Mayo / Re: Mayo Football and Hurling - Discussion pages
January 27, 2008, 08:14:11 PM
Players who played very well last night where

Peadar Gardiner, Billy Joe Padden, Liam O'Malley (outstanding, took some big hits and kept going), Keith Higgins, Mickey Mullins, & Andy Moran (really bulked up & was everywhere on the pitch), Aidan Higgins put in a decent show. O yea James Gills Renaissance continued.
Austin O'Malley had an absolute stinker.

From this morning Austin O'Malley had an absolute blinder when he came on in the second half, scored a goal by forcing his way singlehandedly through an entire full & half back line & goalkeeper (Go figure, his swings in form, a real confidence player I think). Tom Parsons put in a strong display. Sean Mallee was good when he came on in the second half. Kilcoyne scored most of D.I.T.s points it was almost Mayo V Kilcoyne. The other midfielder, I think he s from Achill Con*** or something like that had a good game. O yea David Heaney was @ number 6 & put in a very good display.

Notice lands lost to the Sheepstealers & HeronChoker stayed passionatly Mayo, while those from Sligo converted willingly. Mayo is not a County its a state of mind.  8)

Quote from: donelli on January 23, 2008, 02:35:06 PMBTW: it all kicked off due to the ref pointing the wrong direction for a free kick for Dublin. thats why so many lads were attempting to obtain the ball which in turn started the scuffle.

Forgot about that, got a laugh out of that as well, de ref done gud last night  :D I'd say O'Mahony has seriously dented his chances of starting in the summer, then again maybe not

Hope he hasn't blown his chances, would like to see him get a shot, don't know him but kinda a know his sister, Kerry stock, sure there must be good football in him. Thats what we are telling ourselves here in Mayo with a new midfielder (well last year, but didn't do much last year) Seamus O'SHEA!!! (Kerry stock too).

Tyrone / Re: Tyrone 2008
January 26, 2008, 01:43:38 AM
There may be issues between Mickey & Stevie but is it not possible that O'Neill just wants to help his club achieve the highs he has achieved with Tyrone. 2 All-Irelands in the last 5 years is nothing to take lightly. Its hard to keep up the interest with two recent All-Irelands even for some of the Kerry lads.

General discussion / Re: Distinguished Pub Crawls

Had a legendry pub crawl down in Skibb in West Cork not so long ago, its was one hell of a night. Can't remember one name of a pub, but 3 of us scored, 1 got in a fight, 1 got lost, 1 got thrown out of the club & don't know where everybody else went. Great town.

Mine was a Gary Lineker toe poke playing football (Real GAA football). Don't score goals too often.

I think this is a major burning issue of our day to find out if Ballaghadeereen really is the greatest of the great parts of Mayo.  8)
