Ironically the conservatives have been returned to Westminster by Scotland voting for Tories. So working class Scotland have kept them in power.

Patently wrong. The torys have got the numbers due to the English vote as ever. Again their percentage vote in Scotland is lower than what they get in England or Wales. 12 MPs in Scotland only contributes to their numbers.

Took the Hung Parliament 5/1 offer from SkyBet a few weeks ago! 👍

Course you did, king of the bets posts, after they happen ;D
Missed out on better odds elsewhere, too.
Angry with the Scottish electorate. Large swathes of rural Scotland voted tory. The farmers will be whinging even more when all their grants disappear. Turkeys the lot of them.

Great win for Aghagallon yesterday and have certainly hit the ground running in Div 1 and will only continue to improve with this young team when they get a year in the division.  Nice to see St Johns sitting top, had a lot of very good young players over the last few years and always the worry that it can stop there.

In div 2 Ballymena are making heavy work of getting straight back up - always a very competitive league and few games can be taken for granted apart from Antrim and Ardoyne of course who are struggling like many thought they would.  Also Rasharkin seem to have carried the momentum from the end of last season through into this campaign and are answering doubts I had about them though came heavily unstuck yesterday.  Dunloy though not kicking on as I had hoped they might.

As for div 3 - what is going on with Glenravel - a lot of weeks ago looked like they were going to storm it - heavy defeat to OD's yesterday after having taken a big loss at home to Sarsfields means OD's now breathing down their necks and with momentum shift could find themselves in the unthinkable position of staying in Div 3 another year - and a weak Div 3 compared to previous years at that.  Surely Sarsfields are nearly home and hosed now?

Can't really add anything to this but thanks for the summary. Invaluable to exiles like me. 🇮🇪👍

Do you think that some of us forlorn Armagh people are going to go into the Laois local forum looking for sympathy?

What the hell is this all about ? ? ? ? ?

You could try reading the previous post and mine and stop typing nonsense.

Like my nonsense! Used the 'unread posts' function and thought this was a general thread on qualifiers! Doh!

Just home and its sad to say we are at the very bottom of the pile now. We are a Div 4 outfit, a Div 4 management set up and a Div 4 administration. Simple as, no buts and no ifs.
Since we have to enter the qualifiers i honestly hope we get the toughest of draws and see where it takes us but id prefer if we just called it off right now. So so disappointed.

This post might make sense if everyone knew who 'we' are. Always thought it would be useful if we had our county allegiance as part of our sidebar profile.

No shocks at all in any of the league games over the weekend.

I see Curly McIlwaine has started a new website covering Antrim GAA, looks to be a good job.
link?

Sorry ned, thought I stuck it in..

No worries. Thanks Mochara.

Brendan's speech from the pitch side,  "I was born into Celtic"

Q "the club has fallen in love with you and I get the feeling you have fallen in love with the club?"

Brendan "No, I was born into Celtic, there has been no growing, only pride for me and a huge privilege to manage at Celtic. I was born into Celtic, into a Celtic family and always wanted to manage Celtic, to come here now  was just the right time for me  and  the club, we have created an identity this season and hopefully we can build upon this and improve over the coming years, to achieve what we achieved this year is a really spectacular achievement."

What a man. The realisation that we had done it when Rogic scored was immense. That quote should be at the top of every page on this thread.

Just take the top 6 from England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France directly and be done with the charade of champions league. Add in a couple of token teams from a 10 round qualifier to make up the rest.

Why? Why do that? Why just make it easier and easier for a handful of clubs to forever perpetuate their position?

At one stage Celtic were one of the biggest clubs in Europe, why shouldn't they be allowed a fair chance of regaining that. Torino, PSV, Eintracht Frankfurt, Benfica, to name a few, were once huge teams in Europe that have fallen away. Why would you think it correct to freeze the current crop of large teams forever, not allow them to fade but to exclude the chance of others rising?

If you want a fair competition then return to straight knock out and see the giants quake when they realise one slip-up could put them out of Europe to a minnow. But they don't want that, they want six games so any slip can be rectified. That is organised cheating.

It's a boring competition because all the risk has been taken out for the current giants. Give the smaller clubs a chance of knocking them out in round one and then we will have dispensed with the charade

Think foxcommander is alluding to the fact that soon the top four from the big leagues will be parachuted straight into the group stages.

That was tough to watch but as ballinaman said it was a perfect tactical performance. Ajax had one chance of note near the end. United have been unlucky with injuries this year. Different proposition next year. I think they might fare better without Ibrahimovic and as long as Rashford isn't used as the lone striker.
