Naas beat Shinrone, the Offaly champions.
Serious work going in at Naas, their juveniles play in the Kilkenny leagues, big effort.

Naas seem to be putting in serious work at underage level, weve played them at carryduff and at lamh dearg in both codes recently, fair way to travel for u9 games.

See some lad scored 2:12 down south, so I wouldn't be getting overly worried about getting ahead of yourselves here on who gets to an All-Ireland final.

Dunloy rode their luck at the end, 3 points up and 2 super clearances off the line, head up the parl and scored a goal themselves.

Far too many wides from cushendall.

Anyone tried the torpey bambu? With the problems surrounding ash id say we'll see a few more players using them soon, surely better than those synthetic hurls.

County final scheduled for Corrigan.A total joke.

Ballycastle and Loughgiel  8)are almost on the doorstep of both participants yet some p***k on the county board has decided  ???to schedule the final some 45 - 50 miles away from both villages.

Price of diesel obviously not considered when making this stupid decision.
What's the split on the gate?

St Johns would'nt need a split on the gate, social club/bar should be bringing in a clondyke considering the games hosted both club & county over the last few seasons!! Well CD played an absolute blinder!

Where is st johns bar located? ???

Dont want to constantly be on his case, kids think youre  criticising them if ya try to correct them all the time.

My eldest is striking cackhanded, he is right handed but when striking his left hand goes to the bottom of the hurl with his right hand above.
Hes 8 years old and has been hurling a couple of years now, im trying my best to coach it out of him but he keeps reverting back, ive read some players do indeed play this way and ive heard ppl say if hes comfortable that way then leave it.
I dont want to be constantly on at him about it, should i leave as is or anyone any tips in changing?

This will hold him back a lot. Walter Walsh massive exception.seen a lad use tape to mark shaft. His right hand should always be nearest the top of handle ,throwing with his left . Left hand then returned to closet to bás. On his left side he will throw the ball under and strke back handed.

Try to downsize his stick maybe also, it might help

Need to correct it, everything else is ok, catches with his left, hurl always in his dominant right hand, just when striking his left hand is coming across and sitting at the top pf the hurl, hopefully can correct it.

Always wondered what cack handed actually was, i.e. was it someone having his weaker hand towards the top of the handle or was it someone who swung on their supposed weaker side.  If its the former, then it can be an issue with striking off the weakside.  If its the latter, there is no issue.

Its the former, and looking at things it defo will provide issues when striking off his left side, need to correct it but dont want to be constantly harping on or criticising him.

Dominant hand on top which by what you are describing is what he is doing.

Can he strike off both sides on the ground firstly or is he inclined to walk round the ball to strike off his preferred side?

Sorry if i confused you, hes right handed, when striking from his hand his right hand is closest to the bàs.

He is striking as if hes holding a golf club if that makes sense, his hands are in the opposite positions, should be right hand with the left sliding down on top but hes the opposite.

He can strike of both sides when striking on the deck.

Can you get Brian Walsh hurls in the 6 counties :-\ ?
There is a northern agent for them i think they work out of dunloy but i havent been able to get in touch with them.
A shop local to me does the star, declan barron and used to have canning before they stopped, i dont like the declan barron hurls the shaft feels very rounded to me on any ive lifted.

His number is 07517 253589

Thanks kidder, ive tried it a few times and left msgs to no avail.

That's a strange business model  :-\

is that not how all business' operate now.
As for ASH Die back ive been hearing about for about 30 years now  are any Hurleys made from Irish ash now?
Did Canning hurls not recently stop production because of the difficulty I'm obtaining Ash?
Yip, canning no longer making hurls. Ive seen another hurl recently where its ash but not the root and then a coating over it, sand quartz on the bàs to apparently improve grip and striking, an eco hurl i think it was called, did see a pic once if a keeper with a sanding disc attached to his bàs lol.
