Anyone see Fletcher with his hands on the ref tonight? Now if that had've been JT or our Ash it would've been some crying match!
Big difference, most people would assume that Fletcher is a decent character whereas if Terry or Cashley put their hands on the ref they are probably just trying to get into his panties.

Keep putting that head up, SS, always good to read an informed opinion. This part in particular answers my earlier question about how he could get so deeply in the red:Quote from: Shamrock Shore on December 12, 2010, 09:26:42 PM
Ryan seems to have run up huge loans from company where he just drew out the money and feck the consequences.
No different than someone losing the run of themselves with a new credit card. Well, apart from the scale obviously. As you say, one would hope his accountant would give him a slap but if your client insists on betting all their money on the Harlem Globetrotters losing, what can you do? (Make sure you get paid cash)
My question earlier was, is this type of thing allowed in Ireland under company law and company tax regulations?
In other countries there are strong restrictions as to how much a director can take out on loan.

Bingo
I take your point - but it's always dangerous claiming for home office costs cos if you go and sell the house the PPR CGT relief may be restricted by the percentage claim wellied in.
I always advise clients never to claim for home office costs.
I am sure we'll see the full set of accounts for Ryan's company 'leaked' at some stage .Revenue would have them as would his accountant. I'll exit, stage left, until then.

Travel expenses probably not allowed in any shape or form as you need to travel from place of business to client from legitimate claim. Starting from home not allowed.
Ryan seems to have run up huge loans from company where he just drew out the money and feck the consequences. Revenue insist that if a company loans money to a director it must pay over 20% tax immediately to Revenue that will be refunded when the loan is cleared. The Director is assesed for tax on the loan as if it was a salary - and taxed in the normal way.

Stop stop stop! Dividends are not taxed at a different rate FFS! Employee directors with more than 15% shares dont get a paye credit so they pay more tax than a normal punter! Christ on a bike. All pub tax experts!

Another load of shite. Do u think there is a separate tax code for RTE celebs? There isn't. If u want a discussion on the merits of forming a company as opposed to whatever then take it elsewhere in a new thread. My point here is that you and Lawnseed are talking shite if u think Gerry Ryan and other RTE celebs are riding Irish taxpayers. If they keep within the law, and I have no reason to suspect they don't, then they are paying the same tax as we all are. If u want to set up a company for pension purposes then fire ahead
