reading
By Any Means: His Brand New Adventure from Wicklow to Wollongong by charlie boorman.
not a bad read, not the greatest of writers but the journey is interesting enough to make up for it.

really enjoyed carraghers book aswell , good read.
just finished the innocent man by john grisham, which i thought was quite good

would agree def the east coast if your tight for time, you could try someone like peter pan who are great for organizing trips up the coast especially if your not gonna have your own car.would prob save you abit of money that way too.
Def go an see sydney ,but wouldn't spend all my time about it, australia has too much else to offer(and melbourne is a better city IMO)
depends what your after in NZ, but the west coast of the south island is amazing, and queenstown is the spot for adventure activities,(altough taupo is good for that in the north island aswell and cheaper.)def try and get to queenstown ,franz josef or fox glasier and milford sound anyway. Also if you can , i though the trans alpine railway was brilliant.
we spent a month around NZ on the magic bus and it was great, but if theres a few of you a camper van would be great aswell.
F88k it, you should just push the boat out and go for the year ;) 8)

Anyone know for def when the summer break from club football is this year,i've heard there is supposed to be 3 weeks this year at the end of july with no club games. Is this true?I'm trying to book a holiday at the min around club football, but there doesnt seem to be any sort of def fixture list, or def holiday period :-[

There are definitely no games on the weekends of the 12th or the 19th of July. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think there are games on the week leading up to 26th July either
thanks 86,
would be nice if they give us a definite schedule but!
making the effort to book holidays around the football but its not made easy.
not much point having a holiday break if no one knows for sure when it is or how long it is! :-\

Watched Into The Wild last night. A story about a young American lad who lived a frugal life after graduating, living off the earth and eventually living in the wild in America. True story. A good story and yer man has an interesting outlook on life. Not one I would share but worth watching imo. Very slow moving however.

I thought into the wild was great,i would agree its slow moving at times, but great story and some good perfomances.
One of my favourite films I've seen lately
(love the soundtrack too)

the last pint i bought in my local was £2.40, which is cheap i know, and i wouldnt mind the publican putting up the price 10p or so to cover price rises, but its the bigger bars that are going well banging up the price and then blaming in on inflation that bugs me!
to me there is no way any bar in the north can justify over £3 a pint.
Most annoying thing is with most of these bars, if you worked in them, they would pay you enough to be able to afford to drink in them!!

£3.10 for a pint in the hatfield, a supposedly student bar is a joke!!
can't believe it still gets the crowd of students it does when it puts the arm in like that!

remember the good old days of 3 for a fiver in shaws!

or when the bot did a feed and a pint for a fiver!
Obviously the price of drink is going to go up over time, but I think £3.10 for a pint in a student bar in belfast  is a bit OTT.
why do students still drink there?

Went on a Break for Ball weekend there in Donegal town. It was very good and well organised. The hotel we were put up in was first class and our whole programme of events ran very smoothly.
Its definitely a great concept and one that I think is going to become ever more popular.

went on break for ball day there at the weekend aswell in donegal (different club than DF though)
have to say, was an excellent day all round, activities, training session and everything were very good.
Great alternative to the usual team day away (although it was rounded off in time honoured  fashion with a good session!)
