Kyler Murray had an interesting debut. He was putrid for 3 quarters and the Cards broadcast team were inconsolable.  Then he went berserk in the 4th quarter and they were on cloud nine.

And he's released

Cost him $300k (in fines) to play for the Raiders

To not play for them.

Offaly got to final of Tony Forristal at weekend, Tipp won it. Good to see positive story at end of tough year for Offaly hurlers.

First time ever for Offaly.  Tipp B team won Sonny Walsh as well.

Extra time. Tight schedule now. They'll probably cancel the Down jubilee team now

I think Down 94 team are coming out at half time in the senior game. The 1pm start in this match allowed for the possibility of extra time.

Yeah, there was a note in the hurling program that if the minor game went to ET, the Jubilee team would be presented at half time in the senior game. If the minor game finshed in 60 mins, the jubilee team come out between the games.

Eric was the reason Utd won leagues, he was was also the reason why Utd were shite in Europe.

That's a commonly held untruth, probably due to Dunphy slating him at every opportunity. The reason United were "shite" in Europe in those days was because they couldn't field their full team. They had to put youth team players into their team due to restrictions that restricted the use of non English players. Cantona played in 3 European Cup campaigns. He played 16 games and scored 5 goals in a weakened team. One of those seasons (his last) United were pretty unlucky to lose a semi final to the eventual winners Dortmund - incidentally he told Ferguson he was retiring the day afterwards.

When I think about the lack of European Cups United have for a club their size this stupid rule and the air disaster come to mind. I've no doubt the club would have 2 or 3 more at least but for those two things.

I think Ferguson also contributed in the early days. He tried to out-think himself sometimes in European games instead of letting his lads off the leash. I think Liverpool in the 80s may have influenced him whereby they set out to kill the away leg and win at Anfield. But they had players that could do that. United were rawer at that stage and probably just needed to be let loose.

As for the foreigner rule, every club had to adhere to that, including the Italians, Spanish and Germans, so it was a level playing field. If they were allowed play foreigners who knows what they'd have won also.

"At noon on the morning of All-Ireland Senior Hurling Finals in which Tipperary participate, a ceremony of remembrance is held at the spot in Talbot Street where he died,[9] attended mainly by people from West Tipperary and Dublin people of Tipperary extraction. The last such ceremony was held at midday on Sunday, 4 September 2016 and attracted a large attendance, most of whom were en route to Croke Park."

Did it happen on Sunday ?

Yes. I was at it. A very nice 30 minutes or so. Big Crowd. Derek Warfield played music, then a lad recited the Proclamation. Then a descendant of Sean Treacy let a decade of the rosary for him. After that a lad sang "Tipperary so far away". Then Aogán Ó Fearghail said a few words and a piper played Amhrán na bhFiann. Derek Warfield played a few more tunes and wrapped it up. All off to Croker then.

I would think its a case of the max teams in the league being set to 10. That just needs to be adjusted up to 14 or so while movement is ongoing to allow for the extra teams, it can be adjusted back down again when need be.
Ive seen the issue elsewhere other years..
I'll give this a go. Although I had already removed 4 teams.

When you remove them, it's a two step process. You'll see they still look like they are invited. Effectively the first 'remove' puts them back to invite stage. You then have to look at the invites list and minus those ones to actually delete them.

thought they completely ran out of ideas yesterday

launching long ball after long ball in, in the hope Fennelly or TJ might get onto it
Heffernan cleaned up

Crazy stuff. Cathal Barrett must have had repetitive strain injury from all the balls he was catching and pucking out.

Does anyone have an opinion about Hawkeye and the point awarded to Kilkenny yesterday? Why does the caption used to award the score not show the position of the ball in relation to to crossbar at the point where Hogan actually caught the sliothar? With all the cameras at the game, isn't it strange not to have one positioned along the end line where everyone could see whether or not the point was scored!

Would the 2 uprights not get in the way of getting a proper view?

Not if the ball was completely over because the posts are the same width as the crossbar.

I'd like to see that visually rather through Hawkeye's view! A whole hand with ball completely behind the post!

I had a good angle of that. Absolutely no way that that ball was completely behind the crossbar. Not a chance. I have a real problem with how Hawkeye shows that graphic, of course the trajectory of the ball is correct, but there's no way it went over the bar and the graphic makes it look clear cut. Goal Line type technology is the only thing that could answer that.

Watching this, I could say Limerick still the best team in the country. Always hard to take All-Ireland Champions that are not undefeated

Limerick were beaten 3 times this year.

Didn't watch it but not surprised if Jacqui Hurley did a good job. she seems a decent sort and is a genuine sports fan.

I reckon another 108 points will do it.
