Very surprised nobody has commented on this issue, a serious breach of accountability that reflects badly on how Galway GAA and Hurling is run, off the pitch.

I agree, enough of this talk about Dublin, lock and close the thread.

Arra musha Jesus Christ Bunker. I hope Parke win the Intermediate championship this year to cheer you up a bit. Seriously.

Anyway, Clucko, MDMA, Philly, Kev McM are 2 years older than 2017 too. I'm not yet convinced the players coming through are quite as good. Cue the Dubs such as The Greatest lecturing me about certain underage panels hammering the shite out of everyone.

I think that's a fair comment. Too early to tell but what I know and see there would not be a panel close to the current one for quite some time. Personally I think Kerry will do a Dublin over the next decade, hopefully only after this year!

For those who think hurling is something you do the morning after a night out.

There is a thread on the Limerick financing issue in the hurling section of the forum.

Winning the hurling all Ireland after years of shite is a fantastic experience

https://youtu.be/SaPNnVTRgE8

I wouldn't begrudge Limerick
They have a great tradition as well

https://youtu.be/jfFnL_o8QS0

That they do, great county, great tradition, but not a tradition of winning All Irelands though, only the next couple of years will tell

Breheny leading the charge against Donegal's Motion

https://m.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-games/hurling/martin-breheny-super-8s-farce-makes-congress-clr-while-major-issues-ignored-37833926.html

As usual like alot of posters on this MB your anti dub bitterness has you posting rubbish and lies.

Martin makes quite reasonable points that there could have been far more important issues addressed at congress this weekend such as player welfare and fixture congestion rather than all the focus on the unfair advantage dubs have in croker super 8s (which he agrees with) He also points out there are no motions submitted  to amend the ridiculous and unfair structures in the provincial championships

But I'm sure the auld reliables on this MB will use this to bleat on again about Dublin money
like the  financial doping of Dublin?
like re-balancing funding to other leinster counties?

Do you seriously think Meath and Kildare will become forces again if they just had a few more quid? Its that simple?

Well, it worked with Dublin! What you forget or more likely, what all Dublin supporters want us to forget, is that Dublin were struggling prior to the doping. Their senior footballers were beaten by Westmeath and Laois in previous seasons, they'd only won one All Ireland in 22 years. Their hurlers were also losing to Laois and Westmeath, they never won anything with their own players. At underage, titles were scarce in both codes. 1 All Ireland since 1984.
Then what happened? The Bertie bonanza! Since then Dublin have won 6 football All Ireland's, their hurlers won their first ever provincial championship. At underage, they have won 7 All Ireland's in both codes. A complete turn around. So guess what? Money works!

Just maybe your right as seen in Limerick hurling and previously in Tyrone (millions invested, centre of excellence etc). If treating all equally then their wins are tainted and financially doped to win their success . . . .

Yawn.

;D No way, is that deflection I see? I've never seen that before from a Dub. Yawnnnnnnn!

You are free to argue against everything I've said. Tell me why you think I'm wrong, I've provided facts and figures, what have you got as a counter argument? Tell me why you don't think Dublin are financially doped.

I have written about 100 posts on this matter and numerous threads, if will do so again, if you can state why Limerick Hurling and Tyrone football are not in the same bracket, financially doped!?

;D I'm not new to this game. I've heard all the abuse, all the lies and yes, all the deflection. There's tonnes of it. Limerick hurling or Tyrone football are completely irrelevant. They have nothing to do with the financial doping of Dublin. You will not discuss Dublin's doping no matter what answer I give. It shows how desperate and weak the defence of Dublin is when the only response is abuse, deflection or lies.

So what your saying is Dublin money counts, but with Tyrone it  doesnt. I didn't realise Brexit had kicked in already. I thought we had until March 29th or do you just not recognise that part of the country as being part of this island??

You add Cork to that list, a stadium, sure that's an unfair advantage, built it in Leitrim.

Dublin's financial wealth is always under the spotlight and is well documented in the media and in particularly on this forum (mainly by Mayo men). Rightly or wrongly so.

However, another county has had multi million Euro investments since 2004 and the senior team running costs, in  particular the Hurling, is one of the highest in the country, and has increased considerably over the last couple of years. Limerick have increased participation rates across the county and have transformed the GAA in limerick, but would it possible without the money.

A good decent GAA man, J.P McManus has been at the forefront of the Sporting Limerick brand. Everyone remembers his generous gift to the clubs last year following Limericks All Ireland success.

However, the question is, does his and others backing of Limerick financially give them a financial edge over their rivals in preparation of their teams? Some might say yes.

He has given Millions to Limerick, and even before he started to sponsor them in 2004, he gave them a 5 million donation to ease a dept. burden.

I was talking to a work colleague, from Munster, who's says limericks All Ireland success and recent underage success is tainted, as they have the edge over other teams financially.

Myself personally, I think its great he's there and counties would only dream of such financial backing.

Jaysus lads picking on lads for getting cars now, everyone is getting cars these days, even Rory Stories is a brand ambassador. Fair play to them if they can get it.

Again, another Dublin thread full of inaccuracies. Thread number 46 on Dublin.   ;)

45k in expenses, sure that would of paid for at least 1 full time coach.

I wonder is there any update on this issue?

Any idea how to get tickets for this, a lot of money in Mayo GAA, Ireland favourite team. A lot of money to spend on one code per year.

https://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-games/gaelic-football/25000-packages-see-mayo-poised-for-new-york-windfall-37811504.html

Ah but not nearly as much as Dublin had to spend on building their own Stadium and the debt that came with that or the plan to build their own training center and the cost that will come with that? I am not even going to mention the travel expenses that Dublin GAA have to fork out to bring their players across the country for training which Mayo don't have to contend with or the fact that Mayo got €15.4m in development grants in 2018 compared to Dublin only getting €590k!!!! They GAA persecution of Dublin knows no bounds and it is amazing that the Dubs can field a team let alone win All Irelands to be honest!!

P.S just to correction one slight inaccuracy in your intelligent insightful post , Mayo do compete in hurling albeit in the Nicky Rackard Cup and Keith Higgins has won a Railway Cup for Connacht in both football and hurling. I thin k only Kilkenny and Cavan compete in only one code at intercounty level!!

Sorry not sure what your on about, this is about Mayo GAA fundraiser, I am not sure if its just for the Senior Football team or more than that, fair play to them if they can do it and get it, I just feel for say Leitrim, where Mayo have a large financial gain over them, which is unfair to the Leitrim's out there.

The running of the Dublin teams, from minor to senior, both codes, both genders is catered for from sponsorship and merchandising etc. Its not catered for from Development and coaching grants for for the betterment of children in the capital.

Arra would ya quit  ;D. Anyway, as you said it's a Mayo Fundraiser...why are you starting a thread on it?

;) it was a fair play thread, fair play to them, Kerry raised a few million I believe on their trips to the states.

And one might say, the finances of the top 1-3 or 1-4 teams are on par.

One might say that but one would be very wrong as can be seen in the other thread about Dublin finances.

Which one sure there are multiple threads on Dublin on this site. Hard to keep up.
