I thought his incredulity displayed last night when he say that McCaffrey and Lunney had agreed to pledge the Insurance company's assets without his knowledge was fairly far fetched.
Seemingly they were having to facilitate SQ borrowing large amounts of money regularly, and presumably at short notice.  The loans were required to shore up his (or his family's) personal investments.  Surely SQ wasn't surprised as to the collateral which may have been required in order to borrow the €2.3bn from Anglo that he borrowed.

Another collapse yesterday and it continues https://www.forbes.com/sites/dereksaul/2022/11/08/crypto-crash-intensifies-amid-downfall-of-industrys-white-knight-bankman-fried/?sh=30f4bf4d25f9

My holdings current at -70%.  It's done as a thing I reckon.

As I said on this thread a few months ago, I wouldn't touch anything else right now, but I'm happy that Bitcoin is a great purchase at the current prices (sub $17k) to hold for a couple of years.  I'm happy for this quote to be retrieved in 2 years.
This bear market has shown that there is Bitcoin and "crypto". Bitcoin is not crypto.

'Globalists' is the next big LvR issue. I've noticed it popping up a lot lately from a few right wing sources.I watch GB news the odd time to see what nonsense is being spouted and this is it- Globalists are bad, home bred Nationalism is good. Feels like a not so subtle moving of the goalposts in the Brexit argument.
Listen to these 8 minutes, benny.  A real life example of "a globalist" being discussed.

Musk seems to be right wing in terms of his belief in free speech, certainly it's the right wing that is applauding his taking over of Twitter.
But he has made his fortune from selling EVs, his customers won't be the same right wing people on Twitter who are welcoming how he seems to be running the Big Bird.  I find this juxtaposition interesting.

Starlink will solve this "lack of 4G" problem.

Potentially, yes along with any other LEO satellite broadband provider. However you'd want to have business level SLA agreements if you're going to do it properly, otherwise you could be in a world of hurt (that goes for any provider) especially as there's been reports of the average down/up speeds of Starlink customers starting to shrink. And it won't be cheap & probably not worth it for the few venues you'd require it. As it is, the venue in question is due to be covered by Fibrus early next year according to their address checker - given that there is a community center at the club, that's perhaps a reasonable enough reason to get something like that installed as they can make use of it throught the year and not just during a small window to accommodate streaming championship games.

Just done a speed check on my Starlink connection; 167 mbps d/l and 23 u/l
I haven't seen any issues with speeds shrinking.

£16 or free on IPTV to view the Tyrone final.

£16 ?  ???

Policy this year for games streamed on Tyrone GAA's online TV service was for the price to be £1 higher than adult admission for the relevant game, if there was a double header then the streaming was also a double-header package.

While a few people might raise eyebrows at the price compared to what some other counties charge for PPV streaming of their club games, every SFC, IFC & JFC game in the county this year along with the SHC, JHC & ACFL Division 1 league finals has been available on the platform this year. Rumour has it that one particular double-header was moved to a different venue as the original one couldn't facilitate live streaming  (thought to be a lack of decent 4G signal from any network with no adequate landline backup available).

The only thing missing IMO was either some sort of season ticket or weekend streaming bundle where appropriate.

Starlink will solve this "lack of 4G" problem.
I see that performa take a starlink dish around to their live streamed events for uploading. Very smart.

Ehmmm gonna hazard a guess at Cross by a fair bit, although Clann Na Gael and Armagh Harps have won a fair few between them.

Crossmaglen Rangers   46
Armagh Harps   21
Clan na Gael   14
Armagh Young Irelands   7
Keady Dwyer's   4
St Patrick's Carrickcruppen   4
Pearse Óg GAC   4
Killeavy St Monnina's   3
Bessbrook Geraldines / An Sruthán   3
Clann Éireann   3

What is the equivalent club to Geraldine's nowadays?

Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines suffered "leaks" overnight putting the out of use even if there was a desire for European countries to take gas from Russia again.  Strong suggestion that there were 2 explosions that sabotaged them.
The question is was it the Russians or the Americans who did it.

Mayo is littered with underage amalgamations for as long as I can remember. Some for a year if one club can't go it alone with regards to numbers.

I'm not sure how they are graded to be honest, but they haven't been cleaning up county A titles.

Thats the issue I have as where I live the amalgamations are starting to win B titles, not A where I think they should be.
Don't think it's fair to say all amalgamations should be in the highest division. I know some amalgamations in Armagh still struggle to even field a team unfortunately and tend to be on the lower end of division 3 so putting them up to the top grade is doing no one any favours.

Appreciate that but in my county I know of 2 clubs who registered at B, trashed everyone in B league to win a trophy then went up to A in championship and made championship semi and final respectively. Meanwhile clubs thst struggle to get players out get battered out the gate. Has ti be a solution to this carry on

That definitely isn't the way amalgamations are used in Armagh.  It's pretty much always about having the numbers to field a team.  Even at U15 level there appears to be more amalgamations year on year.  Gotta wonder how that impacts those clubs' senior teams in 6 - 10 years given the natural player drop off rate.

The change to U17 and U19 isn't working, at least in Armagh in my opinion, anyway.

The U19 competition is almost non-existent (maybe a few games per year) with the result that a 17 year old lad (unless he is a genuine star) won't get much club  football as they won't be fit for senior.
Like U19s, the reserve football only provides a few games per year.

Changing back to U18 would give that 17 year old lad another full year of competitive football where he will be matched better physically.
Play under 19's and under 17's. Let the stronger lads at u19 play u19 and senior. Gives a chance to lads coming from u17's who aren't ready for senior football another couple of years playing at their own level to develop physically for senior football.
Most lads I know would have played minor and senior games in a week not a bother to them.

That would be fine if the U19s was a proper competition like U17 is.
There was a huge difference in the amount of U19 games played compared to U17s.  The 19s was an afterthought and lots of games not fielded or conceded.
