Add in Loughmacrory and Enniskillen Gaels

What was he doing with the Gaels outside of some free sessions with one of their underage teams?

Surely all the sessions he does are for free?😉

So anyone can email a county board with an allegation and they must stand down the manager?

Who has actually said that?

It's not so much as said that, but people have done it and it works. The case here in question I'm totally behind Mrs Gallagher my point is that anyone can send an email or go on to social media and make claims about someone.

Would you be happy if you had allegations (true or false) made public via social media that would have wider implications on your kids and job and that would have even more implications on caring for your children should you lose your job over it?

The courts are there for a reason, to settle these issues. Court by social media though seems to be the way of the world.

Nobody is saying the courts should not do their job but right back at the beginning of this the "suspended pending investigation" route was explained and what steps you would need to take before suspending the individual.

Derry had their own decision to make and steps to take. All of which have already been set out.

Put yourself in Derry CB's position if they did get that email from Nicola's dad.

Your response would be that due to the seriousness of the allegations that he should go to the police with them.

In the meantime you'd have a duty of care to all to face Rory with what you've been informed about and as we've seen from his release, he probably told them (or would have told them) that these claims have been "dealt with" during the custody case and he's been cleared and now has custody of the children.

What do Derry CB do next?

They really can't be ignoring an email of that type all the same, that's really bad if they did.

The Derry Co Board are annoying me more and more with their no statement bullshit.

Gallagher deserves the book to be thrown at him and I hope he does time for the awful abuse he has dished out to his poor wife over the years.

However maybe I'm being naive but I can't see why the major witch hunt against the Derry board in the wake of all this.

They may or may not have got an email but by not speaking out it's not like they were protecting him like the Catholic Church used to protect paedophiles who were free to abuse again and again.

I would think most of this abuse was in the past so I'd think it is unlikely that he would be offending again in the same way.

Before I get a written battering I'd like to say I totally abhor all violence.
He would still be there only croke park stepped in and gave them the ultimatum. It did happen well in the past and there in lyes the problem. A few Derry posters like yourself think the same, it's nothing to do with yous. Your mindset seems to be it happened well in the past so he's unlikely to do it again.

Didn't see et or penalties but I couldn't believe when Morgan was in the parade. Radio said he fouled on the 65 and it was brought in for descent for mcguigan to send it to penalties. Who was doing the talking back??

As someone said, he was 3yrs at Fermanagh, 3yrs at Donegal, 3 yrs at Donegal going further back. Why this is only seeing the light of day now,
His teams get Klopped out. You can't run the intensity model indefinitely.

There's only one victim in this wildweasel and it's not your beloved Derry.

I've fully swung from a Derry win by 6+ last week to now an Armagh win.

Like, it's not as if the Derry players can say...let's win it for Rory.

Let's win it for the fans?

Dunno if that soccer 'fans' thing transfers well to GAA.

Maybe it doesn't matter a jot but I've always felt Gallagher had that team playing well above their talent.

Supporter's?

The named half forward line of Frank Burns, Michael O'Neill and Kieran McGeary were awful, they really struggled. Burns didn't even offer his usual assurance and steady influence in the sweeper role. Oguz has to come in ahead of O'Neill or McGeary. Peter Harte also anonymous again when the game was in the melting pot. The Mattie and McKernan substitutions didn't make any sense.
In saying that Canavan was superb, Kennedy excellent, McCurry and Kilpatrick good - referee very sore on Tyrone especially in the first half to keep Monaghan in it.
Looking down the line Tyrone need to get more scores into the team if they are to make any impact on this years championship - in my opinion that has to involve 2/3 of Ruairi Canavan, Sludden and Oguz in the starting team.
Scored 1-17 today. Kind of get what you are saying but sludden and oquz aren't scoring forwards. Surely it's the defense is the problem.

Listened to Eamonn McGee on  OTB podcast about the ongoing shenanigans within Dongel County Board - looks like a right mess and one that Tyrone were lucky to have avoided over the last number of years. More luck than design, in my humble opinion.
McGee talks about the pressure of commercialisation and how county boards of today need to be more commercially literate and the important of having the right people in the right seats.
maybe it could have been tyrone in this mess instead of Donegal? Outside of Dublin Im not sure many counties have the right model in place
Can u explain what u mean in more detail please Stan.

I know Derry play this way too, mainly due to lack of scoring forwards, but this defensive style does not suit Armagh, they better forwards, defenders not as good. Less say about both goalkeepers. Armagh not win a, Ulster Championship this way, foreby a all-Ireland.

There's too many players in gaelic football nowadays...who do nothing and I mean that.

About 8 players on each team is to have no positive effect on the game. Pass the ball sideways, kick a free back/sideline backwards. It rampant in gaelic football nowadays.  They have no role jbut to run about and pass the ball 5 yards sideways.
That's the problem when there's 30 players and only one ball. Wonder what sort of game it would be with two refs and 2 footballs

6 missing from the team that started  the all Ireland and evenmore than that from the wider panel have left. The team is definitely in transition. Added to that that Mattie and Harte are coming to an end it's going to be hard this year.

Have the CBS taking their eye of the ball. Players seem to have spent the week doing publicity photos. Be interesting to see how it plays out on Sunday

Was the main reason in club u17 being played in the summer was so it wouldn't interfere with county minor football, which will be over by that.

A nothing story.  Playing for club as father and grandfather played for. Close thread.

When a connection to the Club it should be a more smoother transfer, but McCarrons club Currin have objected to the transfer.

It wouldn't want to drag on like Eamon Fennell switching to St Vincents.

https://www.joe.ie/uncategorized/eamon-fennell-finally-allowed-to-switch-to-st-vincents-14823
That's a big shock there. Surely he discussed it with Currin before putting in the transfer. It should be noted that Currin are not a pub team as suggested by some clown earlier in the thread. They might be a junior team but were paying Colm Courtney ex Fermanagh player to train them. Didn't make much head way but they trained hard for a small club.
