SportsJoe have up that Petey has had appendix surgery and likely won't make it next week. Will have enough to be Fermanagh but hopefully he'll be back sooner rather than later. Stepped up in league when needed, stepped up last year 🐐

Wasn't named but did make bench wearing number 9 as replacement for Kennedy. Came on last few minutes for Canavan

So what is the solution here? Everyone wants to win and wants to be that bit more prepared than the opposition.
A club or Manager wanting to retain players can drop the training load but once results start to go against them....

I agree as well with that, it's a lose lose really. Now we're in this way I think it's hard to change it less if you get me. But I do think numbers will continue to go

Honest question for any adult players on here - do you actually enjoy playing Gaelic anymore?

It is so much commitment now with teams out on pitch 3 times a week and then expected to be in gym 2-3 times a week. Gone are the days of playing for enjoyment and it's even down in this way for teams in lower half of division 3 - I get they don't want to be there but making teams train on a Friday night and Sunday morning after the way weve had to live the last two years is making it harder and harder for players to commit.

Leagues didn't finish last year until December and teams were back out in February. Something has got to give or numbers will continue to dwindle in the smaller clubs in particular. It would be hard to blame 18/19/20 year olds as well as those with young family for not wanting to commit.

What is going on with Conor McKenna? Not on squad today by all accounts, he got his all Ireland. Doesn't seem interested and going by previous interviews he won't let it rule his life. A shame if packing it in already

Given the long convoluted county season with the green motion passed Option C is the best one if we want to get anything out of our county contingent for club football. A junior B championship is surely something that will appeal to clubs at the lower end of Division 3 also.
Option A same as - no thanks
Option B too long & will only end up retiring county men at the age of 27 by flogging them to death.
Option C - league over pre-championship & a decent rest period after.

Now is there any chance of releasing the 2022 fixtures please so a man can plan a life in the summer.

Plan a life AND play Gaelic in Tyrone? Behave 😀

Option A is the only logical one- B means half of all club games are starred.

Isn't option A basically just what we have at the minute, only difference is league over before the champo starts - that should be the case anyway in my opinion. Would be good to have that with a structure in place tho. It also means league starts in April and done in September. Then just champo which is long enough. Some of the commitment needed for players at the minute is getting ridiculous - leagues finished in December , back training in January and likely to play this year until November at least.

Option B would probably suit the division 2 clubs the best as they move up to 1B with a likely top 8 finish, although the thought of testing trying to squeeze 22 league games in and having at least 3 games after championship isn't great, especially for teams knocked out in first round of championship in September and stil having to wait 2 months until their league finishes but only get to play 3 more games

I have heard of 2 from Aghyaran, 1 GC, 1 Kildress and 2 Owen Roes players. Expecting 2/3 Moortown players but not until ulster campaign is won

Not expecting much more D2 players considering we have 3 Edendork and 3 Pomeroy players already plus players on the other teams fighting relegation in D1 on Sunday

With the training allowed to resume today, has anyone heard of any call ups? Surely a few dromore men will be up

Why is games on Sunday this week? I know some teams are basically finished but why not give the players a Saturday game to finish the season and alllw them the freedom to have a team night or whatever for the end on Saturday

Because the fixture makers probably aren't thinking of whether a club fancies a christmas night out on Saturday 11th Dec when they are sorting the fixtures. Clubs are free to agree a change, as many did this weekend past and most likely will, if played at all.

The last games have to be played at one time due to relegation and league champions not being confirmed and to keep it fair. Nobody wants to be playing league football in December and definitely not on a Sunday
