation with Kevin Mc Loughlin not being allowed play is a very dangerous precedent. How could Andy Moran, Donal Vaughan, Boyle, Conroy, Varley, McHale et al be allowed play. This is another example of the inept management at County Board Level. Either all play or none play call off the matches. We probably would have lost if Kevin played and now Knockmore face the harder side of the draw.
Caolan Crowe again stood out at Centre Forward, Knockmore were totally reliant on Ruttledge and some of their forward play was abysmal. Hopefully we can get another win in the QF's and our young crop of players keep improving.

Ease up Moysider, Never tried to discredit them. Conor is our all time top scorer, Richie has given great service and Evan is only a young lad, my point was that if the team was picked by Message Board Post this would be a potential FF Line. It may or may not be better than what we have at the moment.

As for Nally and Crowe there is talk of them being contenders this end of the county.

No manager ever elected on a Message Board ;) Would be good crack though. We might have a FF line of Regan / Feeney / Mort. and we might be better off. ;D

I would bring in Shane Nally at 7. Caolan Crowe at 11. Would that be classed as Club Allegiance.

No reason according to Richie himself.

It was being said that I drove to the All-Ireland final on my own," says Feeney. "There was talk of a big bust-up in the camp. All of those rumours were completely untrue. "Feeney was disappointed he never got a chance against Dublin, but there was no point expending any more emotional energy when he didn't. "When you don't get a run, you are obviously disappointed," he says. "Maybe you feel yourself that you could have done something to make a difference. The manager just tried other things on the day. "That is just the way it is and there is nothing you can do about it. You have to respect the manager's decision".

We all have opinions as supporters but this constant negativity with regard to Regan/Feeney is not helping anyone.

If you have concerns about the Managements abilities feel free to get your club delegate to express them in the appropriate forum at a County Board Meeting. Get your Club to propose an alternative Kevin McStay seems to be the popular choice emanating from North Mayo.

Richie Feeney is used constantly as stick to beat Horan over the head with, I used his example because his name appears 85 times in this particular Forum. Horan obviously doesn't see a role for Richie Feeney which is his prerogative as Manager. It is not a supporters job to question a players treatment he should be able to speak to the manager himself. Should James Horan have to log on here on a Monday morning and justify his treatment of players. You might not get the kind of answers you would like when it comes to some players who have made themselves unavailable for selection.

And by the way I'm no apologist for James Horan. I feel he has made mistakes during his tenure but it is not his job to explain them to me.

Have we any player of the calibre of Maurice Fitzgerald, No. I am denigrating them all so.

Evan Regan is gone for this year lads, can we not forget about a young lad who undoubtedly has a lot of ability, but is totally unproven. We have a panel of players who are there now for this year and a management team and can we not get behind them. Brian Coady dropped men with All Ireland Medals in their back pockets like Charlie Carter, we still have lads on about Ciaran McDonald and Conor Mortimer they have had their time.

Richie Feeney is a squad player, lord you would think he was Maurice Fitzgerald the way some people are talking. Let Management manage and if you are not happy get your County Board Delegates to act. We have an exceptional group of committed footballers who are trying everything to win an All Ireland and we are dissecting every decision made in minute detail. Get behind the lads and support those who are there and try and leave your club allegiances outside this forum.

larryin89 are you Aiden Henry

As long as he is the go to man against Knockmore in the Championship and scores 0-5 from play again I will be happy enough.
#72
Yeah, Keith kicked some great points looks a prospect, and your favourite county player   ;D  scored 5 points despite having 3 Knockmore men marking him at all times. Knockmore play a nice running game but their fullback line may be an Achilles heel against better opposition.
#73
Farr how is KMc seemed to be limping when he got the Black Card, Young Ruttledge looks a prospect

Bring back Evan Regan, and drop Cillian. We think Horans selections are strange

Not Bad For A Chest Thumper

He led Laune Rangers to the Kerry Senior Football Championship in 1989, the clubs first since 1911. They beat John Mitchels in the final, they went on to win championships in 1993 beating Annascaul, 1995 beating East Kerry and made it two in a row in 1996 by overcoming West Kerry. He led the Rangers to Munster Senior Club Football Championships in 1995 beating Cork side Clonakilty and in 1996 beating Tipperary side Moyle Rovers. The Laune Ranagers went to the 1996 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship beating Carlow side Éire Óg in the final in Croke Park. He led Tipperary to back to back National Football League promotions in 2008 and 2009, bringing them from Division 4 to Division 2 and winning the Division 3 title in 2009. In 2010 he led Tipperary to their first Munster Under-21 Football Championship with a 1-07 to 1-06 win over Kerry in the final. Now he has lead Roscommon to a Division 3 Title.
