GAA Discussion / Re: Kerry V Dublin

In his time in charge Jack has never named a dummy team so I would be surprised if that team does not start.
Hope Tommy Griffin will do OK but I suspect it may be a disaster waiting to happen, have to say I was surprised Padraig Reidy is not starting.
We need to stick on the dubs coat tails for as long as possible.

Unfortunately not a great team, not near as good as 2006/07 teams but it all depends on the standard nationwide.
Both Tyrone and Mayo were exceptional teams.
The scoring in all finals seemed low but with minors you never know.
No minor title since 1994 so we would like one!!!
Like the seniors we are going for a 100% record in QF's.

Generally don't like ref bashing but the three ref who make me scream out loud are:
1. The identity crisis man - terrible in both languages
2. Mr. Bannon not far behind number 1.
3. Mr. White from Donegal

It is a tough job but some guys just look like they want to steal the show.

Really depressing to go on the thread and read about Tyrone!!!
Maybe there was something in Tomas set dancing comments!!!
Marc would be a massive loss - county board shocked by this.
Marc was stood on at the start of the second half and reacted, looked at it online and saw nothing.
Not sure if more conclusive shots available.
Again no problem with these suspensions as long as there are applied consistently.
This will disrupt the build up at any rate.
On the game itself it is hard to see up putting up a big eneough score to win on current form.
I would expect Reidy to start in place of Griffen if Marc plays.

Oh please god not parnell park!!!
Anywhere but parnell park!!
Any chance they will toss for venue tomorrow?
Bigger crowd if it was on in a home venue.
Portlaoise would be fair though!

No linesman saw it, Darragh got a yellow card.
Lucky really.

First up all credit to Sligo especially for the second half performance.
Looked like ye may be overran but ye stuck with it and deserved something out of the game.
For us as Shakespear said - there is something wrong in the state of Denmark!!
Darragh is not a 70 minute player, very ineffective yesterday should have walked for the slap on O'Hara as well.
Mike Mac looked like he was never away.
Can't help wondering was Marc problem that he played last 5 weeks at chb was then got thrown into the corner yesterday?
Third game where we failed to score in the final 10 minutes - is fitness a problem.
Finally the full forward line - Gooch is simply playing with no confidence, he is not enjoying his football at all, this is his 8th season and he is only 26.
Take a break Colm find the enjoyment again and come back the player we know you are.
Tommy Walsh was poor, limited vision and like Gooch must show more for the ball.
We are so one dimentional it is scary.

We have a solid support of about 7000 for home league games.
That will swell by a 3000 for a novell championship match in Tralee.
I would expect 10-11000 of us with 4-5000 coming from Sligo.
Should make for a cracking atmosphere, as earlier posters said - come early.

Le disaster - Donaghy needs another op on his foot.
Seems he was rushed back too soon.
This championship year is turning into a disaster for us.
The inter-county players were flogged this year like no other as they have played all club league games
and the club championships started in April this year as well.
Looks like we are paying the price now.
The general feeling down here is that sligo have a great chance and that even if we do scrape through we are not good eneough to beat Limerick or Kildare on current form.
Looking like our shortest summer since 1999.

Well done Leinster.

Win was more important than the display, poor game, always thought we were well in control.
Kerry brought on 7 subs, Dara, Moran, Kennelly, Sean O'Sulllivan, Bohane, Quirke, Aiden O'Shea & Sheehan so could be more left in this yet.
3/3 for the Munster counties - does this make Munster the strongest province?

Jesus, how many subs are you allowed? Bit of a major oversight this.

Sorry my mistake Kerry only brought on 7 subs.... Quirke should not have been on the list. So full list is Dara, Moran, Kennelly, Sean O'Sulllivan, Bohane, Aiden O'Shea & Sheehan.
Aiden O'Shea came on for only the last kick of the ball.

O'Mahony was a doubt for the final all week with the flu and while he played, he was not in tipp top shape.
The day was also tough on asthmatics; consequently, it seems O'Mahony took a few extra puffs of his inhaler.
The word from home is that all the documentation was correct so O'Mahony should be fine.
What is not fine is the leaking of the story before the hearing to clear/convict O'Mahony.
It appears the 'leak' did not come from the Kerry side.

Jesus - this year keeps getting worse.
Hopefully nothing sinister involved, however, ignorane can hardly be a defence after the Frankie Sheehan affair.
The player is entitled to a proper defence but if found guilty he deserves any ban coming his way.
On a broader note, hopefully the indiclipne shown (throughout) this year will be a bad memory now that Jack is back.

The dreaded news......
Still I would not begrudge a lad the chance of making a career in sport, which of us could turn down that chance?
Losing Moran too would be a shame.
I am not surprised this news has come out a few days after the Narries were knocked out of the club championship.
Best of luck in the trials lads.
