Scientifically speaking, it would be easier to build a time machine to go forward in time.

So i'm headin to Old Trafford on Saturday 16 May to see Man Utd beat Arsenal and win an 18th league title, which will hopefully shut the Liverpool fans up for a while....

Then i'm going to September 2035 to see my son score 3-10 to guide Fermanagh to their twentieth all-ireland title....

Fermanagh cows

You have no prize winning cows.  You have never had a prize winning cow.  All the other farmers around you have had prize winning cows. Its not fair. You have some bullocks for breeding but none of them can get it up and over.  However, in your defence, half your field is covered in a big puddle and the other half is inhabited by goats. The goats don't like the cows. However, they have started to breed with them.

Dromore cows

You have a few good cows who have won prizes. One of your cows is one of the best cows in Ireland. However, when you put this cow in a field with another farmer's cow he kicks the other cows in their teats. None of the other farmers like this cow but you are blinded because he's your cow and helps you win prizes

Fintona cows

You have cows for beef and cows for milking and cows for beef and milking.  You don't like your cows being for beef and milking. You don't milk these cows any more.  These cows are your best cows but they find a hole in the ditch and head to another field and another farmer.  The remaining cows never win any more prizes.

Errigal Ciaran cows

All the farmers are Hindus.  They have one cow they worship and they call it God.  This cow now makes a lot of money from media appearances and cow events throughout the country

They tried that Guinness Red in England for a while.  Brutal altogether.  Watered down, tasteless, crap.  It didn't last very long

Now I don't know if Guinness Extra Cold is that prevalent in Ireland yet - I doubt it - but in England its the norm and many bars have done away with regular Guinness and only have this extra cold stuff.

In one small irish bar (that didn't have normal Guinness on tap) I was told by the owner "sure only oul men drink that regular Guinness and sure you're not an oul man are ya?"

So what's the story? Why is this Guinness Extra Cold taking over?

Just heard about this from a guy in the states - seems like the Irish stupidity is travelling round the world fast....

Good write up on John Mitchels in today's Irish Post.  They put up a good show for GAA in England.  Good to see a Fermanagh captain too (though byjaysus that's a dodgy beard he has!)

Sisn't the Impartial Reporter or Fermanagh Herald run a similar sort of thing a few years back to identify the best players over the years? Think the readers voted for it as well.  A lot of those pen pics seem very familiar....

As far as I remember the rules stated "one entry per email address" and also "one entry per person"

Sure if you thought it was only a requirement for multiple email addresses why would you use an alter ego (and what would be the point in the rule from GL's viewpoint? the rule is clearly there so that everyone enters one team to try to negate the potential for an outcome such as the Irish News competitions where you have boys like Fearon and the McGurns submitting 20 teams and claiming to know it all when one of them gets lucky)

Myself, the wife, the brother and the alter-ego all in the top 100.

The Gaelic Life editorial team appear to be keen readers of the gaaboard, based on their "what the boards say" section for the summer games.  Disqualification beckons after your confession O'Neill.  Although you may not be alone...3 McGourteys, 2 Doherty's,2 Digney's and 2 Boyles in the top 20....

Brian Roper

THE tombstone carver from Corker is the county's current favourite little big man. The record appearance holder has been a fixture for the past 14 years and has the ability to kick truly memorable points against high-quality opposition.

Unfortunately, this will be the last day that I am able to post the IN lists. I would like to make it clear that I would not have posted the Fermanagh list. I would have cut and pasted the bit about Peter McGinnity, but as with Monaghan, no one else from the Erne county has achieved greatness.[/b]

I don't necessarily argue that Peter McGinnity is the only great from Fermanagh, but you publish a Donegal list with Brian Roper, Devenney etc on it.  IMO Barry Owens, two time allstar and probably among the best two or three full backs of this decade, is more of a great than either of those two. But hey it's just an opinion right?
