Fabio like Rafael looks like he has the potential to be a class act in the syle of Evra.

Have the Stretford end any songs about them yet?

A final question that he asked me last night.

Name the 3 people who have been associated with Liverpool since the Premier League's inception that have a Premiership Winners medal?

Ince is one

Would pennant not have one also?

Raymie Johnston, Niall Leonard, Paul Ward and James Connolly dropped from the squad.  A little harsh after a few McKenna cup games?  Had high hopes for Ward myself, he was very good for Derrygonnelly last year.

Would I be right in thinking that Niall McGovern is the only university player with any chance of coming into the squad??

Rooney out for 3 weeks, a big blow with Evra also out for a similar period.  Thankfully we have a kind fixture list so hopefully we'll cope ok, actually think O'Shea has done quite well in Evra's abscence.

Ach now, I was just telling the truth! Sure wasn't that what it was all about lol??

A legendary thread if ever there was one! :D

Two lines from Springsteen's Thunder Road spring to mind:

'You ain't a beauty but hey you're alright' - I think very few people could make such a line seem like a compliment but somehow Bruce does it.

Also 'Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays' - Not amazing lyrics, but it sends a shiver down my spine when I hear that line.  By the way if any of you are unfamiliar with Thunder Road I seriously recommend you download it!

Another classic line IMO comes from James and Sit Down:

'If I hadn't seen such riches I could live with being poor'

I know a guy in the utd youth team and his season had just finished when this story came out.  He lived with and played alongside Danny Welbeck last season before Welbeck was called up to the senior squad.  His story was that Evra thought he had been called an 'immigrant' by one of the Chelski groundsmen.  However, he said that Welbeck (who was right beside Evra) didn't hear it.  Welbeck said that the groundsmen were being cheeky and making snide comments, but that he never heard that word being used.  He thinks it was a genuine misunderstanding.

Just heard a rumour that Rory Gallagher, Mark Little, Shaun Doherty and Mattie Keenan have been omitted from the McKenna Cup squad.  Keenan is having an operation  Does anyone know why the others have been left out?  Strong management again by Malachy...?

Not 100% sure on this Exiled Gael but thought Mark Little was part of that St.Col's team that won that year.  Also Fermanagh Tech won the All-Ireland that year, not sure if any current Fermanagh seniors were on that team
Don't know about Fermanagh, but I believe Colm McCullagh (Dromore/Tyrone) was part of that team IIRC.

Steven Maguire was also on that team I believe.  Was Rory Gallagher on it too?

I think Rooney and Berbatov are our best combination against MOST sides.  I greatly admire Tevez and appreciate what he did for the team last season but I think Berbatov and Rooney will work better.  I can't really see Tevez staying to be honest.  there are only a handful of clubs in the world where he wouldn't start week in week out and unfortunately for him, he's at one.  I'd say the link between Real and him is more than just paper talk...
