I think cork should be allowed back into the league. However, they should have to forfeit the first 2 games and points awarded to both meath and dublin.

What was the logic in buying tickets outside and then queuing again at the turnstiles?  It was a bit ridiculous and only served to slow things down.  Either you buy tickets in advance or you pay on the turnstile.

didnt take more than a minute for me..dont see a problem.
On the organising side of it, it is a more secure way of collecting gate money.

Listening to the radio...they say there might be a chance that the cork dublin game could be on this weekend.
i very much doubt if that would be the case..

If the game is indeed off, has many dubs on here wasted money on booking flights/hotels to cork??

Perhaps the radio sports phone-ins this evening should hear about the impact them huffers in cork are having on the ordinary supporters.  :P

Dungannon were much the better team.

Seen the second half of this on tv last night.
Great entertainment. Longford played the better football, but when you concede 2 goals like that at the end..well thats what they 'deserve'.
when the defensive marking is like this, it makes for more scores. i dont expect as much loose defending come the height of summer..

Getting fed up with this circus now.
To hear the sentiments expressed from both sides through the media, you'd swear there were inhumane killings occuring. Both parties (players and county board) should get real; your behaviour and antics over the last 3 months have brought disgrace to the association. Its just a sport at the end of the day. Its there for enjoyment.Get a grip lads.
If we want to be at war with something, there are more pressing issues that Irish people should be taking to the streets and voicing concern through the media: our so called 'health' service.

Clones yesterday :
€15 into the stand
€13 into mc grane (uncovered seats).

The stand package of €45 for 4 games seems it was great value now!!  8)

Was at the game in Clones yesterday.

Monaghan put on a good show. Some great moves up the field to create scores. Roscommon were very poor though. Barring another county strike, they could be facing the drop with Cork!

New boy mcguigan played well after a stuttering start i thought. He is still a bit light perhaps. Hope he proves me wrong.

Lennon was immense in the middle. Some of the fielding was top drawer stuff. Corey was pretty quiet alirght. I can see him back in defence come championship time.

The subs didnt make much impact. Though at the stage they entered, the game was already won and hard for them to establish themselves.

Overall, i was well impressed with Monaghan's performance, though bigger challenges are to come. Looking forward to Breffini on saturday week. Hopefully another 2 points there can consolidate Monaghans place in this division for another year... ;D (and beat them Cavan *nuts) ;D

As for Monaghan/Roscommon, i'd hope Monaghan have enough to come through this one. Hopefully Lennon won't be too big of a loss in the centre.  If Roscommon have a weak full-back like, they could potentially be ravaged if our FF line was Freeman/Ronaghan/Hanratty.

I reckon ye probably will Maguire but hopefully its a good open game of football. What is the general feeling in Monaghan for the year ahead? Was last year a flash in the pan or do ye think ye can push on again this year?

Don't think last year can be descibed as a flash in teh pan. That same team has been about for 4-5 years now.
2003: we beat Armagh in the ulster championship
2005: we won the Div. 2 league, got beaten in the qualifiers by Tyrone in Croker in August (last 16 though)
2006: Relagated from Div.1 but had lost a good few games by very little: gave the team some confidence. Poor championship though.
2007: Stormed through the league before getting beat by Meath in teh semi. Good run in chamionship.

This year could be this teams last year for a good stab. Would be over the moon with a ulster championship win. Will be very tough though. Anything after that would be a bonus.
