Got ya now. Do the reverse and laugh at me stuck on the other side of the road.

Someone, someday will find my essay useful. I hope.
Wobbler,
As someone who's done the route many times, I can vouch for everything you say, not much help to the orginial poster but a quality piece of literature on the nightmare that is driving to Belfast lol

As for the orginial poster, 50mins to hour will cover it easily however traffic can be busy coming into Dungannon if your going into town when the schools are on, just depends what time you start and finish at.

I see fsu and ohio state are front runners for the nat championship game providin they win their division. Think this is harsh on auburn or mizzou as even with 1 loss their resumes are mightily impressive. I think ohio states schedule has been too soft to earn a title shot however its such a huge program that voters mightn't look past them

Insane  finish!! Tbh, Auburn have been crazy lucky this year. TWO one in a million plays in the space of a month ::)
If you think this has been all or even mainly luck after yesterday you probably need your stomach pumped because you've swallowed too much of something dodgy.
Ah now Syferus, whilst there's no doubt Auburn have played well this season, those 2 plays to happen in 2 successive games really is something out of the ordinary. Not saying Auburn aren't good but to get to a National Championship luck needs to be on your side. Look at ND last season!

Friend of mine is heading there this weekend.

His buddy is the cross-country coach at Auburn (who is a Cork man) - http://www.auburntigers.com/sports/c-xctrack/mtt/mark_carroll_462698.html

Lucky fecker..! Graham McDowell was a student at UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) under a golf scholarship years ago, winning a bunch of NCAA titles, so there are a few Irish connections!

I'll be settling in for the 8:30pm (Irish) kick-off on the couch.

Really hard to get a hold on what'll happen - the Tide could overwhelm the Auburn option attack and have an easy game of it but it's just as possible Auburn will be the hungier team and at home will put in a monumental shift.

Hoping for an Auburn win but I want whoever does win today to go all the way.
The beers are in and ready for a quality night of football. Agree Syferus, not sure what way the Iron Bowl will go, Alabama could easily blow out the Tigers but just as likely Auburn could win a tight game, it's very hard to call but still think Alabama defense will just be too good for the Tigers one-dimensional game.

Alabama v FSU would be some national championship game!

Auburn beat Georgia in one of the most incredible games I've ever seen. Down two points, fourth and forever in their own half and with 30 ticks left and this happens? Unreal.

One more game to go..

I've no doubt that if auburn could pull it off it would be much greater than their 2010 national title win particularly as the 2010 class had some outstanding individuals, just can't see it though Syferus.

Alabama will load the box with 8 possibly 9 guys in the box  and unless there's a deep threat will eventually stiffle the run. nMore importantly there is no way I can see Alabama giving up 40+ points so the Auburn defence needs to step up big time.

Hope I'm wrong though, fed up looking at Saban lol
The noise!

If ever there was a moment that could make you believe in a team's destiny that was that. If the pass was even just incomplete Auburn's season was done; their shot at the SEC West title against Bama would have evaporated, as would their chance of making the SEC and BSC title games.

If they pull off one more piece of magic in the Iron Bowl Auburn will look back at that play as seminal moment in the program's storied history.

Exciting times in Auburn, they cruised past Arkansas and the Vols (both away) and now only Georgia stands between them and what would be a monumental Iron Bowl at home to Bama.

Georgia is a huge rivalry game in itself for Auburn so they need to be fully focused on the Bulldogs or their season could take a nasty turn. They'll have two weeks to prepare for Bama's arrival as they have a bye week after the Georgia game.

Looking forward to LSU @ Bama tonight, the Tide's only other serious challenge between now and the end of the regular season.

Can't see auburn challengin bama, their too one dimensional so saban has between an the last game of the season to focus on stoppin the run game. Think florida state are the only team able to stop bama winnin another national title

While I agree - Auburn would need to show more in the passing game against the Tide to have any hope, Saban loves to stop a team's main weapon (in Auburn's case, a stellar option offense) and see if they have enough to still be within an ass' roar of Bama - strange things happen in the Iron Bowl. Just look at the 2010 edition where Cam led Auburn from 24-7 down at HT to win in Bryant-Denny in the game that sent Auburn to their SEC and BSC national titles.

Interestingly enough historically Bama's toughest challenges have came from teams with dynamic running/option offenses. I think it could be a hell of a game.

I agree that anything can happen in a local rivalry (who seen the result in the red river rivalry game coming this year), however the difference between 2010 and now is Auburn had Cam Newton and a defensive line who where animals, I just don't see the same difference makers in this Auburn team. Still have memories of the 2010 game, best game by a qb I've ever seen!

Average slate of games on this week!

Good work WeeDons- honestly think we need a someone like yourself in the County Board in charge of fixtures

I'll second that, great effort and showing bit of initiative and forward thinking.

What I don't think has been considered is if we have similar situation this year with seniors in back door and minors winning Ulster. I am a strong believer that no adult game should be postponed due to minor football.

Reckon the teams on 12 should be safe enough. Trillick and Donaghmore play each other as do Greencastle and Eglish and of course Moy and Eglish, so provided there's a winner in these games then looks like would be difficult for more than 2 teams to get to 12.

Things are gettin very interestin at the bottom of div 1, 5 teams on  9 points, looks like going to go down to the wire, even more interestin is lot of these teams play each other.

How many are relegated automatically and how many go into playoffs

As far as I understand bottom team goes down, and then 2nd and 3rd bottom play off, with loser being relegated and winner playing the winner of the Div 2 promotion play off with the winner being promoted/ staying in the Div.

I'll probably get shouted down for this but I have played the old system of 4 x 12 team leagues (a 1A and 1B, Div 2 and Div 3) with playing each team twice, one with and one without county players. I felt this worked well as gave lads football all summer and keep them interested. It would also be a lot easier to forward plan the fixtures. Furthermore it assisted teams like the Moy who could still compete in Senior championship. I feel a return to this system would be beneficial and play the preliminary round and first round of championship in May/June.

However couldn't see this happening as it would weaken the teams sent to Junior and Reserve club championships.

Will any league games go ahead between now and the end of the championship?
i would doubt it.
its hard to see where they would get a  free weekend to fit them in.
i would say it could be 20th october before there is any league football played again

Maybe if the county board hadn't been looking every penny they could get and splitting the championship over 3 weekends, could have got a league match in no problem but sure who cares if clubs are playing in November and December.
