General discussion / Re: RTE on FREEVIEW
September 21, 2009, 01:06:46 PM
I did a scan at the weekend and I can get the audio for a number of RTE stations but no picture. I was suprised to even get the audio as my freeview is from a very old set top box. Does this mean I might get a picture in the future or does this mean I will not get a picture in the future.

Wow this is so sad a human beings life is being ruined in the full glare of the media. Imagine if someone posted your medical records in the public domain, STI's and all. I fear this will have a very sad ending all round. Perhaps the South Africans now need to look at their role in this. Perhaps they never thought it would come to this and that Caster would just win a Gold medal and bring glory to their country. Just so feckin sad!

I agree with Hollow's first paragraph RE; premier league clubs.  I personally dont give a toss about  the World Cup, penalty shootouts are the only bits of craic i enjoy. BTY cant see the argies making it.

To be fair to Coughlan he was 4th in the Olympics twice. He became a world champion and he was a world record holder. I do think he is well up there. I would have to go for Roche just ahead of Delaney. Pat O'Callaghan also a strong contender.

General discussion / Re: The ever gracious Paddy Barnes
September 07, 2009, 12:02:27 PM
Agreed seanie. Paddy didnt get much coverage fron the bbc until this ourburst did he?  Also things happen in the heat of battle and on reflection he will realise he made a fool out of himself, much like Brian Cody yesterday launching an attack on Marty for asking aquestion that any interviewer would have asked. I bet Brian would have been more measured in his response if it were not so close to the heat of battle. As Seanie says dont hang these guys they dont get paid and they provide us with so much enterainment.

So what was the reason for intervention? You say Nationalists challenged  the government. I say to you the the Nationalists asked for basic human rights. Stormont choose to respond as if this were a challenge, the rest as they say is history.

GAA Discussion / Re: Mickey Harte joins the Irish News
September 04, 2009, 02:04:55 PM
I was at the game and listened to RTE radio where I think it was Bernard Flynn who said that Conor Gormley has just got a punch 'off the ball'' but sure its all part of the game. The comments on RTE Radio throughout the game were beyond belief to be honest. They even slated John Bannon when he tried to sort out an off the ball mêlée saying there was nothing going on that he needed to look at.

Its about time Micky wrote something interesting, the Irish News is like all other publications all about making money, if they think Mickey can up their sales they don't care what crap he writes. I think it has gone very tabloid and I never buy it. Rant Over..for now

General discussion / Re: How happy are you?
September 04, 2009, 01:22:10 PM
I am really happy where I am in Life now. I have a great wife and great kids. I have to say I have made many horrible decisions in the past but if I had not made those mistakes in the past I could never have got to where I am now. Learn from your mistakes and looks to the future.

BTW.

PHP Be careful, 8 hours on the piss is not a solution to any problem. Careful with the drink and give yourself time, things look more positive when your decisions and not affected by Alcohol.
