Great players like John Giles, Roy Keane, Paul McGrath were produced by playing the game in their local streets and parks. I'd be surprised if they ever had any sort of interaction with any arm of the FAI until they were in their late teens and already on the road to greatness.

cant agree with that at all , if you had read any of their books you would know that played all the way up at underage levels in soccer ( and also in gaelic football)

you'd have said the same thing about the pats giants game , that brady would have found a way through , the saints are going to win this bowl , probably quite similarly to the way manning won his i.e giving up a stupid early score! its all a bonus for the saints , manning will feel the pressure, he wants to catch brady on the ring count.. he already let his coach throw away a perfect season.. idiocy...

the death has occurred of roger milla aged 97 of frankfurt , germany formerly of ********* Co. Mayo , the body will be removed to the chuch at ********* , he leaves behind a 19 year old mistress ,10 sons and a daughter who is currently Goalkeeper for the Mayo Ladies. His dying words were " at least i lived to see johhno deliver the three in a row..."

MWR is utter shite by the way but it serves its own demographic well.

how do ye rate pieterson (spl) lads l

Adrian Peterson you mean? I think he's a great back, but he is prone to a bit of fumiblitis. He is an every down back though, and can break big runs as well as the 5 yards on 1st and 10 that make a huge difference.

He had a bad run in this season though, but I think that's because the offense turned Pass first, as Favre started firing everything at Rice, Scionko(sp?), Harvin and Berrian.

If Favre retires, expect Peterson to be the number 1 back in the NFL next year.

outrageous recovery on that rip.. beat the four new orleans players to the ball after he lost it
best back in the league for me and theres loads more to come..

Platini formed an affinity with Northern Ireland football when he attended the International Board meeting at the Slieve Donard in Newcastle last...

It all becomes clear. Is this the sweeter to the bitter pill the IFA had to swallow in Newcastle when they were finally told the game was up regarding players form the north declaring for Ireland?

500,000 grand for a scatter of young fellas who would kill themselves to wear the green , and it wasnt even the FAI who had to pay.. bargain ;D

Yeah, but the real point is should Platini patronise an association that has openly licked his arse for years?

well he is hardly going to patronise the ones that haven't  ;D

Because the Premiership and rugby were the first ones to put names on the back of jersies  ???

teddy roosevelt asked the powers that be in american football to put the names on the back as fellas were gettign away with dirty hits !
