Was at the game, can't mind it. If this was at the end of the game, Declan was around the middle of the field then and nowhere near that area.

The person who did this is a tool and if I was Declan (my point taking skills may beg to differ) I would not be too happy about it, this is not even a joke it is a slur on someones character and I would hope the moderator remove this straight away. Any one agree?

you think the irish times would publish a picture doctored by photoshop think about it not a hope.....in my opinion

Yeah, that'd be like the Independent running a big story based on a badly translated interview with a Polish girl living in Donegal!

listening to Highland Radio the next day after the interview and they had the girl on, she was fuming that the Independent got it wrong and the majority of it was taking out of context.

HOW I KNOW THAT WASN'T DECLAN? BECAUSE MRS. "MARTIN MCGUINNESS OF THE HANDBAG"  DERRYTRESK WAS ATTACKING HIM AROUND 20 METRES OUT FROM THE LINE NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE PITCH, WHILE THE MAJORITY OF THE SUPPORTERS AND TEAM MENTORS OF DERRYTRESK WERE CELEBRATING TOGETHER NOT TO FAR AWAY.

Declan O'Sullivan had to put up with some shite from 'high -5s', to  pulling and dragging and then the attack from the handbag. fair fecks to him that he did not retaliate once.

Aye Mickey Harte's would bore the pants off ye, I never read it. I like Teirneys for the craic but I prefer Heaneys as he knows what he is chatting about as well as a bit of humour, something which Harte's column fails to do.

Davitts are a good strong side. They won Connacht fairly comfortably and walked their AI semi.
There's 2 of their team currently on the Mayo panel and both will probably be near enough to the starting Mayo team this summer.
I haven't seen them in the flesh this year but have seen them a few times over the past few seasons and they seem to be a good bit better again this year.
Michael Conroy in the full forward line has been their star for most of the campaign. Has been racking up the scores all year.
I'd fancy them to win their game.

My own club were beaten in the Galway county final by Clonbur. They are also a decent side. They have no real individual stars but are a good solid all round team.
It's a tough one to call. Derrytresk obviously missing a few lads through suspension but they must be a decent enough side to have beaten Dromid Pearses.

Na lad was down at the game the Dromaird Pearses team were terrible, looked like they only started playing football a few weeks back. Their handling skills were woeful and they looked 'oldish'. Even though they went to 13 men they wouldnt have won if they had the 15.

Castlemaine were a phsyically small side also but their players were good on the ball and their midfielder, I think called Burke (who was not big at all) rulled supreme at midfield. If i was Jack O'Connor i think he could definetly do a job in at wing half forward for the Kerry team.

So looks like a Clonbur and Davitts double for the weeknd!!!!

What about Clonbur then worth a punt??

Regarding the intermediate semis, Castlemaine who beat Craigbane were not overally impressive as Craigbane did not perform at all and only got beat by a point. Mind ye they have some midfielder! What are the Davitts from Mayo like?

Fancy Tyrone 8/15 home to Derry, Fermanagh 4/9 at home to Clare  and Kildare 4/9 away to Monagahan.

Anyone else any 'Bankers'??

I heard there interviewing 'Handbag lady' live!

-'So Mrs. Do ye tink that hitting him with the bag was severe?'

-' Ach no, a few fecking years ago I would be hitting him with the butt of my armalite for goodness sake, with a warning shot to the back of the head; sure I only bliming tapped him!'

-'Do you think your ban was severe?'

-''It was bliming surly, sure it could of been worse; I could been banned for 11 months instead of 48 weeks.'

-'Will you take this to the appeal's court?'

- 'No. I'm gonna take it to big Murphy and O'Neiil up in Carrickmore they usually sort out, what we call....... Ahem..... 'issues' up here. No better men for the job and they always get the job done.'

- 'Will you be decommissioning the handbag now?'

- ' Not a f**king chance, I'm not like those Shinners.'

-' So overall, do you think Derrytresk will win the final with all the suspensions and with you yourself personally won't be there?'

- 'As I said earlier, Big Murphy and O'Neill will get the job done and we will be present in Croker and these boys are that good that we will have bloody Canavan and Stephen O'Neill in the full forward line for us on the day. Now see ya later I'm away to break down and clean the handbag for the weekend. See ya in Croker!!.'

Are Derry the worst supported team in the top two divisions ? Seemed to be a lot of room at Celtic Park today for a surprise result- however, there is some talent coming through for the Tribesmen and they must be in with a shout in the next 3 or 4 years .

Yes, by a long way.

Derrys support is pathetic. On the plus side there was a lot of clubs who were involved in the Ulster league yesterday so a lot of them would be at their own club games and then you had the Dungiven u-21 game and Coleraine's camogs were in an all-ireland semi final. By the way how did they do?

ah lads tis about time the GAA actually took some action on these mass brawls hi which are all too common...................... and tis just unlucky that on this occasion it is Derrytresk and Dromaird who are the fall guys.

Good job they didn't see the Kilrea v Ballinderry game in the Derry Championship last year!!!!

Because this fight was in a national competition with exposure across the country and not in a local championship the GAA maybe believed that it was a great time to hit the teams hard.
