If any of them work or have an address in another county which take part in the Ring/Rackard/Meagher Cups, they are entitled to play for that county, provided both county secretaries are happy with it. Each county in the Ring/Rackard/Meagher Cups can adopt five such players.

The only thing that could happen would be that if five of the players either work or have an address in Kerry, they could transfer over the border. A Kerry team with say Sean Og, John Gardiner, Ben O'Connor, Joe Deane and Cathal Naughton in it would walk the Christy Ring Cup. As long as both county secretaries sign the form, they can transfer - provided there are no objections from other counties.

Id say Frank would have no problem in signing that transfer form........

Back door competition. Every team guaranteed three games. Good system....

Im sure youve all noticed the mass exodus of players going out abroad - mostly transferring to London at the moment. Would I be right in saying that London should have fairly strong GAA sides next year? I know Gary McCloskey from Leitrim transferred in June. Is there any other IC players that may feature next year for London? To view all transfers, go to archives in the GAA website..

I would appreciate a PM here also, if anyone knows.

Rule of thumb which I tend to use:

12 years = 32' hurl
10 years = 30' hurl
8 years = 28' hurl
6 years = 26' hurl

If the child is big/small for their age, adjust the size of hurl appropriate.

Hurl should just come up to the start of the pocket in childs trousers.

Brickens and Bekan.

Bekan parish stretches from the back of Ballyhaunis Pitch all the way to within a mile of Knock. Brickens covers most of the road from Ballyhaunis to Claremorris. Its a big enough area but with sparce population. Only two National Schools (Bekan and Logboy) feed into the club. A lot of the Logboys go to play with Ballyhaunis also, so they really only have one and a half schools feeding the club.

County Minor A Football Final, Sun 09 Nov at 2:00
Knockmore v Aghamore, Ref: TBC in Charlestown

However, if Aghamore beat Kilbride tomorrow in the Connacht IFC then the Aghamore Intermediates are due to play their final the following Sunday 9th November, so the Minor final will probably be put off for another week.

Its strange how a fellow who started at centre-back for Mayo against Derrry in the Championship in 2006, cant even make his club team a year later.... Is there any reason for this?

Where will the Ballagh - Eastern Harps game be played? Its a home game for Mayo champions but it has to be a county ground. Surely it would be daft bringing them both over to Castlebar or Ballina? Charlestown would be a good venue for it, but I don't think  it has intercounty status!!

Westmeath are serious enough about this alright. In the season just gone (2008), there was a ten week break between the end of the end of the league and the start of the Christy Ring. It was like two seperate seasons with such a break. The only games happening back then were the Ulster Championship games. All striving Christy Ring teams would love to have a few competetive games in the run into the ring Cup. Westmeath would be strong enough to enter the Ulster championship at semi-final stage Id say.

If Westmeath are allowed into Ulster - and I see no real reason why they shouldn't be - they should have to play from the first round. They shouldn't enter the draw at the semi-final stage while an Ulster county needs to play a couple of games to get there.
The same goes for Galway and Antrim in Leinster

It would be pointless bringing in Westmeath in the opening round as they would thrash either Cavan or Fermanagh. The one good thing about the Ulster Championship is that it is well graded using a stepladder system of progression. Westmeath would be on a par with Down so they would both enter the championship at the same stage.

They couldnt show the Ballagh-Charlestown Mayo county final as they wouldnt be able to find a flag bit of ground to perch the camera. Its like Beirut down in McHale Park with all the development. Real armageddan stuff....
