6 clean sheets in a row for Everton

The sky 6 certainly don't look as strong this season

Could be the year to do it

United scored a wonder goal v Everton. That was what broke the deadlock in that game otherwise it'd still be 0-0

Give back the 10 points and Everton would be hunting a European spot

Hurling is just a much, much harder sport to play and coach

Cost wise for a family or club football is a much cheaper sport to run

Hurling is gone more like rugby in terms of physicality and Paudie Butler was highlighting that 15 years ago!

Gaelic football is gone more like basketball

Kids don't play sport in most schools at break time

Never mind play sports out in the street or estate green areas

Everything is now organized for them by adults, whereas they learned more from impromptu 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 games

Don't forget they were paying the wages of icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Signed him for €40 million.
Couldn't play the player, couldn't cancel his contract, couldn't sell him.
Not one bit of mitigation for this
Nor construction inflation costs on the stadium

And yes, Usmanov was sponsoring the training ground through his companies, would probably have supplied all the steel for the stadium and in all likelihood have bought naming rights for the new stadium

Everton screwed by the Russians and their invasion

Money tap from Usmanov turned off

Man City and Chelsea must have much better lawyers. Surely this points deduction will be appealed

The simple fact of the matter is that we're not a soccer nation, and bar the mercenary/granny rule days of the past, never really have been.

We have always in the past produced a Giles, Brady, Whelan, McGrath, Keane (x2), Duff, Given, Irwin. What ever helped form those players into what they became? Hardly from our underage system, but we fluked these players somehow.

I'm guessing these lads were Soccer only. None of those lads really played Gaelic.

Was talking to a Dub a couple of years ago and he said James McCarthy was a super Soccer player, would have made it at some level cross channel. But culturally he was never going to give up Gaelic football.
The Dubs line was that ''He could be living like a King (on soccer wages) but gave the chance up for a few AI medals that he keeps at home in a sock while working for a middle class wage with AIB.

And that's it, most of our athletic lads go for the Cultural option.
The easy option
Much harder to make it as a pro footballer

Feel sorry for the lad
Dysfunctional conservative family and no real world experience after being home schooled

using reward points is a great way to stay in expensive hotels for peanuts

anyone paying 4/500 euro a night for a hotel are off their head
What are these reward points you mentioned here?
