Lots of talk that a Andrew Robertson from Hull deal is close - 8million fee

Robertson's weakness is his defending. That might improve with coaching and for £10m he may prove to be a bargain especially considering the extortionate fees being paid elsewhere.

A big weakness for a defender!

Surprising the number of full backs who aren't great defenders. Mainly because a lot of them are converted wingers. Robertson isn't a bad defender just not the best part of his game.

Very good transfer if they do it, some good scouting done on that one, value for money too unlike that Kyle Walker freakshow transfer earlier

Is he any good? Can't say I know the first thing about him

Steady wing back who can actually defend, something similar to Leighton Baines.
Young and with good coaching he could become very good. Dont be expecting a worldie.
A mark up on that clown Moreno, probably the first decent left back since Riise.

Does anyone know if its televised by any station other than Celtic TV?

No. Celtic TV or nothing.

Ffs tying a scarf to a post is nothing in the grand scheme of things. If a Linfield player did same a CP it would be seen for what it was. I think the only people needing to look at tempering their behaviour are the neanderthals in the stands who shout and spit abuse but then get upset at a scarf. Griffiths did f**k all wrong.

Celtic are charged for the team picking up 5 yellow cards, foolish when it's just Linfield and there are more important games ahead.

Would it be a more serious charge for Linfield if their fan was accused of throwing a Buckfast bottle onto the pitch?

Yeah I thought a lot of the cards were needless and could be costly further down the road. Griffiths could be excused and it was a cowardly, potentially damaging tackle from behind on Armstrong that caused him to react but it was Linfield FFS, we had no need to be picking up any yellow cards.

Griffiths card was needless, as in needless for the ref to give it. Unfortunately when the ref allows thugs to get away with thuggery our players are going to react. As for tying the scarf to the post, if that is counted as incitment, I think those who are offended need to look at themselves.

I thought Rodgers was from NI. He has a Scottish accent in interviews

I come from near him. People on the North Antrim coast speak with a Scottish "blur".

Didn't he play hurling for Glenariff
I remember someone from the club saying

Being from Carnlough should be enough!

Yeah pretty poor stuff from Glenravel this year - I thought having won the Junior last year and entering a very weak Div 3 this year that they would be promoted easily and possibly as Champions.  Instead they are clearly going backwards.

Was speaking to a Glenravel player at the Feis Final on Sunday night, couldn't believe it when he told me what had happened. He told me that they've lost 4 from the panel last year ad that injuries and holidays have left them thread bare over the last few weeks, when they needed a full panel.

Thanks for update. Seemed a strange falling away. Their reserves are holding their own in Division 2 mind.

No doubt there'll be some excuse for Rovers conceding 9, probably played their minors!! Scott Brown went of with a foot injury, hope its not serious as the Linfield ones would be devastated if he didn't play on Friday

Wasn't a Rovers first 11 but good shooting in practice. Hopefully get 10 against linfield.

Maureen is turning Utd into long ball merchants for a full 90mins rather than the last 15mins.
Utd thinking they are purveyors of fast flowing football are a distant memory now.

was it JM that got rid of Lukaku from Chelsea when he was there?

Not quite. Lukaku asked to leave when told he wouldn't be a first choice striker.

His PL goal tally over the past few years speaks for itself and  £75M for one of the PL's best strikers at 24 years isn't a huge risk when you look at a 28 year old French league player is coming in for 52M.  If he continues to develop he could hit 25 a season for the next 5 years.

Lacazette is 26, and apart from size is an all-round better player than Lazy Lu. Lacazette presses defenders and keeps them honest, Lukaku will score a brace one week and then go missing for a fortnight.

Man United are fetishising size with Lukaku and Morata, but at least the later has a better workrate and touch.

I would wager Lukaku will score more and assist more than Lacazette. Not because I think Lukaku is worth that money but just that Lacazette may not be as big a sucess as you think. Also scoring goals for Everton is no guarantee that he will score 20+ for Utd. Would be great if football worked like that.

Define fair share first.

Also define which chants or banners were sectarian?

It is the Event Controller & Safety Officer's role of the club to guarantee the safety of all patrons within the ground and around it, they take everything into account and if they feel they need police or extra police then that's their role to liaise with Emergency Services. That's why they have meetings (SAG meeting) prior to the event to discuss all these matters and arrange the number of extra security, Steward's and Police.

The 'dilemma' of Celtic travelling to Belfast on the 11th or 12th of July to play in the first leg second qualifying round of this years UEFA Champions League, really shouldn't be an issue at all. As it's a UEFA tournament, what the governing body say invariably goes. Ultimately, if a team cannot guarantee the safety of their opponents and their supporters, in this case Linfield, the question has to be asked if they should be allowed to participate in the tournament at all?

And while we're on the subject, the fact the game has to be moved should force UEFA to look further into the reasons why.
Sectarian and racist parades in Belfast are being given priority over the game itself. For an organisation that, when it suits, prides itself in it's 'No to Racism' campaigns, year in year out, they are being dictated to by a club that would rather put it's bigoted ways first.
Should a club with such values be allowed to play in ANY UEFA tournament?
It's up to UEFA to do the right thing, having said that, at Celtic, we've already had experience of trusting the governing body before only to be 'disappointed', namely in 1974 and 1984.
Common sense doesn't always prevail....

Yip! If linfield can't guarantee safety on those dates, the tie needs to be switched. However, expecting UEFA to do anything other than act in their own self interest is wishful thinking. f**k UEFA.

I thought the same Ned, that whilst he did quite well out around the middle and set up Brennan for his goal chance, I thought he was far too slow releasing the ball at times and if the roles were reversed for his big goal chance then Sludden would have drawn the defender and released the ball to Sean who would be screaming for it.

Another time he was running into men on the 40 and whilst he kept possession he kicked a silly short pass no where near its target instead of a simple quick handpass outside him much earlier in the move.

Just bad decision making I think and probably thinks he needs to stand up and take these chances rather than looking around him.
Still, I think he's a handy man to have out around the MF where he can make a good mark from time to time and run from deep

Cavanagh, although not at his absolute best on Sunday, still is vital to this team. I believe that some teams think he is a bigger threat than he actually is these days and that will be crucial later in the championship as teams will use their best man marker on him or form a plan to stop him. I couldn't believe Mayo sacrificed Lee Keegan last year, Sean should have stood in full forward and not budged, completely neutralising Keegan's influence, but unforuntately Sean moved out the pitch and ultimately let Keegan dominate and wind him up.

From memory Keegan did very little in the game until Cavanagh got sent off and he had a bit of freedom to attack. Cavanagh was a bit wasteful on Sunday but still well involved and well worth his place on the team. If we are going to push up on kickouts it's important he's out there helping Colm, Mattie and whoever has is in midfield.

I suppose Cavanagh has set a high standard previously and in no way did he have a bad game. Just an observation but he definitely is vital for Tyrone still.

Salah can sprint with the Gods, 70m in 7 seconds on grass with boots and ball. Klopp likes a good runner.

Seen that stat doing the rounds. Not a hope in hell is that true. Sure the WR for 60m is 6.39s.

These stats for footballers are usually when they are in full flow, i.e their fastest 70m over a slightly longer distance. Therefore, not timed from a standing start so not impossible especially if that time is rounded down.

I know what you mean but just don't think this one is true. For example in Usain Bolts last 70m the first time he broke the 100m WR he was just under 6 seconds. Salah is fast but think the stats have been embellished slightly.

Possibly. However, if Bolt did 70 in 5.89s and Salah in 7.37 that is around 1.5s difference. If you extrapolate Salah's time out for a 100m race with a start from blocks it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that would take him closer to 11s. I would suggest plenty of footballers must be capable of that sort of time for 100m. You have to remember footballers are elite athletes who will most likely have some sprint training as part of their weekly routine.
