General discussion / PC question
July 27, 2007, 08:59:55 PM
I've recently changed my broadband provider after moving house as my new address wasn't in a cable area. So after giving Virgin the boot I've switched to Sky as it's very cheap if you already subscribe to the tv channels.

Anyway since the switch I've been unable to watch any of the live feeds/repeats on the RTE site, as it thinks I'm outside of Ireland. (I'm in the 6 counties), whereas before I had no problem.

Called Sky but the very friendly Pakistani gentleman hadn't the foggiest what I was on about and suggested I contact RTE, but on thier site it clearly says not to.

Ant ideas to rectify would be welcomed.

Of course it has to be the Dubs.

Sure don't most of the media demand that they must win the AI, as it will be good for the GAA, and so thier supporters follow suit

Yawn....  ::)

Disaster, thats it fucked completly lads.

In '05 Messer Burns never tipped Tyrone to win a match after the Ulster semi final against Cavan, and we know what happened.

The ballox has put the blight on us now  ::) ::)

I like Joe Brolly, he always speaks his mind, is never fazed by the endless silly comments he has to put up with from his RTE collegues, and will fly the Ulster flag whenever possible.

So he pissed a few Conner M fans from Mayo off with one remark. Get over it I say, it is but one mans opinion  ;)

€10 is a small price to pay to get the bonus of an All Ireland semi  ;)

It was the same last year, €45 for semis, and Laois/Mayo had to pay that for their quarters.

The price of tickets for Dublin/Offaly was higher than for any other provincial semi-final. I think there was a reason for it but I can't remember what it was...

Fair point Hound, I can't remember what i paid for my tickets for the last semi i was at two years ago, could have been €45, maybe cheaper.

I was just happy to get a ticket no doubt

That's scandalous alright KM. Just goy my tickets sorted for the 1/4 next Saturday, but didn't trust the "emailed tickets" thingy, call me old fashioned...

Why the €10 hike for the Kerry 1/4 final? Are all semi finals gonna be €45? Seems steep is it not?

I'm sure Derry need no motivation to play Tyrone at any time, let alone after last Sunday.

I see with the postponement of tomorrow's Hurling Quarter Finals, RTE 2's Sunday Game will feature a review of the Joe Years,at 9.30pm. Should be well worth watching, surely Spillane will have to say something good?

Anything good Spudane will have to say about Joe will be behind gritted teeth, sure wasn't it Joes fault Ulster Football started to make the Kingdom look less than ordinary, at times.

Jimmy Smyth was terrible granted,

But I'd have Sidebottom anyday over Lyster, he's so annoying it's untrue.

Malloney is the top of the pile IMO

I think the replay should be offered, despite the fact that Tyrone are "dammed if the do, dammed if they don't". If a match was offered, yes another game would need to be played, but lets face it, if the umpire had been wearing the right specs and not the pair he uses for reading the Irish News family notices, the game would be being played reagrdless.

If we don't offer a replay I will feel for the Derry minors, the window of opportunity to win a minior Ulster medal for any player is obviously small, so they deserve another crack at us.

Come on Tyrone Board, offfer the replay, we'll win by 5 and that'll be the end of the arguement.

Quotemike, nobody despise's tyrone more than me but FFS let it go. fair enuf it was a disappointin way to lose, but at this stage it should be used for only motivational purposes by the derry management if derry met tyrone again later on in the championship (which i believe they will)

Fair enough, if is ok with you lads its ok with me.

I'm just looking out for the erry's of the world. You understand.

..or whoever else Tyrone might happen to be up against  ???
