How much of a w**ker is Wayne Rooney?! And Ferguson has the nerve to slag Bayern Munich!!! No wonder the world hates Man Utd.

What he do? I didn't watch game as I had far more important things to be doing.

Wasn't suprised to hear United got another injury time goal they always have lady luck on their side.
Still think it's to late for Liverpool to overtake City even if we win against West Ham.

WTF is all that about? Both these men are married (to women) I believe. What makes them want to kiss each other after scoring a goal? Wait til it hits the GAA.

To be honest I'd of kissed either of them myself about an hour ago

The limited amount I've seen of Tosic he looked really tidy but a bit light weight. I wasn't sure he had the pace to make up for his lack of physique. He didn't get much first team time to be honest and I think worse players than him have got loads of chances. Is he on loan at Koln?

Talk of Di Maria (Benfica) coming and possibly Rossi coming back in the summer. All on borrowed money less whatever is received for Berbatov is anyone is willing to take him off United's hands. Di Maria looks an exciting prospect.

Yeah he's on loan there. Was impressive tonight. Never really seen him in action before. I'd be surprised if ye'd have
enough money for Di Maria.

As part of their latest restructuring the Glazers have secured a rolling 50 million loan facility which can be drawn down at any stage. Add to that possible money from sales (Vidic?? Berba??) United may have 70-80 million to throw about in the summer. Glazer apologists will then point to our esteemed owners getting their wallets out when in fact it'll be all smoke and mirrors with more debt being loaded onto club..

I think the doom and gloom of the last couple of weeks has got to us all. The derby could be just the game to lift the spirits so bring it on. G Nev to win it in the 97th min for 9 man United after robbing Tevez on the edge of the box and running the length of field..

There is a little bit inside of us all that wants the instant gratification  ;D but like an earlier poster said I'd sooner my team not win anything than be a rich mans plaything

#4943
So Pool fans, a rich sugar Daddy a la Chelsea and Man City??? who will buy rings round him for a couple of years and give a real rollercoaster ride and maybe give instant gratification OR someone to come in with a more measured approach and put the club back on solid financial ground and make good medium/long term signings and build a team??

Who would you prefer??

Norf - don't want to piss you off cos you're one of the better contributers but they were two absolutely clearcut penalties. We're all guilty of bias but I think you're defending the indefensible here. I think Drogba knew exactly what he was at and as for Terry - arm was out and clearly made contact with the ball. The guilty head on him afterwards was hilarious.

I cannot comment on the Zat Knight or Collins incidents as I didn't see them.

Another good result for you tonight.

We'll agree to disagree then on the penalty shouts.

One of the good things/ problems this year is that CA rarely comes out and criticises the referees for any injustices (And we've had our share). However mssrs Coyle, O'Neill and Fergie are never shy of being shown live on SKY or BBC goldering their dismay at their perceived injustices.

We all know that this sensationalism is what the TV companies love, so you see Sky Sports looping all day this 'Chelsea got lucky line'. The problem is that people start to buy it.

I firmly believe that we deserve to win the title this year, but still think that with the fixtures that are left that there could be many a twist yet. Can you imagine United and Spurs winning this weekend- both results possible? That would leave Chelsea a point to the good with a trip to Liverpool to come.

One game at a time sweet geezus.  :-\

I take ur point about Sky and sensationalism but do you not think they would run a loop about United or Arsenal or Liverpool "getting lucky" in the same situation, of course they would and have done so after all they have 24hours of non stop shite to fill. For what its worth I thought Chelsea did get lucky on this occasion as both looked nailed on penos to me.

THe weekend is nicely set up with the way the matches fall, if and its a huge if, United can somehow garner three points at Eastlands it'll make Chelseas trip to Spurs so much harder. I think the draw at Blackburn has cost United a realistic shot at winning the league though

Just saw the two penalties that were not ven to Bolton last night. A bit of a joke really. They were fairly clearcut. I'm sure things have gone against them earlier in the season but the Drogba offside goal against United, Terry getting way with a disgraceful tackle on Milner and those two pens last night are a huge sequence in their favour. Chelsea are no better than United but are just getting the breaks at the right time. If they slipped up last night it was game back on.

That's what is so galling about Liverpool's season. I think this is the best premiership race in a good while, but the worst standard. Only Arsenal (arguably) have improved since last season, and I think United and Chelsea are a lot less formidable. Liverpool are a joke.

Yeah, I'd go long with that completely. It seems like sour grapes to say the standard is lower if your eam is not going to win it but I don't think that's the case here.

I would have to agree 100%.  How can a team that's played as "mediocrely" as Chelsea be in with a chance of the Double. :-\

Good to know you agree and heres an example of you agreeing from less than a month ago

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have to be quick here...no complaints. well beaten by a better team over both games.  But I have to say last night was the worst performance by a Chelsea team I can remember in a long time.  Slow, ponderous, no creativity, first touch poor, second touch worse, passing awful (how many passes went to a team mate at knee height or to an Inter player??), out muscled by Inter too.  Chelsea players looked like they were crapping themselves for the first half hour.  Only Turnbull can hold his head up, he did nothing wrong.  Missed the Drogba sending off so can't comment yet.  Chelsea out played and out fought.  On that performance It's Villa for the Cup and MU for the league!

Man Of The Tie...Javier Zanetti...head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch, hardly put a foot wrong over the 180 mins...not bad for a 52 year old

On a more general point, football at the moment is of a very poor standard if AC Milan and Chlesea are two of the top 16 in Europe. The match was actually very poor.  Also we saw yet more examples of soccer moving towards becoming virtually a non contact sport.  Some of the frees given to both sides were nothing short of ridiculous.

That'd be the 76th min "last gasp" winner against Sunderland? I'll give ya the other one alright but one last gasp goal with nine games left wasn't the reason Liverpool didn't win league.

do you still have a Man Utd lunchbox with matching flask that keeps warm drinks warm and cold drinks cold?

No but I do have a rather nice toaster that prints "United" across my toast in the mornings...

I just hate people writing stereotypical posts without checking their facts :P

All joking aside lads I think Liverpool fans should get used the the Europa cup for a while. City will spend heavy again this summer and look likely to break into the top 4 with Liverpool the weakest falling down.

Unless the club are sold to a new owner that can invest a lot of money I think Liverpool will not see CL football for a while.

A year is a long time in football. This time a year ago United were having to pull injury time goals out of the bag to stop Liverpool winning the league and this year Liverpool are well off the pace. Nobody knows what's going to happen as the club looks like being sold again this Summer. CL football may not even be assured for United in years to come with the downsizing going on there.

I think you will find it was Liverpool who were the injury time kings last season........

If Eamo is to be believed both City and Spurs are gonna come through so who knows what'll happen.

How does Kevin Davies get away with fouls like that every week?

He must be the highest fouler every year.

Far from it, hes actually the highest foulee (poetic licence)

I'm always bewildered by fellow United fans opinion on Carrick, I won't argue that his form has dipped the last season or so but I thought he was excellent in his first two and a half or three years. Look back at the big nights and he was central to most of them. Not many teams win 3 leagues in a row and contest back to back Champ League Finals without a strong central midfield and he was most consistant performer in that area.

Not sure about merits of signing Benzema, he didn't want to come last year so f**k him in my opinion.
