Not a great outing for Galway, and on the injury front Kerin and Sean kelly Not looking too good.
Was in wards hotel after match, mixed views from former stalwarts, some saying we couldn't be that bad, others saying it was mind games, and the scariest one we are gone back to lateral play and slow build up.As said in an earlier post if Galway were not going all out for this game Shane Walsh would have been taken off at first sign of injury.lets hope it's a blip and give the dubs a good old rattle!

Just listened to the GAA Hour on the drive home there and was surprised to hear that they were pretty much in agreement that Galway should rest players against Monaghan with an All-Ireland semi-final the following weekend. Their logic being that they are in the semi-finals already and shouldn't be bothered about avoiding Dublin as you're going to have to play them in either the semis or final anyway. Why risk all your top players in what is sure to be a hard hitting physical game against Monaghan with such a quick turnaround after. They compared it to having a league game with your club the weekend before a big championship match. Worst case scenario is Galway play their best side, lose the game to Monaghan anyway, pick up a few knocks and still have to face the Dubs who will likely have a low intensity glorified training session with Roscommon.

You're going to get well bet no matter how rested or not rested Dublin are. The only question left is if you'll last long enough to meet them, honestly.

Maybe roscommon can show us how to beat the dubs????

So all to play for still.kerry at home to an out of it kildare so scoring difference will be a big plus for kerry who will end up with 3pts.
Galway are through on 4pts
Monaghan on 3pts need to draw or win against Galway it will be some battle.galway trying to avoid the dubs Monaghan fighting to stay in the c/ship.

Well the dust has settled on what was a huge win for galway, the thoughts of "having" to go to Newbridge and get a result would not have sat well. They would prefer to get a result in Newbridge but at least have the cushion of a tough game at home v Monahan. As for yesterday I kept thinking kerry were going to explode to life, but full credit to Galway they chased everything and stopped kerry from playing, which is what they have done to mayo the last couple of years.Going forward it's a huge confidence boost, the loss of Conroy a blow but I believe the belief in themselves and their system will soar, how far it takes them is the big question.

Going on today's result involving roscommon,we could be in for a tough afternoon.
Was just looking back at the Galway v mayo match Jesus mayo missed a lot of chances.i know it was cagey that no one wanted to lose.
The game against roscommon Galway looked in trouble but did manage to turn it around,I'm just a bit fearful that we beat a poor team.Hopefully Ross are better than they showed today and Galway give a good account of themselves.

Shit or bust in the hyde next week whoever loses is out  it will be like a mini final.
Galway & kildare could be a similar encounter roll on tomorrow!!

Just bear in mind that team was sent in for match programme last wed/thu.

Latest news seems to suggest Michael Daly will start his first ch/ship game of the year,Barry Mc Hugh the man to lose out,a little bit more pressure on Shane Walsh as he will be taking any frees.Seems to suggest a more attacking formation as Daly is not the best at tracking back and defending.

Galway v Monaghan for a place in the All-Ireland semi-finals. Bank Holiday weekend, races weekend.

It'll be CHAOS!

I can't wait for the controversy.
The sad part about it is the game game could be a dead rubber if Galway lose first 2 games and Monaghan win theirs.

Current mayo management in job 3 years I believe and have no silverware. Will they be allowed continue?

Don't think they will want to. Nobody in Mayo cared about Connacht title other than it being an easier route to an AI final

Well in reality this mayo team have been in decline for the last 3 years and hence no connacht title, there demise has been written about the last 3 yrs as well so it is no surprise it has come to pass.mayo never trained as hard for this year's connacht encounter with  and just came up short had they won ther connacht title they would be still a serious outfit in the super 8s.
Age profile has finally caught up and the end for Clarke,Higgins,Boyle, and Andy Moran. All hard people to replace.
But as mayo posters say they owe nothing, and have plenty of connacht titles to show for it.

The Battle of Newbridge it was always going to be a tough match for either team,I think it will galvanise kildare,  with the off field shenanigans they have the moral victory, definitely give them the motivation for the on field victory as well.will they be good enough?on the carlow showing it will be a cakewalk for mayo but I have a sneaky feeling the week turnaround,
age profile, injurys and the weather will have a big impact on mayo.
On that basis in my face the ball prediction I am going for a kildare 2pts win.
