How's brendan gallagher shaping up? Good player in dublin, was hard done by on dublin underage teams, didn;t come from the right club type of shite would have applied there.

From what i gathered he made a good impression scored from play after 30seconds.  Won't go judging him on one performance but needless say Leitrim need scoring forwards and he would be a welcome addition if he plays well.

Yeah moran's trial policy of each player getting a full game, being on the bench for a game then not being involved seems to be the best policy especially with 40 players to look at and it will help any potential nfl players to shine through. getting promotion from div 4 has to be a serious target for leitrim. having london away first should help as it will enable the squad to gain a more settled feel before the more challenging games later in the league.

Each player is aware of this policy and gives them something to aim for as regards getting on the final panel, nobody can argue that they didn't get a chance as this isn't the case, so hopefully we'll have the best panel available playing for Leitrim this year.  As regards realistic ambitions for the year ahead, promotion is priority but by no means a certainty with the likes of Sligo, Wicklow etc. thrown into the mix. But i think the one thing every Leitrim supporter wants is a win against the Rossies on the 31 May!!!

Out of interest how are mickey moran and john morrison getting on in leitrim?

I know its early days and they have lost their opening 2 fbd games but are there positive signs?

From what i've heard things are going well, each player is getting a least one game in the FBD league - thats not bad considering there's around 40 players on the panel.  I wouldn't read too much into the results.  Positives wise there has been some good performances by newcomers (although most of these boys would have been in and out of the panel for the last couple of years) - Ray Cox, Declan 'Jag' Gilhooley, Brendan Guckian, Brendan Gallagher (Lucan Fella) and Daniel Beck.  Like for all teams its a bit early to be assessing the team based on results just yet.  I wouldn't expect the team to really take shape until the Sligo game in the NFL.  But all in all fringe players are getting proper match time not like 5 or 10 mins at the end of a game to make a name for yourself alla Des Dolan.
