GAA Discussion / Re: Winning style of football

Wouldn't at all say it is. The romantic notion that we're seeing a return to 15 vs 15 and no massed defense is tosh is all I'm saying.

Dublin in the first half defended deep and in numbers. What really turned the game in their favour yesterday was pressuring the Kerry half back line with 6/7 men to limit the amount of good ball flowing out of that sector. That's a massive improvement, but instead of doubling down with a sweeper in front of the full back line they're just effectively doing the same thing out the field.

The result is that turnovers, because they are happening in the opponents half instead of their own, can more readily be converted to scores.

Several times yesterday I remarked to my neighbour that there were only 2 Dublin players in Kerry's half.

The blanket defense hasn't gone away, we're simply witnessing higher levels of fitness and in the Dublin team's case bags and bags of pace meaning they can move from defence to attack with great speed.

Life Of Pi is one of the most visually astonishing movies I've ever seen. Don't miss it in the cinema.

Seen the life of pi before I left, it was very good but by Jesus it was intense and overload for the senses, the way they rein acted the tiger was beyond comprehension, the visuals were amazing, once your locked in emotionally to the lead character it makes for uneasy viewing but in a challenging way, it's hard to explain, I was on edge for a lot of the movie and its not a place I like, but you have to admire a movie that can take u there.

Seen the hobbit aswell, slightly disappointed but still thought it was good, the 48 rps 3d used to film it was annoying at times as the movements of some characters seemed to be in fast forward, I didn't feel much was in 3d, this movie has wow moments aplenty, the moon scene in riven dale is awesome, martin freeman is brilliant as are all dwarfs, some amazing action set pieces with mountain fight unreal, and the troll scene and rabbit sled...worth a watch for sure,

Thanks for the links above, watching cloud atlas, half way through and enjoying it..

I thought Life Of Pi was tremendous. The biggest compliment I can give it is that it looked just like I imagined when I read the book.

General discussion / Re: iPhone 5

I'm still using a 3Gs which is coming towards the end. I've thought about moving to a Galsxy S3 but said I'd hold on and get a look at iPhone 5.

Upon further thought I've decided I prob will buy the iPhone 5 as all my apps are from the Apple app store and all my music etc. is on iTunes and it'd be too much bother to redo all that.

Shit. My rankings didn't work! Drafting 6th based on what was picked in front of me it should have taken Brady.

Must've set it up wrong.

Bum. There's hardly a player on my team that I would've picked.

I have a late one tommorow night, and will be in the office until well after 8.30pm.
I hope there are no speed cameras on the way home because if there are i'l be getting some penalty points.

Try the i phone while driving. You can handle the draft while stuck in traffic

No he can't. You need flash. I phone doesn't support it.

Bloody typical. I was one of those who couldn't draft for Montana on Saturday night. Was happily mock drafting away on Sunday while hungover, in preparation for Thursday night.

Started a new job on Monday morning, and guess what? Work night out on Thursday! Gonna have to spend tonight doing some serious ranking!

Nobody else is screaming, but I'm not sure how many are in the States. in fairness to anyone over there, midweek is a killer unless they can lock their office or something :)

At a guess - L'esprit are in Ireland, Coolera is Ireland, GBB is Ireland, Ballyhaise bills is Ireland I think, I'm Ireland, Rossies are Ireland, Vikings I think are Ireland too?, Clowns are Ireland, and I think Helmets and Forte Yr old are also Ireland.

If so, I'll move to Thursday evening of next week. How does that sound?

I know that'd be fine with me. Outside of tomorrow night I'm good.

I'd prefer the draft not be this Saturday night- pretty much any other time This weekend would be grand!

I've already agreed to go to The Undertones on Saturday!

Changed the team name from "Revis and Butthead" to "Forte Yr Old Virgins".
