Woolly is spot on. These winter competitions should be gotten rid of. Completely meaningless.

Portlaoise, Port and Graigue into semi finals. Big urban areas. Just need them to start producing senior county players now.

Super game in Port tonight. Rosenallis 3-13 Courtwood 0-19.
Courtwood were dead and buried at half time, 9 or 10 points down and nearly pulled off a great comeback.
Rosenallis are very impressive really. Young, fast and can score. The worry for them would be conceding 19 points to a Courtwood attack that probably isn't as good as Emo's.

As someone said there's a rule or bye law to cover area teams being relegated but given the county board's track record, it wouldn't amaze me if it could be challenged😁

Mountmellick, Arles, Clonaslee and Ballyfin to battle to avoid the drop in my opinion.

Prob the poorest standard or Jumior teams in recent years...Park should win this but they struggled to beat a division 5 Camross team who were missing their best player and didn't look too bothered!
Based on that result you'd have to edge the likes of Graigue, The Heath, Kilcavan and Joseph's ahead of Park

Former All-Star returns after seven-year absence

Was pure class. Blistering pace, power and balance. Could play any position on the pitch.
And the Lillies hate him. Gotta love Tom!!😁

Emo are probably odds on to win this.
Even though Rosenallis beat Timahoe last week, Timahoe if they get Sean Ram, Damien O'Connor and that Lennon lad back, are the only team who might stop them.
Rosenallis are OK but not good enough to win this.
Portlaoise second team isn't as strong as last year's and I'd rule them out.
Courtwood without Luttrell and Doyle won't have enough. Could reach semi.
Annanough unlucky to draw Timahoe in the losers section. Probably looking at a relegation play off.
And The Rock or Barrowhouse will join them in that. Hard to call that game. The winners won't go much further, the losers could well be edged out by Annanough's experience provided they're not distracted by senior commitments.

Has to be Park Ratheniska or Kilcavan to win this surely?
Unless Graigue have the numbers?

Logic would say Ratheniska and Kilcavan would have the best chance given its their first teams, but can be hard to judge at this level. 2nd teams of senior clubs can be very strong some years, usually their teams have a blend of youth and experience so if a club has been doing well at minor and u-21 the last few years they may have a good few younger players who are on the fringe of making their first team but not quiet ready for senior. This sort of team can be very dangerous at this level.
True. Joseph's would fit that profile too but the loss of so many lads will impact on what could have been a very good junior team.

Sarsfields pretty much had no minor team this year either. Played one league game I think and pulled out of the championship.

Can see wins for Emo, Rock, Timahoe and Portlaoise in the first round.

Portlaoise are nailed on to beat Arles.
Joseph's will take care of clonaslee annanough combo.
Graigue should win the derby.
Strad comfortable v heath.
A Killeen by 4/5 v port.
Hard to call the other 3 games. Ballyfin had a bad league but they always do!

Looking forward to the Longford game. Great to give support to up and coming young lads in the county. These lads are the ones we really need to nurture on now. I like the management set up with Dempsey too. Talks a lot of sense. Sure to be a bigger challenge compared to Louth match but will be interesting to see the new prospects play a competitive game.

What's the management team?
Same as minors I thought. Who Dempsey is I dont know.
