Messages - slow corner back

Around the time yer man Pearson became chairman of Hull everyone reckoned Brown was a dead man walking as the pair had had spme sort of fallout in the past ( cant remember the details ). Seems like a strange time to change manager with nine games to go though. Good luck to whoever takes over because IMO opinion Hull are not overly blessed with talented players.

I was thinking the AIF if so it is a hell of a long time.

I am not a rugby player at all and could well be talking nonsense but how hard would it be to coach goalkicking to a talented out half? While we are at it why dont Rob Kearney and possibly one of the wings take a little coaching too to give Ireland some options at place kicking time. I noticed in yesterdays game for one long range penalty wales had a choice of Jones, Hook or Halfpenny to take it. Do Irish coaches always rely on the out half to take the kicks?

I caught the tail end of a report on this on the morning news and heard someone call for him to resign. At first I thought it was more sensationalist stuff from the press... then I heard the full story later in the day. Unbelievable his position is completely untenable he has to go. However it does beg the question Is there a senior Cleric in Ireland who has not been party to a cover up at some stage in the last 30-40 years? Given the scale of the problem and how widespread it has been all over the country all of them must have had suspicions/ heard rumours about some of the goings on.

Just a curiosity question here but when was the last time Cork beat KK before today?

Well done to CPC. Is that the fourth time in five years that an ulster side has got to the all ireland colleges final? Ballycastle have done two back to back and I know St pats Maghera won one a few years back also. I had a vague recollection of St Marys Belfast loosing a final three or four years ago but I could be wrong on that.

Simon McCrory at wing half back ahead of Neil McAuley? For once in my life I agree with minder, that full forward line does not overly impress. Good to see Paul Shields back but would him and Shane McNaughten have the height and physique to make an intercounty midfield? Not especially hopeful but at least we are at home and it is good to see McGee and Shields back.

Excellent result, how often have AC been hit for 7 over two legs? Rooney is unstoppable right now, needs wrapped in cotton wool between games from now to the end of the season.

Hard work but a good three points. After Arsenal and Burnley earlier it is fairly obvious that every point from now on is going to have to be fought for tooth and nail.

I think i  general hurling, certainly back in the eighties and carried through to the nineties was more physical but with much less pace. There were less cameras at the games and players got away with more. I dont remember Offaly as a particularly dirty side although Kevin Kinihan was a bit of a timber merchant, in an old fashioned kinda full back way. That said Brian Lohan or Diarmuid O Sullivan were hardly shrinking violets either.

The Dubs undoubtedly had the result of the day. Not too many of us saw that coming. In fairness to Laois they came very close to upsetting Clare, Rigney seems to have them moving in the right direction. Surprisingly comprehensive win for Carlow too, fair play to them.

Here we go for another week
Limerick V Cork Last years strikers V this years. Although Justins team appear better than Geralds last year they still will not be able to match Cork who should win with a bit to spare
Dublin V Tipp: Last week was very poor for Dublin. Anthony Daly will be looking for a reaction from his players. He may well get one but not enough to beat Tipp IMO. Tipp by about 5
Galway V Waterford: May well be the match of the weekend. Waterford were impressive against Dublin and Galway did just about enough against Limerick. I think Galway will improve this week a nick a tight one Galway by two
Kilkenny V Offaly : Offaly must have annoyed someone in Croke Park. Trips to Leeside and Nowlan park for your first two games is a bit unfair. Offaly did beat KK in the walsh cup and put up a decent show for about 55 minutes against Cork however the Cats will want revenge for the walsh cup and should get it.
Whoever Offaly annoyed Down must have upset also because they follow up a trip to Ennis with one to Wexford. After a hiding last week this week things will be similar but maybe not so clinical. Wexford with a bit in hand
Carlow still hurting from a one point reverse in Belfast wil be looking to get a win under their belts against westmeath. This will be a close one but home advantage might swing it for westmeath.
Kildare get to host Antrim who are a long way from being world beaters but should have too much for Kildare
The last match in Div 2 is Laois against Clare. This could be a close exciting game if Laois can play to the top of their ability but even so I would still expect Clare to edge them.
Lower down wins for London Kerry and Meath fingal and South Down ( maybe)

That is a very wobbly looking side. Anderson on the left of midfield with Gibson/Scholes in a two man midfield??

Were you at the cork match today Reilers? I was wondering how your new full back went? I thought Cadogan looked OK at full back last year and wondered why he was dropped. Was it due to his football commitments?
