49ers dominating, particularly on defence but need that to show on the scoreboard.

Quote from: SaffronSports on February 11, 2024, 04:53:46 PMWhat even happened with the goal? It looked like he was waving it over the bar then it's right in the goalmouth? Second half I thought Antrim were brilliant

Goalie pulled ball down from going over the bar with his stick and it dropped in behind the line
Forward came in an fouled him afterwards but by that time he was picking ball out of net area just behind the line.
Bad mistake but like most of these things there was plenty of players outfield that fumbled ball and lost possession leading to scores.
Between that and the Dublin physio delaying play and the time not added on, it was a sick way to lose the points.

Good to have Campbell and mc Kenna back, some of the new players struggled but let's judge them after a full league campaign.

That makes sense actually. I saw the stick going up and thought it was the usual that the goalies do when the balls going over the bar. So he pulled it down and into the goal, disaster.

I thought Coby was brilliant as was Niall McKenna. Coby's goal was brilliant TBF. Great catch, then he was taking the point then realised he had space and finished brilliantly.

Hopefully we can bring a few of that bench on and get them time on the pitch. Still very young but it would be good to see them kick on.

Another good episode with Lindsay Peat. Competed internationally in rugby, basketball and soccer as well as winning an All Ireland with the Dubs.

Probably the least interesting bit was the GAA story as I remember watching Cliodhna O'Connors episode a few years ago and that kind of covered that same period and the mad run of losses to Cork.

Well done to them.

Weak effort. Shouldn't have played them. If afraid of sanction, should have just stood on the court and refused to play.
Not in the bigger scheme of things. They laid down an important marker. Other teams will follow.
Israel is never going to be treated as a normal country unless the occupation ends.

To be honest it's not as far as I'd like to have seen them go but I do understand why they had to suck it up and play the match. To be fair, they've went further than 99% of the worlds governments who say and do nothing or even actively support it.

He's right about Swann, just using the Health post as a shop window to try and get into Westminster

Westminster is more lucrative and it definitely looks like Swann has his sights set there. The expenses and perks far outweigh anything Stormont can provide.

Would he run in NA against Ian Óg?

He has done so in the past and never really laid a glove on him.

Quote from: illdecide on February 04, 2024, 03:03:29 PMPalma for me has to be dropped and I reckon he wouldn't care too much. Abada is very poor too and I think our wing play has a lot to do with Kyoto's form. Maeda and Kuhn have to our two wingers with Vata to come on as a replacement. LB is a problem but we didn't realise how much we miss Taylor even though he needs an upgrade but how bad is Bernie 🤷♂️. Genuinely I think we shit in the nest and handed them the incentive, we're gonna have to beat them home and away to win the league as we'll drop more points probably starting at Easter road during the week 🤦♂️

I'd argue that the biggest problem for Kyogo has been the speed the ball is being played to him. He does his best work off the shoulder of the defender but we'd rather pass it sideways 400 times than release an early ball for him. The disallowed goal yesterday was a good example. Early ball played and Kyogo caused problems. Palma ended up offside for the rebound unfortunately but that ball is what Kyogo craves.

Suspended without pay?

They probably can't withhold his pay as his wage will come from public money. If it's unresolved he could still be an independent MLA or join another party until the next election anyway.

Independent or not, still would be impossible to find the time to be a county manager as well.

Yeah they're both jobs that wouldn't be your conventional 9-5 or 40 hours per week. Technically if Laois were happy enough he could carry on with both but you'd be guaranteed he wouldn't get re-elected.
I wouldn't vote for him anyway but really wouldn't bother me if a politician took that job on.

I just don't think the two jobs are compatible for one man. Something like teaching, you know your hours and you're not working at the weekend. As an MLA, Stormont can run late into the evening, you'll have committees that you're on, you have loads of constituency issues to deal with. I don't feel it would be possible to do both to the best of your ability.

Quite a few of that Derry team have had the Laochra Gael treatment now. Johnny McGurk, Joe Brolly and Anthony Tohill definitely had one. McGurk my favourite of them tbh due to having been down the gambling path myself.

Both good players but not greats like Mahomes. 6 AFC Championship games in 6 years in the league, going to his 4th Super Bowl. They're all great players but Mahomes just has that stone cold winner mentality.

Chiefs looking likely here. That play where it looked like a TD and the ball was knocked loose probably killed the game. Ravens just doing stupid stuff now
