Hurling is developing very fast at underage level in mayo, and the county team never go out and not try their best even if they are not sucessful. They try a lot harder than thekilkenny footballers and thats the reason people are annoyed at Kilkenny.

GAA Discussion / Re: Mayo v Down - March 11th

God bless your enthusiasism mick, but down are in division one on merit. They beat most others in division 2 last year, and were  all Ireland finalists very recently with a lot of these players. Mayo could  never be overconfident of beating any division one or two team.
I am looking forward to hearing it on midwest, still looking for a way to not go nuts when billy fitz keeps saying that mayos opponents were very unlucky or that should be a free against mayo!
He drives me nuts.
On  o Connor weight gain, I doubt that lad would not be really minding himself, especially with o Neil watching their every move in that concern. He probably has gained muscle which is no harm. We have a few more that could do with some weight and muscle.

A fairly rough lad from Clare took a dump in a bucket of plaster on a job site.

hurling is miles more skilled, football is becoming more like basketball and with a few skilled lads able to score any bunch of athletes could give the best teams a game.

i suppose mayo are not rated by a lot of people, its easy to see why. donegal, derry, down, tyrone, armagh, dublin, offaly, cork, meath, kerry, galway are the ones off the top of my head that have won the big prize since we last did. kerry, dublin and perhaps tyrone see us as very beatable, we have beaten all three late in the championship in recent years but not late enough.
mayo are seen as nobodies until we win Sam .

That's about it, we need to stop moaning and whinging about been under the radar all the time and win the fricking thing once and for all (sometime) and then we might be recognised as a good team. However, undoubtedly when/if we ever do win Sam again it'll be down to the opposition missing a star player/ they took Mayo lightly for the final/bla bla bla etc.

However mannix, isn't it funny though how you haven't Kildare down on that list, and they're in the top 4, after Cork, Kerry, Dublin. ::)

I did not put kildare in because mayo have won Sam 3 times since they last won it. Even Louth may have won one in the fifties?

an open fireplace with a blow fan directly above it is the only answer. seen one in a house recently, its like a normal fireplace but the hot air going up the chimney passes through a metal box , it heats the box and a fan blows air over the box into the room. great idea and gives a lot of heat, no fumes are put into the room because the air in indirectly heated.

Maybe in donegals case gps would work better, that way they can sub anyone that passes the half way line.

I think kk should be punished for allowing lads to be humiliated like that. Either have respect for yourselves and the game or lose your grants for hurling.
That'll learn them.

It's a total lack of common sense. In nyc at least, confrontation is always very close. I have seen a few times where people come to blows for very little, over a shopping trolley,a parking space, cutting line at a cinema etc. it's ingrained, and lashing out is a way of life.
Shooting is the next step.

4 dollars a gallon for petrol in new York and they are having a fit.
yeap! they're gonna have to get shot of those 6.6 litre guzzlers try a few 1.1litres

I have a 14 mpg van, my brothers does about 10 mpg. His has a 6.7 liter v8 engine. Great pulling power all  the same thank god. sure a 2 or 3 liter would be no use on the big highways, no good I tell ya.
