QuoteWhat counties don't have a hurling team?, All the counties in Connacht and Ulster, Bar Antrim and Galway.
Quote

AFIK all the counties in Ulster and Connacht have teams competing in the for the All Ireland at the grade their fit for either the Chrsity Ring, Nicky Rackard and the Lory Meagher. Ulster even has it's own championship, where the other counties play through to meet Antrim in the final.

I'd say that it's safe to assume that Creighton was the only Mayo member of the FG parilmentry party to vote against Kenny yesterday

well on the way to the end of the second week on the champix, and been off the smokes for two days. In a heap from them. Side effects like mood swings and bouts of dizzyness kicked in when i went on to the larger dose, also a sever lack of energy and along with some minor stomach discomfort for about two and half hours after i take each pill. But have to stick with it

I've heard and read about the side effects too, Stephenite but I'm just so sick of trying and failing with other means, just willing to give it a go and hope it works. If Saturday in Sligo didn't bring on the nasty side effects I don't think anything will though

Had tried patches and gum before and going cold turkey none of them ever worked or I just hadn't the will power. Went to the Doc and got a prescription for something called champix, on the seventh day of it now. I'm still smoking as per directed by the instructions up until  day 14 of the prescription, but the drug has really given me a broken sleep pattern  over the last few nights and I've found that where as normally, I'd have two left in a box of 20 by the morning, I have five or more now left from the day before.

You should watch "The Corner" sniper from the same people behind the wire was a mini series that was on before it, very good to. David Simon's new show "Treme" started on TV about two months ago in the states based on the lives of people in New Orleans three months after hurricane Kathrina, enjoying the show so far and few old heads from The Wire in it too.

When looking for mine last year in Mayo called Hibernian and got quoted €800, went into their office in town and got it for €600, how can the same company have €200 in the difference from their call centre in Galway and the office in the town?

QuoteLooks like Maughan is't impressed by JOMs training methods or schedule and isn't shy about saying so!
This from his Mayo Advertiser column:

Quote
Mayo, on the other hand, appear to have plenty of work to do in the physical stakes. They have been presented by management with a schedule of training and matches over the next five weeks that practically leaves me breathless. It is punishing to say the least, and I would question if it will have the team fresh and hungry for championship. Those who are lucky enough to be included in the championship panel for the summer ahead can look forward to games against Donegal, Cavan, Cork, Westmeath, and Dublin before they play Sligo. When you throw in club games and a few other collective training sessions in Castlebar, it sounds like the team is being punished for the below par performance against Cork.

Have you a link to that article?

Quotenot in my opinion anyway. think there was a five year period from 68 to 72 when no band touched them and not many since have. this is as good as anything they've done in 30 years and it couldn't make the cut back then. always preferred them with Mick Taylor in the band.

Couldn't agree more with you there, in that time period they were fantastic really came into their own from first being a blues cover band, through the 60s pop. Was a pity Taylor lasted such a short time with them, i read a great book called STP on their American tour in 1972, and reading no wonder Taylor couldn't hack the lifestyle, not many could
