"So you have to be a catholic, speak Irish, and follow GAA to be considered Irish?" - In my opinion, you are not really considered as much of a "true Irishman" if you do not meet the broad citeria that I originally listed.  That is, you are not meant to feel wholly included if you are not catholic, follow GAA etc.  I am not saying this to wind you up, it is simply how I and, I'm failry sure, others like me feel.

Wow.  I dont know what to say.  Other than thats the biggest load of rubbish I have read in some time.

Scary stuff - Wonder if in a few years we'll see something similar with Rugby?

Scary stuff alright.  I don't understand why helmet to helmet hits are not cut out of the game totally.  Thankfully it seems huge strides have been taken over the last few years when it comes to safety in both American Football and even wrestling.  Two areas where concussions regularly occurred.  I don't know much about Rugby.  But when reading some articles on the papers here you often read about the big hits players have taken or that so and so is recovering from a concussion.  But you rarely hear of any talk about the dangers of brain injuries or concussions when it comes to Rugby which I find deeply worrying.  Over the last few years the danger of concussions and hits to the head have become a major concern in America but on this side of the Atlantic we don't seem to take it as seriously.

Yes back to the Provincial Championships, less games and Antrim  will have a chance (70 minute chance) of getting into the All Ireland final. Benefits are, less county games and club hurling will get better, thus making better (more off)  hurlers

I don't think anyone wants it to go back to the old system.  Its better now though this years competition (mainly the qualifiers) has huge flaws.

But smaller counties can't sit back and wait for the GAA to make changes to the championship in the hope it helps the counties make the next big step.  That work has to be done within the county.

The Hurling championship in its current format has not worked for the weaker counties. I certainly would like to see more counties involved or at least in the final shake up.

You see, I find this line of thinking very strange.  Every couple of years we hear the same old lines thrown around.  "The current format is no help", "format needs to be changed to give weaker counties a chance".  The format for the All-Ireland Hurling Championship has been changed numerous times over the last 15 years.  The positives of this are that it has given all teams more than one game.  However for the most part it has not made a blind bit of difference to the weaker counties, and it wont.  How come in other sports I never hear this sort of thing.  I never hear "well the format of the Premiership needs to be changed to give the likes of Sunderland a chance" or "The NFL needs to change its format to help rubbish teams such as Buffalo or Detroit win more games".

At the end of the day, unless enough work goes on within the county to help improve the standard of hurling, the GAA can change the format year after year and we will end up with the same results year after year.

When you mention Macedonia people always remember the beatings and the Orange jersey.  No one ever seems to remember our worst result against this side.  The 1-1 away draw back in 1999 that cost us automatic qualification to Euro 2000.  Goal headed in from a corner in the last seconds of the match.  One of my worse memories as an Irish fan.

Tonight I don't think we will win.  Could be the usual.  Take a 1-0 lead early on, concede soon after and then battle to a 1-1 draw.  A win would put us in a great position though.

I learnt my lesson years ago.  When I watch these videos I sit well back from the screen and expect something like that to happen.  Good try though.  ;D

I have an interest in the Paranormal.  I did the ghost tour in Q Station in Manly in Australia which was good.  I'm a huge horror film fan, (not so much the slasher type films though) but its hard to find any good ones now.

I thought "The Last Exorcism" wasn't too bad

I wasn't too gone on it..  I did enjoy The Exercism of Emily Rose and Paranormal Activity was OK.  But nothing really stands out over the last few years.  There probably is one or two very good ones I can't think of off the top of my head though.

Sorry to hear about that Benny.  I have been burgled many times, the worst coming last year when I woke up in the night to the sound of the dog barking.  I went down stairs and saw they had smashed open the door to the hallway.  I quickly ran to the kitchen and put the dog on the lead and kept him with me by the stairs.  They then proceded to give the front door about three hard kicks before they left.  Why they did this I don't know, maybe to frighten us.  My mistake was I used to leave my dog in the kitchen during the night.  Now he has run of the kitchen and hallways.  He is a big German Shepherd dog and he wont think twice of attacking someone should they try and break in again.

I hope the fellows that broke into your house are caught Benny but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm far from Enda Kenny's biggest fan Nally, but I think you are misrepresenting what he said. He said people were entitled to protest, peacefully. What he said was the he hoped they didn't embarrass our country in doing so. The lads setting fire to bins and throwing things at the gardai didn't heed him unfortunately, but there was only a few of them at least.

Absolutely nothing wrong with peaceful protest, but attacking GardaĆ, vandalism and general thuggary is all we saw from these inbreds (the other inbreds, our visitors, behaved themselves  :D  )

Scumbags for the most part that are out only to cause trouble.  I'm sure though when either Manchester Utd/Liverpool play a friendly match against some Irish club they will be out in full force to cheer on 'their' team.  ::)

I had my reservations about this visit but so far I have been very proud as an Irish man.  I support a 32 county united Ireland, but by peaceful means.  Snubbing the Brits is not going to achieve anything.  The organisation of this visit involved risks on both sides.  From the worry of how the queen would be received in Ireland and for the Royal Family themselves I'm sure they worried about how the visit of the Queen to the Memorial Gardens and to Croke Park would go down back in Britain.

I was disappointed that most of the Ulster Counties decided to stay away but I suppose its more difficult for those in the north than it is for us down here.  But I feel we have still come along way.  There can be no more violence in Ireland in the future, its important for all that we try and move on from our violent past, whether you're Nationalist or Unionist.

I have enjoyed WWE programming over the last year.  I have defended it time and again over those 12 months.  But tonight, well I cant defend that anymore.  Worst WM I have ever ordered.

Wow what a match! (taker v HHH) well worth saying up for.

Great match but not enough on its own to save this show.  Great performance by both men.
