I do believe Glen should appeal, force a decision from Croke Park, and then consider if they wish to enforce that decision.

All the best to Glen today, hope they win but had Crokes down for winners before a ball was kicked or even Walsh been transferred Just don't hope Glen freeze and do themselves justice.

How much Rory Gallagher has learnt from his last two games against Galway will be a likely decider. Last spring in the league and a few years ago as Donegal manager in the round 4 qualifier his sides conceded a whopping 8-28 as they were destroyed on the kick outs and turn overs
If Derry bring the required intensity and aggression into this match I'd expect this match to be decided on fine margins if not Galway to win by a bit to spare.
On another note i watched back on the 1998 Derry v Galway All-Ireland semi final the other night. How bad was Joe Brolly? Seen better performances from Junior B club players after a feed of drink. Joe was eventually subbed off on 45 minutes yapping away to himself.

How would it have fared if a summer World Cup had taken place?

So Antrim and Monaghan are definites for a new manager. Probables are Down and Donegal but still no word from either county. Tyrone is the other one where it wouldn't really surprise me if they step down.
I'll have a puff of whatever you're smoking there, please.
I watched Tyrone games this year, there appeared to be very little sideline communication in the Tyrone camp. I got the feeling all was not well between the two managers.
But that is only my observation, nothing more.
Know both men. Absolutely nothing in this.

Identify the best candidate and go and get him
Rory Gallagher has worked wonders in Derry. Gallagher is intelligent enough to know that after this year the only way is downwards for Derry. He has taken them beyond their natural ceiling. His management style also has a 3 yr cycle. The intensity will soon become too much to bear for the Derry fellas & an unravelling is likely within 6 to 12 months. Derry would have a meagre "training budget" in comparison to Mayo as well.
Gallagher would absolutely would jump at the chance to go to Mayo.
And he would add a layer of steel and a level of organization not seen before in Mayo.

Clare have done you no favour.

The approaches to this game from Derry and Armagh supporters have been interesting to observe.
The Derry ones have been reserved. They are refusing to get too excited and won't look beyond Clare. They're like the Sperrins; hard, cold but toweringly strong
.
The Armagh ones are like a pile of children on Christmas Eve. They're talking about All Ireland Finals, Sams, takeovers. They're like a Buckfast-tasting convention; jollified, crazy, and a bit messy.
Nothing wrong with either approach but it's just interesting to observe from a county in between them.
