Where did I say that they complain about the sacrifices required?

I simply replied to your statement that they don't make sacrifices, which is nonsense.

I never said the enjoyment didn't override the sacrifices involved.

You claimed there were no sacrifices.  There are.

Of course many players graduated / are successful professionally.  This is down in spite of their commitment to football, and they deserve credit.

Of course being away from your significant other is a sacrifice.

To state that club players don't make sacrifices in order to play is incredibly naive.

Adherence to an all consuming training programme, which dictates your diet, and your ability to socialize with a few drinks etc.

Time spent away from wives, children, girlfriends etc.

The inability to plan holidays, weekends away etc.

Loss of earnings through lack of overtime.

Career development stunted due to the heavy time commitent involved.

Studies disrupted.

There's an endless list IF you are part of a team driven to succeed.

This is by no means an exhaustive list.

Mr Michael Kerr, chairman of the CCC, from the Carrickmore club who remain unaffected by any of these goings on.

Clear enough?

Look, i fully agree that no player should be asked to play on consecutive days.  It is absolute madness.  I'm asking you to step back and examine why it's happening.

If the first round of the championship was in August, do you think clubs like Clonoe would be so insistent about using their players?  Do you think these clubs would rely on their "sufficient cover" to get through these few weeks?

I would say that they would be a lot more accommodating if the pressure of an imminent championship match was taken away.

Why are the CCC so insistent on an early round?  A better question.  How much real discussion regarding the timing of the championship has been had by the CCC as a group?

Check it out and come back to me.

Who is really making the BIG decisions that affect all our club players, and now our most successful county team?

Are these decisions been taken without any agenda to suit their own interests?

The whole county is fucked at the behest of one man, and the majority are spending their time arguing over the crumbs falling from the table.

I, for one, am questioning any ongoing support financially and otherwise for all things Tyrone, until decisions are made in the best interests of the clubs, and players.
who is this man of whom you speak

You're no Sherlock Holmes, are you?

You're admitting that the county board don't give a shit about the clubs championship preparations, but direct your criticism at club managers?

What's the point.

I'm not a Clonoe man, but surely the issue is that Cassidy wants to play with his full team to prepare for the imminent championship match.  It's not about whether or not he has sufficient cover.

How is this so hard to grasp?

The early championship means that clubs can't adequately prepare.  This is why this pressure cooker scenario exists.

Again, why the need for an early championship?

Agendas at play.

The starting team were told not to play.  Subs were allowed.

Any who did play, like McNulty, did so against the wishes of the management.

If the championship was at a later date, the clubs wouldn't be exerting the same pressure on these players to play.  However, they all feel the need to use them as they have a very limited timeframe within which to prepare for the championship.

Why is the championship early?  See my earlier posts.

The whole thing is a f**king farce.

Some uninformed bullshit being spouted on here too.

It's very simple.

The under 21 management asked for the matches to be postponed.

The CCC refused.

The under 21 management wrote to clubs asking for their players to be excluded from the games.

A lot of clubs showed an unwillingness to cooperate.

The under 21 management told their players at training last night that if they played they would be immediately dropped from the panel.  They also arranged training for this evening to clash with the games.

But as long as the championship goes ahead at the end of May, this is all perfectly acceptable.

Good grief, have you any concept of what I've been talking about on this today?

It is my abhorrence on how clubs are being treated that drove me to post on here.

The under 21 management have acted as anyone would in their position.

The problem lies elsewhere.  No foresight in fixture planning, both nationally and locally.  And worse, a determination to push through league games because if they aren't played it questions whether the championship can go ahead in May. And if that doesn't happen, then the current advantage enjoyed by some clubs would be negated come August.

It's so obvious it's painful.

Whilst simultaneously risking the health of every member of their panel?  Do you understand what it takes to win at this level of competition?

Surely in light of the fixture debacle which currently exists, the timing of the championship for the end of May needs to be urgently revised.  Clubs are looking at a situation where they may have only 3 league games with a full panel available.
This weekend's games see teams having to field without their under 21 contingent.  The management told these boys that they were forbidden from playing with their clubs in the first league game of the year.  I will make a prediction that they will hold a training session to coincide with the games to really hammer home the point.
