i have a friend in the police who says there is another 'device' in fermanagh they know about but havent made public yet. also said the forkhill bomb was viable and a real threat unlike previous finds recently.

thats a very strange thing to state, think this police man may have been breaking very serious rules within the psni. will be intresting to see if these allogations are true!

Tyrone TV Launch!

http://www.tyronegaa.ie/club/football/news/story.jsp?newsid=877

Tyrone GAA is delighted to announce an exciting new venture that will see this weekend's Championship games reported on the internet.

Web video journalist Jerome Quinn will team up with Killyclogher cameraman Kieran McMullen to record all eight games in the WJ Dolan Senior and Intermediate competitions. The material will then be compiled into short video reports which will be uploaded onto the Tyrone county website at www.tyronegaa.ie

"This is a way of providing much-deserved profile for some fantastic games", says Omagh man Jerome. "Fans will be able to watch the best of Tyrone football in neatly packaged reports on the web".

The idea has already been trialled on the Armagh county website where video reports on Crossmaglen's shock defeat last weekend drew an unprecedented number of hits.

"More people watched those videos than any others from the entire Ulster Senior Football Championship throughout the Summer, which shows both the incredible interest in club games and the increasing popularity of web video.

"I also feel that this service will fill a void because these matches are not getting much television coverage. When you think about it, players like Ricey McMenamin and Joe McMahon were on Live TV just a few weeks ago in Croke Park, yet now when they return to their clubs the profile is seriously diminished".

Belfast Audio-Visual company Niavac are the main backers of the project, providing camera equipment and expertise. Their Managing Director is James Conlon, another Tyrone native.

Tyrone fan and Managing Director James Conlon explains why his backing of the WJ Dolan Championships is mixing business with pleasure.

"My business is at the forefront of new technology in the communications world, so we're very happy to be involved with a venture that is taking advantage of the advances that are being made. On a personal level, being a big Tyrone fan, it's a bonus to be able to mix business with pleasure".

Tyrone PRO Damian Harvey is confident that the tantalising prospect of eight games over a bumper weekend of Championship fare will give gaels a lift after the All Ireland disappointment and that the video venture will help bring the best of the action to the widest possible audience.

"People will be able to watch these reports all over the world, as well as here at home. We in Tyrone are always determined to move forward, to embrace new ideas and to be the best we can be. This project will reflect the strength and quality of club football in the county, and we're particularly delighted that it involves experts and backers who are from Tyrone".

Video reports will appear on the Tyrone website from Monday morning and will continue throughout the week.

Before then, web users can watch reports from the First Round games involving Errigal Ciaran v Donaghmore and Ardboe v Moy, as well as interviews looking ahead to the quarter-finals.

Great news. Who is paying for the provison of the service ?

great idea, will be a great advertisement for our club championship

Been happening a lot lately with assaults being carried out for little or no reason. If its true, shame on the perpetrators, whether they be Tones men or not.

agree wholeheartedly final whistle although I can assure you that they werent tones men

There is too much of it happening recently, and while not condoning it for a moment the first thing that occured to me was the Coalisland Omagh game earlier this year where an Omagh player got his jaw broken. At the time there was talk of a Fianna mentor being involved.
I hope he can make a speedy recovery.

all i can say is karma!

You'll see the british army back proper in bandit country again. These boys are afraid that if peacefulness continues in these areas the authorities will eventually close in on their racketeering and smuggling etc. Now they wont want that will they?

How about the British army being afraid that if peacefulness continues in these areas they will have reduced funding and won't have their backyard playground to train their helicopter pilots in.
So the Brits planted it then did they?

I'm saying it is not outside the realms of possibility.
Spoke to a few at home this evening who would be of the same opinion.

I dont get why the dissident IRA would plant a 600lb bomb in forkhill, makes no sense.

Exactly.

Plus the point earlier about there being so many tip-offs would feed into this.
Whats the chance of getting this exposed properly to the wider world if it is true?
the planting of this bomb really doesent make sence, it will be intresting if they will find the perpetrator's

The prospect of a Omagh Killyclogher semi final is mouth watering!

you got that right, would be some grudge match especially after killyclogher beating omagh in the league, words cannot describe how much club pride that would be at stake.

on another note, i think dromore will dispose of a less experinces and less talented errigal ciaran side. i think alot of talk of errigal is un warranted (i am aware they are top of the league) i just think that full forward and full back line arent up to scratch

Who do you think will start in Errigal's 'not up to scratch' ff line and fb line?

Although i have only seen errigal play once against omagh. against omagh there two corner forwards (caolan tierney & another young lad might have been your boy carson) both were extremely poor and were subbed before the end of the game in fairness there full forward was decent. and there two corners backs were also dodgy one was called sparky. also i think cormac mc gingley is to slow on the turn and lacks pace, owen mc cusker will take him to the cleaners. also think that although cathal mc crory is a good prospect he is to in experienced to be doing centre half back, colm mc cullagh will skin him. just think that overall errigal are overrated, and dromore are coming into form at the right time and there county players geling with the team. dromore by 4 or 5

In fairness it looked quite dangerous for a moment there today with gangs of teenagers rampaging onto the pitch through the gates and hopping the wall. You can easily see how people break their ankle or fall over and end up breaking their arm or something.

"gangs of teenagers" your making people sound as if they were terrifying grannies at a street corners. and they werent all teenagers seen plenty of men an women. and when in the 125 years of gaa have you heard of anyone getting injured after the final whistle?

only a week away from the "big weekend" in the club calender i think some teams have got better or worse since the draw was made, so thats why i am going for dromore and omagh wins, some great matches ahead looking forward to along weekend of great football :)

errigal vs dromore - dromore
omagh vs arboe - omagh
cappach vs galbally - cappach
trillick vs carrickmore - carrickmore
I wouldn't put the mortgage on those forecasts.

what are your forecasts then?

so that result leaves eglish safe??

no they have a long way to go, if they dont finish last they still have to play against 3rd last in the league and if they win that they have to play against the division 2 play of winner, if they win that they are then safe
