Do cork have a chance?

I think if Cork had a full deck to pick from they'd have a right crack at it, but Hurley especially is a huge loss. He'd take marking so it makes it easier for Derry. The midfield battle will be one to watch here. Should be good.

Really enjoyed listening to the GAA hour interview with Stevie O'Neill. What a player he was. Amazing to hear he had totally stopped playing club football and was only doing a bit of cycling before he made the comeback that time. Still knocking around with the Masters team now. You'd still pay to watch him!

So...surely there's 100 pages in this one given the history!

It's funny, wouldn't half as confident as I was of a win going into the 2021 Semi final. But can see us winning if David Cliff, Seánie and Paudie are on song. Midfield area is the big concern for me. And who is going to mark Darragh Canavan. Tom Sull would normally take McCurry with Foley on Donnelly but Tom may need to take Darragh Canavan. Don't see another viable option.

Going to be interesting as always anyway!
Why do you have Tyrone on a 'Throne'?!  Freudian slip?!!!

Because that's how it sounds when a lot of people say it! To my ears anyway..

Imho, Tyrone have better backs,  midfield and both teams have some very tasty forwards
Fully expect Darragh to be taken out of it early on .........again.  Kerry have a habit of that
Tyrone to win by 3

Because that's not something that Tyrone would do at all, at all..

I agree Tyrone midfield is stronger possibly. It's not really about who has stronger "backs" these days so much as how quickly can you get your cover in place or even more importantly that you don't give away shabby turnovers like we did in 2021. The McKenna and McShane goals in that game were shocking from a defensive viewpoint.

Tyrone Kerry
Monaghan Armagh
Dublin Mayo
Cork Derry

Best draw for neutrals

Full Moon called it right.
Derry, Armagh and Monaghan must be happy with that draw and have a great chance of making the semis.
Was thinking last night when watching TSG when Cavanagh and Tomas O'Se were discussing Canavan bros v the Clifford bros that we'll probably see that next weekend.
No doubt Kerry will be all out for revenge after the 2021 show. Wonder would they let us put the match back a few weeks?

No problem at all. We'll play it in Garvaghey aswell shur hi.. ;D

Surely can have 3 Nordy convoys travelling down same day so was thinking Derry v Cork (fans will be like Persians v 300..literally) and Kerry v Tyrone on the Saturday. But who knows with the GAA.

Disappointing result for Kerry. Horrible error by the keeper for the decisive goal and just before HT too. I did think Monaghan were marginally better on the day though having watched it back. Kerry will rue some of the wasted possessions and a few other errors. I thought the keeper lost his nerve a bit and just belted every kickout long for a finish but they are 16/17 so hard to blame them too much. Minor needs to go back to 18 as people have said here. GAA people up and down the country know it, just the few in the Ivory tower of Croke park won't acknowledge it.

Watched the 1st half of the Cork v Roscommon game. How Rowcommon lost that game, they dominated the first half.

Lost their composure and allowing Cork to be just one point behind at half time was a big moment in the game which included the big home Cork following finding their voice.

Credit to Cork on the pressure and ability to turnover the ball so often but the error prone and poor decision making by the rossies helped.

Debatable call on Conor Daly before the match winner  and that stage Roscommon scored 5 points in a row and looked more likely to grab the winner themselves.

Debatable my Bollax. IT was totally a wrong call  , in real time I thought he must have bounced it twice (2nd bounce he hesitated was going to kick changed his mind and let the ball bounce clearly legal . When I  looked back  on the replay   there was only one bounce  , I don't know whatv the ref saw  ,He  May have reacted to the crowd . An terrible call from the ROSSIE point of view that basically decided the game.
Absolutely 100% wrong now that I've seen video of it.
Terrible decision.

He threw the ball up in the air - you are not allowed to throw the ball in Gaelic football. It was telling that there was little objection from any Roscommon players. It was a strange one but can't blame the ref for that one. He made some poor calls for both teams throughout the game and didn't give Cork much overall I thought.

Not taking goal chances and pushing on when ye had Cork under pressure is why the game was lost, not the ref. Thought the better team won overall and I had predicted a Rossie win but Cork could have been out of sight after an hour if they took their chances.

Roscommon (given the Cork injuries now)
Monaghan
Tyrone

Mayo (IF Kelly and Comer don't play, Galway otherwise)

Cathal o Rourke was excellent in the first drawn game
Was taken out in the replay
Can we agree on this at least , if you recall your player was booked then substituted.
If you note I haven't named any names apart from Kennelly who acknowledged what he did  so won't be.
Let's agree to differ .

Eh no, we're not going to agree..you said "Kerry are apt to drop the knees"...

Give me one example of that happening or else admit you were making it up or talking sh*t.

Seems very unfair on Kerry minors to play the Monaghan minors as part of a double header with the Monaghan seniors.
Didn't Croke Park take the minor finals away from before the senior final to protect them from having to play in front of a large crowd that are there for the senior game?
That should apply for other minor games also.

Definitely. This is after dragging Kerry minors to Kilkenny for the Kildare game already. Very unfair.

As I said Kerry are as apt to drop knees, nip ,etc and have always been for as long as I remember
Cathal o Rourke being taken out in 2000
Kennelly in the all Ireland final throw in against cork to name two that aren't even recent
Undoubtedly as cynical as anyone and  fair play they know how to
Win

Cathal O'Rourke who's main job that day in 2000 (admitted by Oisín McConville) was to take out Darragh O'Sé? Yeah jog on..

And name one example of a Kerry player dropping their knees on a player?

Plenty over the line stuff goes on and Kerry have plenty of players who have transgressed. Paul Galvin, Aidan O'Mahony etc. But there's no need to just make stuff up.

Sean Hurson the ref this game as he was for the 2-14 to 1-10 league game back in February

Mayo starting team that night at least 12 should start again?

Colm Reape
David McBrien, Rory Brickenden, Enda Hession
Stephen Coen, Conor Loftus, Donnacha McHugh
Matthew Ruane, Diarmuid O'Connor
Fionn McDonagh, Jack Carney, Jordan Flynn
Aidan O'Shea, James Carr, Ryan O'Donoghue.

Kerry 7 or 8?

Shane Murphy
Graham O'Sullivan, Jason Foley, Tom O'Sullivan
Pa Warren, Tadhg Morley, Paul Murphy;
Jack Barry, Barry O'Sullivan;
Dara Moynihan, Paudie Clifford, Micheál Burns;
Tony Brosnan, Darragh Roche, Donal O'Sullivan.

I'd imagine bolded 8 will start for Kerry. Same team to Clare game I'd expect so Ryan in goals, Casey, White, Diarmuid O'Connor, Seánie, Clifford and Geaney to fill the other slots. Geaney may come under pressure, but Donal O'Sullivan injured at a bad time unfortunately for him.

Nipping and griping peoples flesh is common enough in the sport unfortunately, grabbing and twisting fingers happens also. It wasn't a forearm into the face and a closeline tackle though when it happened it looked like he had been closeline/forearm to the head ;)

Sorry, but you must be joking? It is like f*ck..
