Think for Northern teams, the half years work well as it leaves lads playing with their own school year the whole way up.

Brilliant idea I think, although not really fair on teams from other counties when it comes to Munster/AI Championship. Also didn't know until yesterday that Kerry had a senior championship earlier in the year with just the club teams and that the winners of that go into Munster club if a regional team wins the championship.

I don't know about all of ye but sometimes I just wonder. It's incredibly difficult to break on through this dark feeling. I'm a young guy, middle class and a well paid professional. I have seen a counsellor and psychotherapist in the last couple of years. I've stopped drinking(even though I drank f**k allin earnest), I've been swimming twice a week for months but I've started to isolate myself once again. I don't know if it's the dark evenings but I'm not replying to friends texts to go for a night out or cinema or whatever. The thought of going out with them feels me with anxiety due to guilt about having a bit of craic.I can't break this cycle!!! I think I'm doing well but then these self depreciating thoughts crops up again. My wife works extremely hard as do I and the kids are at a very difficult age however she's definitely not mixing her words one bit with me. I feel I do shit loads and sacrifice a lot but I really do get it with both barrels from her which is totally unjustified I feel. I certainly respect her a lot more. I haven't had a sleep in, in nearly 7 years and I do all I can to keep the peace. Actually a couple of my friends have stopped contacting me because I cancel arrangements a lot of the time. I've no connection to the rest of my family because they have their own shit going on and my mother only cares about her partner and when her next night out is. My children are the most important people in my life and I would cut my hands off for them. I remember how much passionate I used to be about Mayo winning Sam and such laughs and banter I'd have with the lads.Right now though its just about me surviving and I feel so alone with a wish that just someone would give me a f**king break and realise that I'm really doing my level best. My heart is in the right place all the time but at lot of those closest to me want to really make me feel as small as possible. I'm not going to give up on it as my children are so beautiful and vunerable but f**k me it's getting so hard. I know I'm my own worst enemy isolating myself but I feel so guilty 'enjoying' myself when I should be fresh and there for my kids and wife all the time.
I apologise if this sounds a little long winded and self indulgent but I just wanted to write down my thoughts and place them here in what I hope is an unassuming  and not a judging place like this forum.  :-\
Fair play to ye. Keep er f**king lit and focus on all the good things you have lad.

Has a political campaign ever shot itself in the foot as badly as the Conservatives have the last few days??

Labour haven't even done anything the Tories are just losing the plot!

If said it on here in the past. Corbyn wiped the floor with the conservatives in 17. I'm beginning to think the conservatives have learnt nothing. Is "get brexit done" the new "strong and stable"?

Don't forget "Britain deserves better"!!!!!!  ;D
Yeah much better than the past 10 years of Tory cuts.

When are the spuds due to be picked in the Athletic Grounds. I know there was a game before hand but the pitch is very very bad

Double headers a bad idea but lack of stewards and playable pitches elsewhere

It'll be great for the Ulster club camogie and hurling finals next week - great for the small ball game!!!!!!!!!!

Don't think it's fair on the players to play on that next week.
In all fairness the groundstaff are superb. Horrible evening most other pitches and that game wouldn't  have gone ahead.

Can't argue with Cluxton getting POTY. Kickouts on the money all year as usual, saved a penalty and another excellent save in the final. Glad O'Shea got the nod ahead of Clifford but both were sublime this year. Howard at CHB ahead of Boyle is a joke.

Rock for me all day long ahead of Mannion as well.

Ahead? Both won All stars.
For YPOTY I mean.

As regards the Shamrock Poppy, it is different from the normal poppy on that it just remembers the Irish soldiers who fought in WW1 and the monies raised stay in Ireland. While I wouldn't wear one myself I think it's important to remember that many Irishmen, encouraged by people like John Redmond, fought in WW1 on the understanding that Ireland would get Home Rule as a result. I can understand why some would want to recognise their sacrifice.
Poor fellas duped by the Brits and sent to be cannon fodder. Not unlike the ordinary Brits who died in WW1 as well.

Sinn Fein need to get out of here and let Hanna have a run at it ... it's a done deal if they do sure McDonnell was useless and nearly ousted Pengelly last time!

Sinn Fein have no interest in the SDLP being successful. They would rather get to the situation where they are the only voice for nationalism in the north.
Looks like the situation at the minute anyway.... sdlp=unionists dressed as nationalists.

It's doing my nut in already some Tory **** on talking about their message of "getting Brexit done, an extra 20,000 policemen and more funding for the NHS and Education"

As if it wasn't the Tories austerity that culled the police numbers and defunded the NHS and education  in the first place... also they've had a majority for 3 years and couldn't deliver Brexit how is it possible these horrible b**tards are going to be returned with a majority??!!

We get destroyed for saying people who voted for Brexit are stupid well they're not exactly helping their case!!

I think Boris will get in too!!  :'(
Seen a post today that the 20,000 extra police won't even cover those that will retire. The Tories are absolute vile and how anyone could vote for them is beyond me, but similar to the DUP here they'll throw out the usual crap about the other side and idiots will still vote for them, even though they are a pack of self serving fools who couldn't give a toss about the average Joe Bloggs.
