Played Silouge quite a bit too as it's handy for me coming down the N1 and the others in Dublin to meet up at. Not bad TBH for a public course and have never been held up;

what is a public course? I can only think of one course in the mayo/galway region that is not open to the public , that being galway bay.. Are all the others private but open to the public or are they public?

Suit yourself Dougal. This pretentious tosspot would rather drink a few bottles of quality chemical free beer made in Germany

Having lived in Munich for a couple of years, there's bavarians that woud be killled telling you that Spaten is pure piss and augustiner is pure gold. I liked the Spaten Helles. I dont know the differences in the drewing techniques!

I also had a friend in college that refused to drink teachers whiskey in his hot ones and was always giving out to me for being a penny pincher when I'd arrive home with the bottle of teachers.

One evening, we were having a game of cards and were drinking a few jameson hot ones. I switched the bottles after 3 or 4 hot ones, but he was singing the praises of the hot ones for the evening ( even though he was drinking teachers!!!)

Is that what you call a placebo??

RIP

Its a terrible tragedy. The roads in galway are in a heap at the moment. The talk here at work for the last couple of days  is what road you will take back into galway city in the evenings. There seems to be floods everywhere

On monday evening, I was driving out to oranmore and I had to pull over for a few minutes due to torrential rain. The weather is cat, people need to slow down!

Is the sky sports app only available in the north? That would be very handy especially with a cable to link it to the tv

People who laugh at thier own comedy do my head in. Usually the said jokes arn't even remotely funny and there they would be guffawing away. on top of that, they are usually devoid of any bit of wit.

But doing it in text form is just plain ridiculous.

QuoteI'd actually think you were funny if i didn't already think you were a saddo! People say pints is the most serious and grumpy on the board my vote goes to you! Lol

QuoteDo you realise how gimpish that sounds! Lol

QuoteAre you as predictable in real life as you are on the internet Seanie! Lol

Did anybody else think that the ref was awful? He gave frees in the first half particularly for the slightest little touch - no wonder we get a shock when we hit croke park and the players don't get frees for just falling over. Perhaps a lot of them were frees by the letter of the law but we need to start applying the same standards at club level as are applied at county level.

Yeah, I thought the ref was terrible as well. He was spoiling the game with his constant whistling. The slightest contact at all and it was a free for the player in possession. It would drive you mad. I dont hink it favoured any team in particular, it just lowered the intensity of the game with the constant stopping and starting.

I think Cross could be looking at a few retirements : Tom Nallen, Jimmy Nallen, Ciaran Mac, Joe Keane & Paddy McAndrew.

I think Tom has still plenty to offer and would like to see him stick around for another year.
We'll be looking at the likes of  Sean Kelly & Ian Rowland ( both won north american championships this summer) to replace Mac and Joe Keane. Hopefully Cathal Carolan will improve as well. Brian Benson and Mike Gallagher are both good players as well.

In midfield I think we have a class player in James Cafferty coming though. If he can get a full league under his belt and nail a regular spot he could grow in confidence and be a massive addition.

I think Tom would be hardest to replace, but if Damian Syron got a year free of injury he would certainly be looking to get back in there.

We are definitley back in the pack at this stage, but I think we are still competitive and can hold out some hope for next year.

Disappointing result for Cross yesterday. I think Knockmore were easily the better team and were hungry for victory. They are putting together a decent side and will be hard to beat. Mcloughlin did very well tying up Joe Keane and we were well bet at midfield. I had a feeling we were going to miss Henry Mac.
O'Neill put on another masterclass in point scoring. He's some man. I'd like to see Knockmore win it at this stage as i think they have right mix to make a fist of connacht.

Shrule were pretty poor yesterday. Castlebar were giving far too much space to play nice football and could have been 10 points up at half time. When mortimer and Garvey came on in the second half, they got stuck in to the castlebar numbers 23 and 24 and started turning the game towards Shrule. Castlebar were deserving winners in the end. I think there will be a massive step up in intensity for them in the semi final.

Thanks Gerry.. keep me posted about any nasty letters. My bro bought some clothes on line from america a couple of years ago and he got a nasty bill from customs

I think I will buy that 26% hybrid too. Bloody 4 iron was breaking my heart in Athenry on saturday.

Bad news venter and gerry,I got a bill from Fedex for €22 for the delivery of my Nike Sumo, the club is still works out cheaper than buying it here even with the bill for delivery

Hi Laoislad. Did you just get the one club? ie you paid 22euro on the Nike sumo only. Thats steep enough but still miles cheaper than what you pay at home im sure.

I had dust inside the screen, was very annoying when watching films etc on it. So I decided to book an appointment in the Apple store in Belfast. Brought it in and they said they would replace the screen. Thought to myself happy days. So when I came back 1 hour later they hadn't done anything to the phone, they just decided to give me a new iPhone (assuming its a refurbished one). There was a crack at the back of mine where the cable plugs in and went up to the writing on the back of the iPhone. Didn't bother me that much as was my own fault for breaking it, but they said this was the reason for the dust getting in so they gave me a new iPhone. Couldn't believe it at all.

You may book yourself an appointment on the Apple site and take it in for them to look at. Backup your iPhone before going in though in case any data is lost.

I posted it off yesterday to the insurance crowd and they got back to me today to say it was water damage and they would replace for me.
They actually offered me the option of a 16Gb 3GS for €94 as a replacement. I decided to go for it as it is cheaper than the upgrade and im not get tied in to another 18 month contract with O2.

I havent seen many reviews of 3GS . Is the new operating system all is cracked up to be. She said I'll have it on thursday which is great.

Great win for Cross. When Ballagh pulled level at 07 points all and Andy Moran was starting to run riot it did not look good for us.

Joe Keane senior steadied the ship and won and carried some great ball to get tho e vital last few scores. I thought best for us were Ronan rochford, Mark Leonard and the two Joe Keanes. Gabriel was good around the middle too. We are badly missing Henry Mac to help Gabriel out around the middle. We need more strength around that area to compete with Knockmore.

after all my praise of the iphone, it went on the blink at the weekend. It seems to be a screen problem as I was able to retrieve the photos when I hooked the phone up to the Laptop.

The screen is just gone white with a few dark vertical lines randomly running down the middle of it.

Worse still I am just 3 weeks beyond the 1 year warranty and after reading the terms of my insurance policy, it states that mechanical breakdown is not covered. Looks like Im going to get shafted here.

Selections

Knockmore (outright winners)
Charlestown
Crossmolina ( hopeful selection)
Shrule/Glencorrib

All tight games, except maybe charlestown/Kiltane. but you never know what could happen there either. Didnt Garrymore draw with Charlestown earlier in the championship.

I have the 1Gb plan and have never used anywhere near half the allocation per month. I would listen to the Today FM or Newstalk apps on it from time to time or watch you tube, but Ive never watched a full ninety minute match using the data allocation.

If you have wireless in your house then 1G is definitley enough. Mine always defaults to the wireless once im in the house. I watched  the meath kerry all ireland semi on a handy TVU app when I was in america. I was logged on to free hotel wireless for that.

The iphone is a great yoke. to be able to watch an all ireland semi in your hotel bed in san francisco for free is pretty good. God be with the old days in Boston, when we would have to pay 20dollars to get into Mcganns to watch the football on the box.
