Anyone heard the Editors new album yet ??

I've listened to it a few times.

I think it's not bad, a few decent enough songs, but not as good as their first album.

This is a disgrace!! The game should never be moved to Londonderry. What happened when Louth got a home draw with Tyrone last year? It went neutral. Theres no way the Armagh Board will stand for thsi. It should be in Clones. Or maybe Omagh. And it should be on TV - who wants to watch a couple of second raters like Down & Meath (outside there own counties)??

Sam Maguire Roll of Honour -:

Meath 7
Down 5
Armagh 1

QuoteBit harsh there Dinny.

Come on Declan, Walstad isn't even ranked in the top 100 (open to correction) and still couldn't put him away. Dunne should never have quitted the Freddie Roach gym. Dunne has talent and I meant the fight was a joke but he needs to step up in class and I just feel he's been protected too much...

Walstad is ranked 104 in the world with Boxrec.

The opening 3 rounds of the Hatton fight were cracking, Hatton dominated the first two he was very gung-ho, Castillo came into it more in the third and I thought we had a classic on our hands but the body thump from Hatton in the fourth was as a body blow as good as you'll see. This victory sets Hatton up nicely now, he could be the real deal...

He is the real deal, he's proved it already. The performance against Tzsyu was fantastic and that body shot against Castillo was remarkable. The only man he should avoid is Mayweather. Cotto is the fight he should be making, that would be a classic. Best thing about Hatton is how sound a bloke he his, he hasn't let any of his rise to stardom go to his head at all.

I've not really seen that much of Bernard Dunne as I live in England - can any true boxing fans tell me is he good enough to win a world title and stay at the top for a while? I would have thought he'd be a bit short of the likes of Rafael Marquez just yet from reading about him and what little I've seen of him.

Very high scoring by louth and I see roscommon won 7-27 to 1-06 against fermanagh. They both must be sharp teams this could turn out to be a cracking competition and very open. Donegal and Tyrone won't be far away either.

Shows the massive gap in standards between the best and worst counties in the country in hurling - Fermanagh beaten by almost 40 points by Roscommon who in turn were beaten by around 60 points in the Christy Ring Cup last year by Antrim who in turn would probably lose to Kilkenny by about 30 points if they played in a championship match.
I know hurling has more scores in it than football but the gap between top and bottom is nowhere near as bad. The gap in class between different counties in hurling is depressing for the future of the game.

Is this not a heck of a result for Offaly?

Correct me if I'm wrong but have the Cats not been hammering Offaly at all grades for years now.

Antrim Hurling - late 70's/early 80's Cushendall and Ballycastle

Derry football - late 80's/early 90's Lavey and Bellaghy - remember taking a mate, who didn't really like football, to watch these two play at Ballinascreen once around 94 or 95, he loved it.

We have as much talent as we had in 1993. Maybe Gaelic football is more competitive these days. But we have a team of 15 men almost as good as the reat. That could be enough given the right man in charge. The odds are it wont happen though. An ulster title some time is achievable, other than that good runs in the qualifiers is all we can hope for. AI Semi finals perhaps. Unless things change.

I'd have to disagree Lynchboy, the 93 panel would be a fair bit better than the current one. Obviously, PB would be a better forward than those in 1993, but there aren't many players in the current panel fit to lace the boots of McKeever, Scullion, Downey, McGurk, Tohill, McGilligan, Barton and even the likes of Heaney who went through a heck of a lot of hard work.

Armagh are now 20/1 to win Sam with Paddy Power & Ladbrokes - I'm seriously thinking of putting something on with those odds. I thought they were impressive enough yesterday, considering their shit league form and they can only get stronger especially in the forward line.

As a gael living in England with sky digital and access to BBC 1 & 2 Northern Ireland, are there any Ulster Championship matches being shown live this year?  It'll keep me out of the pubs!!!

I live in the uk and watch all live champioiship games via Setanta - I pay a subscription of £15 per month. At best, BBC NI will possibly show the final live.

Unless your Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal it is good.

Spurs have probably spent more on their squad than Arsenal.

Very sad news, involved in probably one of the best fights ever against Castillo.
