As per Sky News tonight the suspect Murat was having an affair with Maddie's mother

You really should be more careful about what you write. Sky News said no such thing. They referred to an affair he had with a German woman.

Yea the herald being a 'national paper' bit is stretching it a bit alright, i think they just mean you can buy it nationwide. it's about the only paper that covers dublin club games. sher, ye all have yer local papers as well.
What was the Laois paper from last year that said they would laugh the Dubs off the pitch?

That was the Laois Nationalist Gnevin.
Of course the fact that it was one of two tongue in cheek pieces written fron the point of view of two journalists (one a local, one a Dub we condescended to let work in Laois ;)) was completely ignored by the rag that is the Herald which instead used a bit of selective quoting from the Laois journalist's humourously intended piece to invent a story.
Heres the two articles - make up your own mind.

Not a GAA one but funny nonetheless:

Gordon Strachan leaving the pitch after just getting beat is stopped by a reporter'
Reporter; Gordon can we have a quick word?
Strachan; Velocity.
End of interview.

Hmm, I think Wee Gordon stole that line from the great Martin Buchan, Man Utd centreback in the 70's who originally came up with it.

..... my own county where a decision is taken to plough every copper into football and leave hurling to become almost similar to the likes of Carey, - extinct.
Wrong, wrong, wrong Bud. The major problem with Laois hurling is not lack of funds. Absolutely not.
Now I would need a lot of time to try to offer reasons why things are as they are. Debate for another day maybe?
Great win for Ballinakill there at the weekend, was a slight shock too as Clough Ballacolla were fancied by most.

Laois centre back was very impressive. Reminded me of Darren Rooney in stature and gait. He'll be some horse of a man by the time he's a senior.
O'Loughlin. He's a minor this year.
Still sick after Saturday night.... :'( :'( :'(

Laois minor hurlers will be without one of their better players John O'Loughlin on Saturday when they play Kildare in the first round of the Leinster MHC because he will be playing for the Under 21 footballers v Mayo at the exact same time.
Thanks very much whoever came up with that master fixture list...

Cork Mayo final I'd wager.

I think the restriction might be an amalgamation of no more than 3 clubs (possibly even 2 clubs)....

Quigley reinstated for Saturaday evening's Under 21 tie, at last we get a break in one of these disciplinary sagas.

Graigue are Division 1 in the league but got relegated last year from the Senior championship for the first time ever. Barry Brennan is their only current county senior player, they have four players on the Under 21 squad for next saturday's Under 21 final v Offaly.
They had an awesome Under 14 team last year, hammered everyone in sight. Generally have very good juvenile teams but have failed to convert this in to senior success for many years now.
Strong club underachieving big time.

Lads and lassies,
Just wondering if any of your clubs are travelling down to Laois for the double header next weekend and interested a challenge game?
We're an intermediate (Division 2) team just outside Portlaoise where the games are being played and would be happy to host a team of similar standard on Sunday morning or early on the Saturday evening.
You can give me a ring on 087-6894108 if you're interested.
