Would all of ye play big Sean at Midfield then?

I'd go for

Tyrone
Darragh O'Shea
Barry Owens
Stevie McDonnell

Can you imagine that FF line
S.O'Neill
Mugsy
Stevie McDonnell

With McGuigan, Dooher and maybe Cavlan supplying them with passes.

THE Munster Colleges' Council is set to investigate the disgraceful scenes that marred the end of an U16½ colleges Gaelic football final between St Brendan's Killarney and Tralee CBS at Austin Stack Park, Tralee.

Brendan's won the game 3-13 to 2-11 to claim the Frewen Cup but as soon as the final whistle was sounded, a number of the Tralee supporters who were in the stand rushed onto the pitch and proceeded in mob-like fashion to attack and kick a number of the Killarney players.

St Brendan's duo Jamie O'Sullivan and James O'Donoghue were knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked by the invading supporters.

The attackers were facilitated by the absence of stewards, but fortunately the quick action of Tralee CBS staff members, and the good sense of both sets of players prevented an even more serious incident.

Munster Colleges' Servicing Officer Tom Collum revealed that the report of referee Brendan Twiss would be examined before any action is taken by the provincial governing body.

"I wasn't at the match myself, so I don't know what happened," said Collum.

"We would hope to have the referee's report by Thursday, and we will be led and said by its contents."

Just an hour or so after the incident, Tralee CBS principal Tony O'Keeffe, a former secretary of the Kerry GAA Board, pledged that swift and significant action would be taken against the perpetrators.

O'Keeffe, one of the first on the pitch to quell the trouble, said: "We will be taking prompt and decisive action against the guilty parties.

"Two of the ring-leaders are not in our school, and we have identified two more who are pupils of our school.

"There was a lot of lads out there who were not involved (in the trouble), but they should not have run on to the pitch in the first place," added O'Keeffe.

Does anyone know what happened Mugsy or how long he'll be out for?

Heard SON might be out for 3/4 weeks as hurt his ankle as well as having a sore hamstring.

Will there be no more league games before the Fermanagh match then or just without the county men?

Yeah I just heard that alright.
He came on, scored 1.01 and then was taken off with a serious different injury which sounds serious.

Have no more details at the moment

Did the McMahon Bros both play at the weekend?

Hey Goat Lover

I''ve 30 names for the bus already but need more but dont know would Ye Armagh Orangemen go down well on the bus. Ye might not like the traditonal route as I've heard you're gunning for the back passage this year as ye can win FECK all down the main road.

Why, do ye wanna come and learn how to play football properly using the ball or are you happy with yer Psycho Analysis, funny shapes on jerseys, third man tackle game that ye've devised.

Sounds ridiculous alrite but unless you were there yourself it's hard to know the truth some times
If you're from the opposite team the red mist can decide and you can overstate the facts sometimes

If he did bite your man then he should be banned for a long time but sure didnt yer man Walsh from Cavan bite big Sean allegedly and am sure this goes on at senior level elsewhere without it being highlighted as much but of course it is despicable

This is the last thing Tyrone GAA needs in the news as it already has got loads of bad publicity from the media
Those on the Mulligan should hang thread will say look at this incident and see what happens when you don’t heed the law and say Tyrone games have no respect for the GAA rulebook anymore?

Minor matches can often be OTT as many teenagers have little respect for their own team mates and so none for their opponents.

Remarkable the number of posters who have NOT seen the incident but are very vociferious in their anti appeal attitude.

Are you saying then that Mickey Harte should say to himself

Yeah in the past we appealed Ricey and got him off even though he was guilty as hell and so now we should not push our luck even though personally I think Mugsy was foolish but it was DEFINITELY not a Red card offence.

If you were in a job and your success/survival depended on important decisons you make, but you may offend someone along the way, would you sit back and say
No, I'll take the risk but be at least I'll be popular.

If Fermanagh beat Tyrone and we had no Mugsy would people say
At least Mickey is a sound bloke and we respect him more.

Catch a grip lads. Fair enough the Ricey Knees up/Down was scandalous in isolation but at the time a precedent had been set by other people getting No further suspension by media so why should he be any different.

Does anybody know of anyone who organises buses to Tyrone matches from Dublin?

Would there be much of an interest in such a bus or do any of ye get together in any pubs in Dublin for live matches?
Are they any Tyrone Owned pubs in Dublin?

took the words outta my mouth Ludemore

A Tribute i heard to Freddie Mercury once said
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
If you'd have stayed with the p***y
you'd still be with us.

I think with the Rep they already have they have to be SEEN as cleaning up their image.
Besides Armagh would probably twist it and get pictures of them drinking and use it as a psychological tool
to motivate themselves that these drunken chicken ranchers arent gonna beat us, are they?

Congrats Donegal BTW

What is the actual rule if ye swing for someone but miss or is you did as Mugsy did and slide 5 yards to trip somebody but miss him?

It does seem a bit OTT to give a 4 week suspension for that, especially if its being used to double up another suspension.

I think he was a Fool to do it but the punishment does seem to outweigh the crime in this instance.
There's were much worse tackles that didnt even get a yellow.

Who all are doubtful now then for May 20th
Stevo
Mugsy
McGuigan
Cavanagh?
Calvo? Is he still training or has Mickey sent him home cos of the Dogs

When's the last time Armagh played an AWAY match in the championship folks not including Monaghan in Clones?
How do they normally do when away from home?
I remember some great games in Omagh back in the 80's with the two Grimley sisters and big Houley.

Its only April but I think I can smell Orange fear already and a whole list of excuses getting ready.

"They're all out to get us brigade and we're not over the hill really"
"We've got the BEST & Biggest support in the land"

"We've got WAN All-Ireland to our name but dont think we are respected enuf"

Watch out for the Tinnies in Strabane as they guide you into Tir Connaill

Cant wait to see how Devenney does this year against that Armagh strong FB line
Donegal are a much bigger more direct team this year I believe

What about bombarding the thesundaygame@rte.ie with requests to NOT have Spillane hosting it anymore and maybe even getting rid of Brolly.
Personally I'd love to see a few new faces and characters.

Brolly certainly is a character and comes out with a lot of good points here and there but he's way OTT about Ulster all the time and I think the other guys on with him are fed up as they cant get a word in edgewise.

What about Benny Tierney or some older Dublin players.
Please please no more boring Bernard Flynn types

I liked Tohill last year one night when Spillane went on a big rant and big Anthony just sat and listened and then Lick ass Tony Davis agreed as usual as did Tommy Lyons I think & then Tohill pipes up and says he strongly disagrees and gave good arguments. If that had of been Brolly he would have been arrogant and interrupting etc.

What about getting in a Niall Quinn or Roy Keane type the odd time? Would be interesting to hear a non biased opinion

First game I was at since the Dublin v Tyrone game and was looking forward to seeing the McMahon Bros on home Turf, young Gormley for the first time and how bad Peter Donnelly really is and how come he won a Sigerson all-star?

Lots of hospitality given to the new Ref and to the  Mayo team esp another U-21 victory.
So to the game itself and Tyrone got off to a great start I thought with a 4-0 start and Mugsy and Cavanagh Jnr impressing me greatly. Mugsy looked up for it and rolled his man well and crashed a screamer off the crossbar. We looked in complete control with big Joey looked exceptionally on his game with some good Midfield work and his Bro Justy showing me why folk were all talking about him with a great score off his weak right foot away out on the right wing.

All in all I felt
McConnell – Frustrating keeper as never uses his head and too often decides to come charging out for the big spectacular catch when he should leave it to others there instead and stay on his line for the outcome. Kickouts are woeful

Ricey- Taken off early for yellow card and replaced by McCaul. Looked to be getting a roasting and not one of his better days.
S.Donnelly – Yes. Hmmmm. All-star eh? Good fielder
D.Carlin. – I like him even though he's not the best man marker ever. Seems very fast and lively and reads the game well and loves to attack though shooting was off. Will often be out in front of his man but wouldn't trust him marking P.Bradley etc

D.Harte. Was his usual Mr Consistency without anything too impressive.
Block Had a poor enuf game and think he's taking it handy at the moment.
Just-in McMahon.- Was very impressed and boy he's a big lad too. Would be sad to see him left out come the Summer

Hub- Has gone right off the boil and he needs to get back to basics and learn how not to get booked though he's a marked man now by Refs.
Joey- Was very impressed and hope he can stay fit now. He was able to hold players off and catch or break very well. Seemed to want to prove a point and am looking for a big season from him
Mulgrew- Had a poor game today I thought and was never really in it but will be defo one for the nice summer pitches and the telling passes and scores. Might be the man to edge out Calvo once and for all.
Penrose- Thought he played alrite and showed hunger and skill but often too slow to release it and lost possession. Think he could have a good summer too if he can start using his head a bit. Lot of kickouts aimed towards him which he didn't win.
Dooher- Still not back to his best but worked hard enough and again gave away possession too often. Still tries this big far out points which rarely come off.

Gormley- Had a poor game and though made some good runs and looks fast and lively never really got into it that much and was replaced.

Cavanagh Jnr- Was my MOTM as despite looking very young and feeble he played a stormer at full forward winning loads of ball and scored 1.2, I think and has definitely has a good chance of making the Fermanagh game.

Mugsy- Recently I have been a big critic of him and think he like a lot of the older squad members only raises his game for the big C-Ship games and often looks lazy and cant make space for himself. But on Sunday I though he was very impressive and had Mayo at 6's and 7's for long periods. He gets the crowd excited and is one of the few players we have who you know will get you goals. Let's hope he can keep his head and hunger for the summer. His sliding tackle was ridiculous but in my book was a yellow card as there was intent but only to bring him down and not break his leg. Some other yellow cards such as round the neck hits looked worse but what was he thinking. Frustration again I guess as didn't score as much as he would liked.

McGinley – Played well when he came on and has a lot more experience that others esp when to hold possession and when to release. Would expect him to start in May unless he breaks another part of his body.

SON.- Its just not going right for our Stevie right now and think he's very frustrated.
He seems to over run it too often and Refs are very slow to give him frees as he doesn't go down as easy as others. He needs to play more wee 1 twos with people and not be so predictable in my book.

.

All in all I thought it was quite a good performance with more positives that negatives. It was incident packed and had Mugsy stayed on and we not conceded stupid goals then we would have won. Still it gives us plenty to work on for the May match. I would like to see the following team esp the Full Forward line

               Curran

Ricey   Joey   Carlin

Justin   Block   Jordan

Big Sean and E McGinley

Dooher     Mulgrew   Cavlan

SON     Cavanagh Jnr   Mulligan

Leaving...
Mellon
Penrose
McCullagh
Gormley
Harte
P.Donnelly
C.McGinley
Hub

Hope to see McGuigan come June time.

Looking forward to the Mayo game on Sunday myelf.
First time to see them since the Dublin game in Croker where they were terrible in 1st half and very good in the 2nd.

Would like to see yer man Rouse get a run as have yet to see him and also wanna see young Gormley.
How long did McCullagh get? What did he do anyway? Lash out with a fist was it?

Any more news on Calvo? Is he just be rested or did he miss training sessions too like Mugsy.
Hope we dont get any more sendings off.

Hope the weather keeps up and we get back to basics and give us something to look forward to in May.

Is Gourley injured again? Who else is out?
