Laois / Re: 2019 All Ireland Football Qualifiers

Reality is the game will probably be tight enough for a while but Laois are further down the road development wise with Sugrue- Offaly can be happy with their season under Maughan but it will end this weekend baring a severe under performance from Laois and unless we in Laois can insert that mentaility into ourselves we will struggle unnecessarily against the like of Offaly. If this was Derry V Offaly no one would say Offaly will win this.

Leix were pulled out second.
No they weren't.
They were pulled out after Westmeath. Offaly were pulled out after Leix but ye were still the second team to be pulled out on that fixture.
One of the other teams should have been pulled out to see who played WH, then LS put back in and whoever was pulled out first had home advantage. It's not particularly fair that LS get home advantage on the back of what happened in the draw.
That being said, we've had two home games, we're due an away one.
LS were pulled out after WH, that is my point.

It was clear as day before the draw what would happen in such a scenario- now come down and take your beating and let that be the end of it.

He has given it two years and two Leinster Semi Finals albeit by draw but still he can't of been that bad. I doubt there be a room full of lads looking for the job to be fair and I presume Billy might go from 20s at the end of this season aswell after giving two years
Barring a disaster, I'd give Billy another year or two with the 20's.

I would aswell for sure- Two years tends to be the shift is all I was saying. If he stays, I think that would be a positive bar a tanking tomorrow

Better to be lucky than rich, that's a winnable draw.  Poor Kildare 😂😂😂

Kildare will have a chance in Newbridge.

I found it to be abit insulting John Horan saying Dublin success is down to volunteers, the volunteers in Laois and everywhere else for that matter are no less valuable or less effective than any volunteer in Dublin.

Absplutely is bright- between what we ahve at senior- decent U20 team, Minors in the Semi finals of Leinster and a couple of good development squads with good people in charge of them. Hopefully we see the rewards soon

Sadly Kildare are better then Laois at Minor hurling.

What a silly comment, teams go further than other teams because of the draw they get more often or not- Id of said our Minors would of beaten Offaly in normal time but who knows. The Minor Hurlers have put in some very good performances and should be proud of themselves.

There is no question for me John is the right man to lead Laois for many years to come even if beaten by Derry- double league promotion and a Leinster Final in two years, id of snapped your hand of for it after the O Flatharta /Creedon fiascos and what followed. Meath were just better in the forwards than we were in the backs. Derry game will be tight but it is a hard to place to go against a team who has a relatively good record in the qualifiers. Here is hoping for a big big performance in two weeks.

Bar numbers at underage I would think we are fairly equal now. We ahve fantastic facilities and rescources

You have got to be kidding. Spend a day going around some of the big club facilities in Dublin and you might change your mind. Kilmacud and Ballyboden alone have more resources and a bigger underage playing population than county Laois. In reality, if Dublin got it right all the rest wouldn't have a hope of competing with them.
But they won't. They're so big that brings its own issues. They can still only put 15 on the field. Throwing your hands up in the air isn't going to do much. Dublin have had these margins and are trying to capitalise on them for over a decade or more, and I don't see them dominating Minor All Ireland quite yet do you?

I was referring to our Intercounty facilities at OMP tbh. I see the point re the clubs and their facilties but at the end of the day can still only pick 26 on a match day play 15 of them.
