Ahh back to the good old days of Charlie Haughey when the Taoiseach was telling us to tighten our belts while he was playing free and easy with the tax payers money.

Puts paid to the myth once and for all that Kerry are gracious losers.
Think the All Blacks carried on similarly after 2007 WC defeat to France.

if you owe the bank a few hundred YOU are in trouble, if you owe them a couple of million THEY are in trouble. Tell them they'll get the money when we have it or get stuffed.
why aren't irish people out on the streets protesting because they take it up the arse, english landlords, the clergy, polititions, the guards, irish people have been taking it for centuries they know no different. i read that dublin catholics spat on the 1916 heroes on their way to being executed by the brits
i understand that the guards and reserve have been drilling/practising at dundalk race course for riots for the past few months to supress any protests that might arise... disgusting! this government have supressed the media, denied the irish people democracy, and now they intend to batter its citizens of the street

Just giving you the other side of pitch invasions. And yes - the Louth hooliganism has been presented as the last straw that brought you the fences in front of Hill 16. That's not me saying that.

there is a woman in Ardee that has the cure for it. She is supposed to be very good.
She's hardly still alive, is she? She was about in the sixties. Maybe she passed it on to a new woman.
"The woman in Ardee" was revered in my house. My mother and three uncles at different times had the sort of pain described by wavesofTORRES. They each visited her and claimed they were cured. Of course I'm a sceptic about cures and stuff, but I have to say they seemed to be cured as well. I have no idea whether it was something physical she did or some other treatment or so-called faith healing. I assume it must have been some physical manipulation (as far as I remember there were a number of visits involved) or else it was one hell of a placebo effect. Part of the deal was that you could never tell anybody what she did. That used to exercise my childish imagination no end.
