Reserve c'ship final tonight against the auld enemy. They are favourites because they have some seniors playing due to the fact they played killyman in the 1st round and didn't have to play Richard Thorton for example. he will be a big threat agianst us. Expect a tight passionate affair.

We beat Donaghmore by 4 pts in the League Cup semi final last night in Galbally. We were up 7pts with about 6 mins left, comfortbale second half for us. Both teams had about 3/4 players missing of note. Good weekend for us the reserves putting errigal away and the seniors continuing to produce the results.

Clonoe are absolutely flying, will anyone be able to stop them this season?

Threre will be carrickmore, dromore and arboe, all very capable of stopping us. But that is missing the point we have made serious progress this season. We are a very young team and it was essential we made progress. We never expected to win the c'ship this year, but we needed to make the progress that helps us to believe we are capable within the next couple of years..

Clonoe 4-10 Errigal CiarĂ¡n 1-5

The game was played in Clonoe. Tight enough afair  ;), the Errigal goal was reseult of our keepers mistake. The second half we minced them. Errigal only scored 3 points to our 3gls and 5 pts in the second half. We played well and were physically to strong for them.

We played Arboe on Friday night in the 1/4 final of the Jim Devlin Cup and we lost out CHB David Hanna to a freak accident. He fell, very similar to Sean Cavanaghs fall and broke his two wrists. A real big lost for us. Think the semi final is on Sunday according to the Tyrone web site against Donaghmore. Makes the game against C'more in the c'ship tougher to win.

Was reading Cassidy's bit about Clonoe. All very good but I read between the lines that he is already making excuses for a heavy defeat by Carmen.... Too young.... Not enough experience  etc etc.   Carmen will hammer them I think.

As far as I know that interview was given in the changing room after defeating yourselves on Thursday evening, so he wouldn't have known at that stage who we were going to get in the draw. Interesting piece and it simply said where we are at in this moment in time. Sure we don't mind being underdogs.

Wee Roddy, Orangeman, Snapperied and Loughshore all quiet today. I was expecting a bit more banter.

Thats fair enough. I know the draw with Down messed up the possibility of replays being sorted within a time frame suitable to all.

Any dates given for the 1/4 finals?

Are these guys on the CCC not intelligent. Could they for one minute might have figured a possible draw in some of the games and planned accordingly. It is a joke

Possibly. But tell me, from a Clonoe perspective, would you rather have had 5 days notice for a championship fixture (as per the official guide) after Down beat Tyrone in the middle of June (which would have allowed for a replay 5 days later) or would you prefer to have a set date for a month / 6 weeks in advance which allows teams prepare properly with the possibility of a delayed replay?

Well let me ask you a similar question. Why could the replay not have been played tonight, three days later or Wednesday which is 5 days later. This still allowed the county squad if it was played tonight, 13 days and if played on Wednesday 10 days to prepare for Louth

Dromore and Omagh Replay on 15th August.

That is just plain silly, only in the GAA and in Mickeys world does replays occur ONE MONTH after the drawn game...what a joke.

Earliest it can be played considering the holiday period for clubs is now in effect, and that the qualifiers will be in full swing by the time they're over.

What do you make of your draw, mucker? Doing it the hard way?

We not getting much luck with the draw. Errigal and then Carrickmore. well at least we will not start favourites which will help us focus the mind. Carrickmore I am sure are delighted with the draw. I mean getting a team that is just promoted from last years second division. Handy enough for them ;)

Omagh where mighty in the first half. They kicked some of the best scores likely to be seen in the Championship. I think Dromore's experience was key to them grinding out a draw. While both teams had chances to win it in the closing minutes, Omagh made some silly mistakes. They dropped an easy chance into Wards hands (Ward did well to clear it), give up a sideline kick within Dromores 45 due to time wasting and give away a scoreable free kick due to a foul commited after they where awraded the free. All this in the last ten minutes. I think Dromore can count themselves lucky Omagh wasted these chances.

Agree with you that Omagh were very good in first half, should have at least a goal to put them 5/6 up at half time, but I dont agree with you about second half. How Dromore failed to put Omagh out of their misery in the second half only they will know. They dominated the second half and Omagh were the complete opposite of themselves in the second period. They only scored twice in this period and that was two frees, the last one being very doubtful to my mind. There movement and ball winning ability up front in this second period was atrocious.  Dromore wasted a number of good chances to to win the game by 2/3 pts. Justin Mc Mahon was IMo the best player on show.

Sludden gave us nothing and only for the talk of him drinking in tiffys (which he rarely does) he would have been fair. The tides were turned against him before the throw in meaning he had to be harsh on us. Mark lougrahn was being fouled at every ball he went for  so how can you say he didnt touch the ball, how was he meant to?
considering we were missing paul quinn, cormac mcginley, ronan mcrory, eoin gormley and caolan tierney 3 points defeat isnt the worst.

real sour grapes. I felt that we sshould have had three tap over frees in the 1st 15 minutes. We had 2 real quality players missing also in Shane O'Hagan and Shane Cooney. As for 3 pts defeat FFs sakes ,count yourselves lucky that we are so young and inexperienced. If we has more experience we would have put you away by 7/8 pts easily. Ref had nothing to do do with it.

What a night. Great show from the lads. As one of the posters said we were extremely organised. They scored 3 from play (including the goal) we should have won by 7/8 pts,IMO we were that much better on the night. I felt the ref was sore on us for the first 20 minutes especially not giving three very obvious scoring frees, and then giving errigal a tap over free for the goalie shielding the ball from going over the end line, stuff you see all the time, but  after that he was fine and gave us one free in the second half that was an errigal free for a high tackle on harte. I know Ec Unique says they were missing a few, but we were also missing two good footballers which levels matters. Cassidy made some very useful switches, especially moving Burke unto daisy, Hanna unto young Harte and the timing of Ryan O'Neills introduction (scored 2 from play) and the switch of two forwards which helped them both in the last ten. Looking forward to the rest of the games tonight and over the weekend. we can all dream. Clonoe Abu. :)
