This all sounds so familiar. Last year it was the 2 leinsters in a row, a more consistent team which is improving, struggling to beat an ageing galway team, dublins handy win over laois versus mayos more laboured(actually I think it was worse then that) performance against laois.

will ye ever learn

The reason why Kerry and Monaghan have to play semi-final prices and why Mayo and Laois fans had to do likewise last year was so that the Dubs can have a day on their own, of course at quarter final prices.

When Hill 16 was being rebuilt (and the Dubs have a monopoly on these cheap tickets as well) they were given reduced price tickets in the Canal.

There is one rule for some.

But it is the GAA that have questions to answer. Why isolate the people that want to see the games. A Waterford family of 2 parents and 2 children going to 3 matches over 3 weeks will have paid for petrol and food and roughly €400.00 for tickets. That is an impossible outlay in many people's budgets. 80,000paying E20 is better than 40,000 paying E40. Small mindedness will catch up with the GAA yet.

Yes but poor auld tankie lives in south dublin, "kilkenny wouldnt be much further then that". He has to pay for gargle and any other stimulants he wishes to take to keep himself going for the day. The price of drugs in dublin aint cheap these days since that big seizure in cork. But after all this hassle himself and 82000 of his fellow county men can make it to croker without fail even when the premiership is on. Now that is commitment to the county

GalwayBayBoy,

You might as well ignore the idiot. You should know whats going to happen. Somebody will have a pop at the dubs because of this clowns comments, then himself and Gnevin will start whinging about how every thread about culchies turns into people slating the poor auld dubs. If the lad is too stupid to see why the attendence was down yesterday I dont think any amount of explaining will enlighten him.

Sorry Hardy, I cant agree.
In my opinion that was the same old shit as usual from RTE. What about a bit more action. If I want to find out what Martin McHugh has to say about football, Ill buy The Star or what ever other rag he writes for, or else ill listen to him on the radio. Why in gods name do we have to look at him talking the same shit on television. Same goes for that journalist. Ill buy the irish independent if I was so interested in what he had to say. As for the people in the studio, well I could head down to the local and I wouldnt hear as much rubbish as this. Why do RTE find it so hard to show a bit of GAA action that is not on live or on the Sunday Game

Wouldnt mind seeing Howley in there as we'll. Cant really understand how he doesnt get more games.

David Clarke, Aidan Higgins, Liam O'Malley, Trevor Howley

Cheers davitt man, missed that the first time round. Must have been the shock early in the morning. Im happy to see these changes all round. If barry moran stays full forward at least it gives the outfield players more options to aim at. How many times have we seen ball going to the full forwards from men under pressure out the pitch that they are never going to win. I think this gives a better chance of quick ball in that someone can win in front of goal

Some serious changes in that line up lads. So much for using the league to build for the championship. Half the team either didnt play in the league or are named in a position they didnt play in the league. I have to say most of the changes or needed but I dont understand why they havent been done earlier in the year. In regards to Trevor, he'll be missed from the forward line but I definiatly think he'll be a great addition to the half back line. The backs have been missing a bit of agression over the years, but now with Aiden Higgens, Trevor Mortimer, and David Killcullen its starting to look a bit tougher. Wouldnt mind seeing Howley in there as we'll. Cant really understand how he doesnt get more games.

Does anyone have any idea when the Mayo team will be announced it's usually about two days before the game, so maybe this evening will be interesting to see will JOM stick with the old relliables or give some of the younger lads a run out.

Yep, Team to be named tonight all right, should be interesting. As long as David Brady starts Im not to bothered. Finally make some serious money on this Mayo team.

Ive had the pleasure of sitting beside a few scumbags in the last few years in Croker. Both from Dublin and my own County. During the Dublin-Mayo game from last year,(I was there to watch the Meath-Roscommon minor game if your wondering), there was a bunch of balding-fat assholes in blue sitting behind us who were insisting on making sheep noises when the Mayo players came out, and suggested that they were trying to "arse-rape" their Dublin opponents rather than tackle. Sadly we had to sit and listen to their brainless drivel until Ciaran MacDonald shut them up with the winning point and they decided to feck off out of the stadium much to everyones relief.

In the Meath-Louth game last season there was one of our own supporters who let the side down badly, with his loud cursing and saying things about the Louth players being scumbags and calling out for one of the meath players to break thier f**king jaw. And this was every minute of the game, he was a bit pissed, and couldnt tell if Trevor Giles was still playing or not.

Personally I'd never boo anyone, I understand the effort and commitment that the players make. When Mark Vaughn kicked over the sideline ball, i actually found myself applauding, and always make a point of shaking hands and wishing well any opposing supporters near me. Not blowing my trumpet here, I think alot of GAA fans are like that, but there sadly is a growing amount of people who are ruining the athmosphere of GAA matches, and if they want to carry on like that they can feck off to a soccer game where that crap is acceptable.
[/b]

I have been at soccer games all over the world and i don't know anywhere where that "crap is acceptable" as you put it..Im not saying it's doesn't happen but as with GAA there is a minority who like to be heard at these matches and will annoy everyone around them
You are a very bitter man and have a huge chip on your shoulder when it comes to soccer ::)

I taught I read somewhere that all teams go into a hat for an open draw and the first team out gets the home fixture. Not sure though
