Mj Tierney
Daithi carroll
Paul Kingston
Bruno
Donie Brennan

Great to see laois underage hurling panelists coming from traditional football strongholds. HOPEFULLY this can promote the game further into these areas.
On a side note has anyone heard about the minor setup these year. Has Derek McGrath been able to put his stamp on the panel or is his role simply advisory.
There is a great buzz in the minor panel and Derek McGrath is very involved. Has been at almost every training session (two to three a week ) and runs the entire session. The lads love him and he has really inspired them. There is huge potential in this panel and competition is very strong. Some of the in house training matches have been at championship pace despite the conditions and weather this time of year. There are some challenge matches coming up in the next few weeks against other county teams that will be interesting. There has been great attendance from the full panel (about forty I think).

While he has been there more than expected I think this post is way over the top numbers have been good but the training matches have been okay not near championship pace as you say .
The future however looks bright if we can bulk them up a bit

I agree. This is actually getting ridiculous now, and it needs to stop. Comparing one fellas commitment to another proves nothing. Even mentioning it in passing is not on, as it implies upon reading that Donie doesn't care. I know nothing about him, but I do know he has given a lot of time to Laois. It is obvious that he has been committed. If that has changed, for whatever reason, then that is his business. He's probably a better footballer than some of the Dublin forwards, and doesn't get half the recognition or rewards. I'd understand if anyone wanted a break from that. This is a GAA problem and one they are ignoring. They and we cannot take for granted that lads are going to keep turning out for their county. Life is there to be enjoyed and modern life is an expensive business. We don't pay his bills and we don't pay for his holidays. So a bit of respect please.

Great quote

Donie will be back for one last shot too

BATMAN "Connolly isn't up to that standard at all"

Funny I thought he was one of our better players in the first half esp in first 25  minutes

O'Carroll well beaten in the one and battles .

Offaly lorded midfield o Sullivan looked lost and johno while he tried hard was hufing and puffing after 20 mins .

Munnelly looked sharp .

Comerford was raw but showed well for the ball .

Corbett is never a keeper .
Brody come back quick .

All in all a bit disappointing on the back of the news Paul Donie Steven Attride  and Gary Walsh won't be around this year .

On the plus side Piggot looked composed and strong in the half back.line

Poor game as was most of the fair on show in this year's championship .
Maybe the year the county players had took it's toll.

Rathdowney Errill were full value for the win .
Their backs were more organised and a lot braver on the ball.
Hitting hard when they needed to .

Ross had a good game he is a joy to watch in full flight.

They had some support there it seems to grow no other team/teams brings bigger support in hurling or football than R/E
