A surprising open game of football for Chelsea to cause damage. Chelsea were good value for their win matter of fact they created more chances in todays game than they created in the 4-0 win in this fixture last year. United have so many players off form or simply not up to this level.

Every United player is up to 'that level' Chelsea players wanted it more and were good value for the win.

Mourinho has got to get after teams now, Arsenal and City are dots on the horizon and they need six points from those games to drag themselves back into the title race, Chelsea will be lucky making the top four.

Will be no title race Man City will have the title wrapped up early this season. The rest Spurs,Arsenal,Liverpool,Chelsea and United will be fighting it out for top 4 finishes.

Brigids will more than likely beat Balla in the final. Annagh Rivers more than likely will be the best hope of a Mayo winner next Friday. What are Tulsk like?
Maybe they will but what are you basing a Brigids win on?
He is probably basing it on beating Galway opposition who have been the best at Connacht minor level the last few years.

Pick it

Cluxton (very close with Clarke but shades it due to superior kickouts)

Harrison (had Fitzsimons ahead before Sunday but he was roasted in the final)
Higgins (perpetual motion™)
Barrett (his best ever year for Mayo)

McCaffrey (missed the final but still deserves one)
Keegan (outstanding up to the Roscommon draw and roared back to his best in the final)
Boyle (lionhearted™)

Parsons (only one midfield spot up for grabs, shades it from Fenton and Cavanagh)
McCarthy (automatic)

McLoughlin (overtook Kilkenny who was wiped out in the final)
O'Callaghan (was quite patchy in most of his displays but you can't ignore mercurial genius)
Mannion (excellent all year and when it mattered)
Doherty (thoroughly deserved)
Rock (stood up in the final and has earned it - Kerry may get one here but it would be undeserved)
Moran (automatic - FOTY)

And that's it.

Mayo 9
Dublin 6
The rest 0

Mayo will get 6 or 7 max.

and in the end 6 it was.

Promises to be top contest, two All Ireland contenders faring off in a knock out game.  Hopefully the pundits on Eir sports give a full detail analysis of both teams and not just focused on Diarmuid Connolly with his fancy assists when unmarked while ignoring the fact he was struggling for scores in the last two games.

Top players steps up in games like this so a big performance is expected from Ballymuns and St Vincents main scorers Dean Rock and Tomas Quinn.

Maybe, I personally think people aren't in love with the team, they are in love with the practice of been emotionally invested in a team. Just become a team changes shape it won't make any difference. Those supporters are like junkies and they will still need to get their hit.

Rochford given a 2 year extension to his deal tonight - until 2020. Backroom team not confirmed yet though. Hopefully no major changes there either.
The Mayo GAA statement says his backroom team will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Which would suggest a few changes will be made.

People say they would lose interest if the counties became regions.

The same people might support Liverpool and hate Everton despite not having any connection to Liverpool.

People support sports teams to break the tedium and have excitement and something to enjoy. The actual team they follow is secondary.
Not a good example, soccer support is a hobby or to fill the void until the GAA season starts up. Anyone that gets too hot and bothered about a English team they have no connections with needs to have a good look at themselves.

Support of a GAA team is very different and a lot of the weaker counties don't get much to be excitement about while following their team yet they would prefer that to some region team...

Was Jim Gavin high risk when he took over Dublin?  No senior county management experience?

Haven't most successful county managers had the most success in their first manager Job?

What county manager in the last 20 years has won an All-Ireland as a manager for a second time?  Jack O'connor (And I'm not even sure about that).

Way too much crap and talk about former experience imo.  As I said earlier, he's hungry, the back room team (if confirmed) looks good, we have a decent squad and I'm optimistic about this...

Good luck Cathal
Wow, just wow. Your logic is so far off the scale I don't know where to start. You honestly believe mentioning  his lack of intercounty experience is a load of crap.

Compare him to Holmes/Connelly, FOD etc... why don't some Sligo people get it that we needed experience, we've failed with the 1st timers, its not a successful approach but we keep doing it.

Jim Gavin is a terrible example, u21 winner, AI winning player etc... this guy is coming from Truagh Gaels to Sligo. We could get lucky and he's great but he could be a disaster like Jordan/Carew et... Good luck to him.

Time to face the facts, no matter who is appointed [inert name of Division 3/4 county] they will not be winning a provincial much less an AI title in the near future. [insert name of Division 2 county] will have some chance of winning a provincial title but only a slight chance of making the Super 8 competition especially after it has run for a couple of years.

Malachy O'Rourke won Ulster with Monaghan in his first year with them and they played their league football in Div 3 that spring.
