The Orange Orders rules highleights it as specifically sectarian. There would be no point in inclusion as you simply cannot become a member if you are a Catholic or are married to a Catholic. I'm sure they would be open to all other non-catholic ethnic minorities... ::)

The GAA is aiming for inclusivity. I would like to see it where the level of acceptance of Rugby within nationalist communities could be replicated in unionist communities for the GAA. It is great to see the use of the traditional 'Ulster' flag (with the de Burgh cross) in greater numbers as opposed to simpkly the 'northern Irish provincial' flag.
That is not the Northern Irish provincial flag but the Unofficial Flag of the old Northern Ireland Parliament before it was prorogued in 1972. It has no constitutional basis but has been adopted by Loyalists.

Did you not see the inverted commas???
Obviously not

Great marketing tool, though maybe explains some of Anthony's tackles in Old Firm games!! :D

What would you expect from this small minded bigot, ah well, it will enable the little Englanders who follow Norn Iron to belt out the Billy Boys, GSTQ and Rule Britannia in comfort.

I thought there would have been more Armagh Clubs posting their best wishes.

Good to see Cross in the Club Final again on Paddy's Day. Hopefully they can do it again. Unbelievable that Oisin, Francie, John Mac and Paul Hearty are in line for a 5th medal. Armagh will be glad to see 5 or 6 of these boys back in the fold. Good luck to Cross.

Any one commenting on a Celtic thread with Loyalist Flag as his icon must surely only be stirring it? ;)

Barca are starting to struggle, Arsenal could do them tomorrow. Real are starting to crank it up as well.

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling

I agree with the last two assessments. We could have won more but given what passed for an Armagh team from the mid eighties until the two Brians came on the scene we should be grateful to both the Brians and Big Joe. The point I really set out to make is we should not view County teams as North or South but simply Armagh. Even some of the attitudes to Cross display a short sightedness driven by petty Jealousy... One County One Team.... or Mes Que Un Club as they would say in Barcalona.

This arguement of people building teams for future success is a load of bollix and is only another excuse for failure (talking about senior level), The arguemnt can only be used if this is your intention from the start. when the lad in question was running Armagh his aim wasn't to prepare the team for 3 or 4 years down the line it was to achieve there and then or at least in the short time these guys were in charge. They didn't do this, therefore they underachieved so stop trying to turn failure round as if it was planned .
You are the one talking bollix and your obvious bias is showing quite clearly. The two Brians made the best of what talent was available winning back to back Ulsters and were unlucky not to have gone all the way. At no stage did I say that they were building for the future. What they brought to Armagh was a structure and a training regime that had been missing. Ask any one who played under them. Brian McAlinden was not universally like by the players but was respected for what he had done. I'm not taking away from Joe Kernan but he brought an element of luck in 02 that we didn't get before and some might argue since. As an Armagh fan first and foremost I get sick of this North/South split...One county one team. I also think the failure of other Clubs to get behind Cross is another example of short sightedness.

It seems a strong enough squad on paper. Won't be a bad thing to shake things up a bit with a mixture of a lot of clubs. But i just hope with the North Armagh man at the helm he hasn't overlooked certain players based on regional placement. I wouldn't advocate that as i have complained in the past as this biased has been noticeable  IMO from certain south Armagh managers towards North Armagh players.
Get over yourselves, Armagh doesn't stop at Poyntzpass, no matter what Tony Fearon says!! :D You all seem to forget that this North Armagh man built the team that won sam in 02 for joe. He and POR seem to have a good understanding when it comes to players being used in Senior and U21 squads.

Tyrone seemed to get away with playing Jordan and Harte at wing back. Mind you they always had someone covering when they went forward.

If it came down to a choice betwen the 2, it would have to be Kernan. Seems back to his best for Cross in terms of distribution and is reliable for left sided frees.
Correct

Anyone care to comment on Brian Mallon's performance? Why does he continually make the starting 15? What exactly did he contribute to the team on Saturday night?

Brian Mallon is a super footballer! He's most affective in the full forward line, but he's not going to play well if the right ball isn't given to him... much like anyone you put in there! - In the first half v Down the ball was low & in front... he won every ball & Down had to switch men on him. The ball stopped coming in & he was pulled out to half forwards to do the donkey work again.

Apples... Duffy is a line breaker! Antother supreme talent! He starts most of our attacks & is very direct & comfortable on the ball - which is a refreshing change, from those players 'dilly dallying' & playing backwards passing!!

Can get very frustrating reading reviews on here about players giving their all!
As I stated before its all about opinion, if you are frustrated then don't use the board, I don't expect everyone to agree with my assessment but there you go....my assessment. You will never hear me question anyone's effort either for club or county, players don't set out to play badly...it just happens.

yea but theres posting opinions and then theres being blind. duffy started most of armaghs attacks on saturday night and when the defence got the ball you can see them looking for paul to link defence and attack. you also speak of AK's "vision and playmaking skills". paul is twice the player in that department IMO. you then say that paul is shaky in defence. one of the reasons AK was moved to CHF was because of his poor defensive skills. i can only imagine that that you have tainted opinions of pearse og or just paul himself
Not at all, as I said that is my opinion I respect your right to disagree, please respect mine. I didn't even know he was an og's player.

Whats your problem, I don't get to see much club football.
